Got my phone a few weeks backs.updated it to 4.2.2 .There is this strange issue with regards to 3g connectivity.Mostly the signal strength is good arnd -93 dbm.I have full working Blue bars. But the problem is with the data rate and its connectivity. Most of the time i get the E signal but no upload or download activity. The data connection just dies. When opening chrome it is again regained.but after a few minutes it disconnects again. And the speed sucks too.
Also when the screen is off.It loses data conenction.
Any one with similar issues??Or a possible Fix???

Try reflashing the 4.2.2 radio.
Here is the factory image: https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/occam-jdq39-factory-345dc199.tgz

try connecting to wifi...sometimes that helps. or reboot your phone. this could be caused by a market overload or your data reception might not be strong enough in the location you are in.

No problem
My phone is dropping every single call lasting more then 20 40 seconds. It suddenly turn off all receivers and the call of course ends at that point.
Is there any fix to this?
Try this modem, works for me, before i had problems with handovers from GSM - 3G

First try to set your wireless network to gsm only..try to make the same calls..if you have no more call drop issue...get your phone replaced.
I am one of the unlucky ones who are having serious issues when gsm/wcdma mode is selected.. basically when the signal strength changes and the phone is trying to lock to another cell..it simply disconnects and resets the radio..actually you can try running LogCat and see...just before your radio resets the is a process of usb host getting installed/disconnected and gets blacklisted..something like that.
If you are not having these symptoms than it is some other issue...try it out and see.
Normally cell phone providers have soft handoff where the signal strength decreases and the strength from other cell site increases and that site starts processing the call hard handoff happens between gsm and cdms probiders normally seen in roaming calls...by any chance are you in an area where reception is weak

Mine was dropping every call if it lasted long enough. Tried to flas with the newest ROM from Samfirmware, but no improvement. Tried to flas the modem in post #2. Hopefully this will help.
Seems to turn off all recievers both Wifi, 3g, cell. Showing only a " Ø "sign where reception is.
double post....

After a couple of days of using my Nexus 4 i've noticed a problem with the way it handles the transition between Wifi and 3G internet.
Usually it works just as expected, when I switch Wifi off (or just go out of wifi range) it automatically switches to 3G internet (coverage icon in blue). The problem is that sometimes, after switching wifi off, it doesn't turn on 3G data (coverage icon remains grey). The only way I can get 3G internet back is turning Airplane Mode on, and then off again. ¿Am I missing something here? I've seen other people having this problem with other phones, but no workaround yet

This happens with my gf's Galaxy S3 too...
I think this is just a network coverage issue. My old mytouch 4g slide had the same problem. Usually it switches quickly if I'm in an area with great reception. If I'm somewhere with weak reception, it takes a little longer.

Well, I don't think this is a network coverage problem because when this problem happens, it can stay for hours with no 3G internet, it just doesn't even try. But then I switch airplane mode on and then off again, and it achieves 3G data connectivity almost immediately. Also, with the same SIM card I didn't have this problem with an iPhone 3GS.
Well, i've been investigating a little bit, and I've just found it in the AOSP issues tracker as "Android Issue #2207"
I've also found some apps like "3G Connection Fix Free" that seems to try to fix it
I'll try them and report back my findings
I think I have this problem too sometimes. I think my phone has other issues, I'm about to send it back to Google because it keeps dropping cell signals as well, but I definitely have this same problem.
Yes, it happened to me as well yesterday.
After I had more than ten hours at home using wifi, it can't switch to 3G automatically when I left home. The only way I did is reboot the phone.
But if I just connected to wifi for few hours it is OK.
Before I use One X, I don't have this problem before, but the problem is I can't access to internet once I am using wifi for more than 36 hours about.
I think there is big problem for Android system related to wifi and 3G access.
I don't think it's a nexus issue at all. It is definitely something else. My phone hands over form wifi to H+ in a matter of seconds every-time.
I believe you might have a coverage issue.
I am having the same issue, and can confirm it is NOT related to coverage. A reboot of the phone will immediately fix the problem. Have also tried disabling the mobile network, then re-enabling it, with no success.

Well, nothing i've tried has worked so far. It looks like if it stays connected to Wifi for many hours (for example overnight), it just won't switch to mobile internet unitl I reboot or do the airplane mode trick. I also have wiped everything and reinstalled the stock rom, but the problem is still there. Has anybody fixed it?
Had this problem with my Nexus One, with my Transformer 300 and now with my Nexus 4.
I use German provider O2 and after doing some research, many people suffer this problem and have O2. I thought it was related to my SIM card and I ordered a new one without success. My wife has O2, too. She never had a problem, not with her HTC Desire, not with her Galaxy Nexus.
I worked around with free app WifiFixer Free, which connects to 3G every 60 minutes. This doesn't seem to work on Jelly Bean, though.
The problem is all but new and I am out of ideas. I now use an app that enters and leaves airplane mode upon leaving a Wi-Fi network. But it yet has to prove that it works...
Any news in here? have the same problem and don't know how to solve it. It's so annoying

I have been using redmi note 4g since a month now. And it has a weird feature.. It works fine with my WIFI connection but when I try to switch to my mobile data it doesn't work, I have to reboot for my mobile data to track its signal. Its very tedious to do this process every now n then. If anyone has faced this issue and solved it please share with me too..
Thanks

I do not encounter this problem.. Anyway have you tried turning ON and turning OFF airplane mode instead of rebooting? It has the same effect has refreshing mobile connection. Should save you from the hassle of rebooting

I have problems getting internet on my phone while i`m indoors. My network signal is full and yet i can`t open any pages. I can see the upload signal (the two arrows pointing up and down) but the download signal is gray most of the time. The settings are ok and i know that because the moment i get out on open space, i get internet and it works as it should.
I recently installed Phoenix rom and also Alliance rom hoping that it will solve the problem..but the problem is still there. Any thoughts?
Thank you
Bump !
Make sure the 3G signal is strong in your area?
