Can anyone please tell me the difference between the MB525 and an XT525?
Thanks

xt525?
I don't see it on Google?

You must mean xt535.
But to compare, I prefer using mb526 spec as base. Because mb525's cpu was underclocked and show only 800mhz on spec list.

Almost on par, but uses different CPUs

I wonder if the samsung galaxy 3 can be overclocked with any kernels. If so, what is the maximum speed that can be achieved. 1.8ghz would be really nice.

I had the international s3 and I had it overclocked to 1.8ghz ....

Just wondering what is the point of overclocking anymore
Are these phones crazy fast already

This is also how i feel. Also you cant overclock the stock kernel until someone releases a custom one. You could try but it wont stick.

I know what you mean .... I just overclocked it to see what was the max to set .... I think that it can hit easily to 2ghz on the international version .... I don't know about the US version ....

I'm not sure I see a point to overclocking yet
maybe after the phones been out a while and everything settles down we could have a custom kernal that would be easy to under or overvolt
but i really dont think the phone needs it...i'm more looking forward to custom roms like a pretty much pure google ICS or JB rom maybe with some extras added in
Bigger e-penis scores (quadrant) duh
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
im using aokp rom and ive overclocked mine to 1.7ghz depends on the phone. some phones can go to 1.8ghz if lucky if not then 1.6 ghz, it varies from phone to phone
I'd imagine Quick Clock would work on these. Not my favorite way to overclock, but its easy.

How come the cpu seems so slow in quadrant standard tests.... Heck, my desire z (800mhz single core) blew through the cpu component of the test faster...This result is typical of all Cm7 roms I've tried. Below my result is... Surprise! Atrix 4g, with superior cpu rating, but inferior i/o. I find this all kind of counter intuitive...
Any insights?

have you underclocked?
i got double your cpu score on 1.45ghz
Its because cm7 doesn't initialize both cousin in quadrant. Try it on cm9 or cm10 CPU doubles.
Managed to get 4.5k quadrant score at 1.45 on the older builds. 4K with 1.3ghz

I guess I wasn't clear enough lol
My phone was at stock 1ghz. This was to compare objectively to the bar below the "your device" bar, which was entitled "atrix 4g" which had, yes, superior cpu and inferior i/o scores.
Of course you will get better scores overclocked to 1.45 ghz. Try to understand what I'm asking about. I'll ask more clearly.
Why does a custom rom appear to get a worse cpu score than stock at same clock rate? Shouldn't it be equal or greater?

Is that true? System panel gives independent readouts of the load on each core and they seem to both be working. But if they don't both work in quadrant that would explain it all =) (except why quadrant lol)

Score I got at 1.3ghz faux kernel on am older version of cm9. Yea quadrant reads that there are 2 cores. Just does not use them properly.

Thanks guys. That does seem to be the issue. Here is a score @ 1gHz with mokee os. Looks pretty obvious that both cores are working here:
Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app
Lol its not obvious at all the green bar is I/o mokee is cm7 based you should try a cm9 or cm10 based rom to see CPU difference.

Look at my blue (ie cpu) bar in this image compared to the image in my first post. I believe it is, in fact, quite obvious. Lol... At least that something is significantly improved cpu-wise...

Hello, I'm sharing this version of GTalk with (video chat support?), I haven't tested it yet, I have used it on my Samsung Galaxy 5, I don't know if it's compatible with Motorola Defy(+).
Edit: It's for CM7

Yeah I know that, but "Make do with what you have"
Hey guys, I'm on stock 4.1.2 and it's running well. But I was wondering, now that the bootloader is unlocked (or just in general) is there a way to overclock my RAZR on the stock ROM?
The phone is fast but with the great battery life I wouldn't mind some extra horsepower throughout the day.
Thanks in advance

i have not unlocked my bootloader yet, i dont see a reason to atm.. but with root, there is an app called pimp my rom, its the best i have seen, every option you can think of, even resolution tweaks..

Sick app, i saw the governor tweaks but i didn't see a straight up overclock?
Also, do you know any solid ways to tweak our resolution? How does that work, really? How can you get a better image out of your screen that way?
Thanks in advance

You need a kernel capable of overclocking to overclock, so keep an eye on kernel development. It's sure to pick up the Razr hd family now that we've unlocked the BL. Also, underclocking > overclocking. I've got an ATT HTC One X, which has the same processor and, thanks to the magic of project butter, I've underclocked as low as 1.3ghz (the lowest current kernels are capable of) without seeing any difference in performance. I do, however, get much better battery

Yeah I'd be really interested in underclocking. No idea what kernels are though. Other than that popcorn hat doesn't pop all the way. I need to learn.

A kernel is like the bridge between software and hardware, it's the Rosetta Stone from which the two communicate.
It affects processor clock speed, screen resolution, volume level, etc.
I would like to upgrade my MB525[Defy] to kitkat but all the ROMS that I have found are for the MB526 [defy+] is that a potential problem? Are the Rom files interchangeable for those two phones? thanks

They are for both since the device is the same only battery is different. So yes you can install it on your device.

Thats what I was thinking too except the processor is different on the MB526 its a 1ghz as opposed to 800mhz on MB525. thanks though

No. Is the same processor. Only one is underclocked. The same processor is even on Droid 2 Global which is overcloked to 1200.
