My phone is dropping every single call lasting more then 20 40 seconds. It suddenly turn off all receivers and the call of course ends at that point.
Is there any fix to this?

First try to set your wireless network to gsm only..try to make the same calls..if you have no more call drop issue...get your phone replaced.
I am one of the unlucky ones who are having serious issues when gsm/wcdma mode is selected.. basically when the signal strength changes and the phone is trying to lock to another cell..it simply disconnects and resets the radio..actually you can try running LogCat and see...just before your radio resets the is a process of usb host getting installed/disconnected and gets blacklisted..something like that.
If you are not having these symptoms than it is some other issue...try it out and see.
Normally cell phone providers have soft handoff where the signal strength decreases and the strength from other cell site increases and that site starts processing the call hard handoff happens between gsm and cdms probiders normally seen in roaming calls...by any chance are you in an area where reception is weak

Mine was dropping every call if it lasted long enough. Tried to flas with the newest ROM from Samfirmware, but no improvement. Tried to flas the modem in post #2. Hopefully this will help.
Seems to turn off all recievers both Wifi, 3g, cell. Showing only a " Ø "sign where reception is.

Hey all, I have a little (or a big) problem. It is so, that my phone sometimes loses connection. Than I can't call, send messages, go on the internet. So now to my question. Does anyone has/had the problem, and is/was able to solve it?
I wouldn't like to give my phone to samsung, because my imei corrupted (I don't have a backup of my /efs folder), I have flashed several times, and I rooted it several times XD and I don't have a backup of my orange fw (I live in Austria).
So please help me (if you can)!

WHich version do you have? Is there a specific time when phone loses connection?
I had connection loss problem and that was related to mobile internet. You can try to disable mobile internet and check.
For Original ROM, go to samfirmware.com and download the original ROM, update your phone to orignal ROM and go to samsung service center and tell them about IMEI loss. Just show that you dont know anything

sometimes i get disconnected... what i do is go into the plane mode and come back out... connection restored...
It started doing this after i got my mainboard replaced... so could it be hardware related?
It happens with me also sometimes. Going into airplane mode and coming back doesn't help. Restarting doesn't help. Replacing sim doesn't help. Even inserting another sim doesn't help. Only fix I have found is walking over to a different area physically. Atleast about a kilometer or so and it latches on to the signal.

Hey check the providers column in samfirmware.com.. The last box has the provider firmware you will get the orange firmware there I have seen.
yeah this would happen to me...bdw see that the mobile tracker is off...n plus wenever not required turn ur data service off...it will be off much help...!

now i switched to tata dococmo,call drops are gone but sometimes while talking signal goes off ,also i get a small message "refreshing sim data" and i cant use internet or any other signal related services for not more than 2 minutes,this happens about 10 times a day....
but still sometimes i lose signal[shows a diffrent icon instead of the general signal icon] which lasts for long time[once it happened for 2 days]....[this has happnd only 2 times]
is there any solution to this problem...like falshing with rom or official update

i think its the problem with docomo....my friends had docomo and they have MANY problems...messages not going through when it says its sent...
when calling phone randomly says other phone is off when its not ect
i suggest u stick to airtel or get vodafone...i have vodafone fr 5 months with

Got my phone a few weeks backs.updated it to 4.2.2 .There is this strange issue with regards to 3g connectivity.Mostly the signal strength is good arnd -93 dbm.I have full working Blue bars.But the problem is with the data rate and its connectivity.Most of the time i get the E signal but no upload or download activity.The data connection just dies.When opening chrome it is again regained.but after a few minutes it disconnects again.And the speed sucks too.
Also when the screen is off.It loses data conenction.
Any one with similar issues??Or a possible Fix???

Thanks for the repl. Reflashed did it all.but it did not work.Still data connectivity disconnects.I even tried out a new sim,in vain though.Also it disconnects after the screen is turned off.
Any other possible fix ??
This is an annoying problem especially when u need connectivity for almost everything in Nexus.:crying:

The issue has not yet been Resolved.just using another phone for time being. ..Hate this connectivity ****..
Been having issues with my phone where once it while it would disconnect from the network (happens daily). I live in Hong Kong and am using 3 as the network here, and am running RomAur 2.31 with PureXAudio.
(1) Has anyone had those types of issues?
(2) Are there any flashable RADIOs? (I remember updating my radio version on my previous Nexus handset, but haven't seen anything like a radio release here in the forums)

Yes, but not with that ROM you mention (well actually I am using 2.3), I had constant issues as you mention with only .350 ROM. Is anybody else asking the same question as you for that slight upgrade from 2.3 to 2.31?
Not aware of any other radios available for this phone, it is too new. The radios that you see around are typically created by the phone manufacturer, and as time goes on you end up with a great choice of radios to flash with notes about the good and bad people have discovered along the way.
Why did you update the Nexus radio, where you having similar issues or issues with your cellular provider?
All I can recommend is to factory reset and re-install the ROM, of course make sure you back everything up so you can restore it afterwards.

So, when you say this are you getting the X through the red network strengh indicator at the top, if not then your phone is not disconnecting from the network, just switching modes or towers

In Connections/ More Networks/ Mobile Networks/Network Mode choose GSM. You can choose LTE if you want but unless you are in an area that has non-stop LTE coverage, you will face the following bug: when your screen is off, it will lose the networks and stop mobile data. That wont happen when the screen is on and its really fast. So the solution would be to have the GSM option ticked and that way you still have mobile data even with screen off

Ok, it works, but if I select only GSM I have no 3g connection. And if I select GSM/WCDMA the problem reapears.

Didnt worked
I have the same problem when I upgrade from google edition of omegaroms. The Basevand version I'm on is I9505XXUBMF8 and I have tried using the modems in the install guide of 13.2 and nothing works.
now com.android.phone stops working. Can't recieve or make calls.

Everything went well, until I locked phone and realize that there is no network signal.
When I chose GSM only everything work.
I am on T-mobile.

I have the same problem.
I tried all radios and the problem persist.
Everything works fine on google editon, but I have to say that samsung roms are much usable.
Solution:
Do not use roms based on mj7, use roms based on mj5 or go back to 4.2.2
I have tested all radios many kerneles with many mj7 based roms and always had this problem.
With mj5 based roms and rom based on 4.2.2 android everything is alright.

Nop. That doesn't work either. It still drops data connection if you set phone to 4G/3G/2G, and you move with your phone on deep sleep to a low 4G coverage area. It gets connection back as soon as you turn on the screen...
Any other solution so far???

I'm having this issue too after updating to the most recent CM nightly. I thought it was the nightly, but after after multiple wipes and even different ROMs, I still seem to have this issue. My mobile network drops as soon as I put the phone to sleep. When I turn on the screen, sometimes it connects automatically, sometimes I have to airplane mode and back. If I change my mobile network to 2G (gsm), it stays connected. Wifi always stays connected it appears.
Ever since I got this phone i never once get any service i thought maybe the bored was done for but today I went into the town area and was surprised to see 3 to 4 signal bars on it i tried making a call and it worked, even sent an text message and it worked, funny thing now when I came back home I then again have no service bars whatsoever so I went back into town to see if I would get back signal again and i did..... Went back home for the second time and now no signal again, anyone know what might be the problem, I'm on slim rom 4.4.2 baseband XXUFNA5

Do you have a bad signal inside your home? Signal inside a house can never be guaranteed as there are many factors that affect signal strength - especially indoors.
I have an S3 and I get very good signal on that at home it's just something wrong with the S4 but i just don't know what... I get not one bar on it any else where, only when I go into town area

when you connect downtown, do you know what network you are (2G, 3G, LTE)?
It might be that near your home you only have (for example) 2G, but your phone is set to search for 3G only.
So I tried different modems and I flashed stock rom twice and still no luck, any other suggestions please

We might have a very similar issue, I also don't have a solution (yet).
My phone does not connect to 3G, only 2G and LTE.
To check if you are in the same situation:

then play a little with the settings there... (for example try 3G only).
see if you get any positive things out of this.
(as a note: in some of the options I can connect to 3G, BUT I cannot make or receive any calls - internet is working though). You can choose a single option only (try each 2G, 3G, LTE and see what happens). However, I strongly suggest to keep a combination of 2, see the note above).

Yes, its possible. Use Odin 3.0.7 or 3.0.9 and flash DBT (German) or BTU (UK) ROM. After flashing boot it up (but don't set up) and do hard reset either from Menu or use key combos.

The answer is in your picture of being in town. You are only connecting on EDGE. So my guess would be that you have bad coverage in that area, ie weak signal and no LTE.
Check your providers coverage map.
