Hi,
I've published a new git repository github.com/U8800Pro for our phone
I've started my work by forking G300 Dazzozo repository since he his actively working to Ascend G300 and he already get Firefox OS and Ubuntu phone port to his phone, and he is the only I found that get a CM-10.1 working on huawei devices.
Actually with my repo you can build from scratch a "CWM-based Recovery v6.0.2.9" with huawei 3.0.8 kernel built from scratch using gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease).
Done:
CWM-based Recovery v6.0.2.9
Todo:
Test cm-10.1
Build Instruction:
[tbd]
Thanks to owner of following repository:
github.com/fredvj/device_huawei_u8860
github.com/Dazzozo/android_device_huawei_u8815
github.com/ioz9/cm9_device_u8800pro (yes this is always ivan/qiwu)

I'd like a cm10.1 from source. So I can build ubuntu touch and firefox os like dazzozo does.
Since ivan don't release source I had to start from scratch.
let me know if someone wants to contribute...

Hope you can prove us wrong by achieving something similar with our phone based on what Dazzozo did on his G300
well good luck! If you got the skillz make a working 10.1 first, firefox and ubuntu haven't even sort out their initial build bugs,i think porting a buggy beta release is a waste of time but its your time,so have fun with it..!
I don't want to guess who and when but if someone will try to make new kernel properly I would like to emphasize the kernel bug which is a bit annoying.
Camera pixels displacement.
When you try to make a photo vertically 5MP quality it has several pixels wide picture displacement and in result you get photo with (in most cases) white line at left border.
If you change quality to lower it is not appearing. If you make photo holding phone horizontally this is also not occurring.
Some times you can even see that this line at left border has image parts which should actually should be placed at the right side of the picture seems like that line was cut out from right side and placed to the left border...
Since it is just in few pixels wide it is not making picture completely bad but as I said it is annoying.
I also saw pika has release new version of kernel so as I said I would not like to ask any exact person for this to take care but if someone will succeed please consider it as a bug that is needed to fix in kernel.
p.s. about g300 I bought that one for my wife so 4.1.2 is not for daily use. only 4.0.3/4 based on stock is reliable
p.p.s If that is not related to kernel that who could look at this prob? it is with most of 3.xxx kernel using roms
good work eddi, ubuntu touch work on g300 but is very very slow tested by me with my friend's phone

I suspect this... What about firefox os?
no my friend dont want to install firefox os, dpeddi talk me with gtalk when you can
Seriously ?? Ubuntu? We dont even have a fully working cm10. Ubuntu is outta range. Even in my dads GS3 ubuntu doesnt work fully camera doesnt work gallery craps out. I seriously feel we should work on ICS or CM10 first to make them better and the first and the foremost thing to do is..To get a higher kernel than 3.0.8.. anyway thanks for sharing the GIT

I manage to build touch and not-touch cwm through here http://builder.clockworkmod.com/ but i can't manage to fix usb mount...if anyone want to try it..its UOT like builder for cwm!!!

In case you need any support in testing the ROM, I would be more than happy to volunteer.

the honeycomb sdk was compiled for arm v6, the ics sdk was compiled for arm v7. zte blades only have an arm v6 processor.
so, we need the source code so that it can be recompiled for our arm v6 phones. There's a little bit more to it than that, so don't expect ics for the blade on the same day as the source code is released, but we need the source code before we can start work on a blade version.
hopefully we'll get a working port of cm9 (which will be based on ics).

once he's worked it out the source code for cm9 will be available, then you can use that.
using the aosp source code, once you have it booting there are still other problems to fix, like the touch screen, audio & ril.
everyone involved with cyanogenmod should be very busy fixing those problems, so it's best to leave them to it if you can't help them. they don't need to be bothered with questions.

Ok, this is just something I have been playing with and thought I would share.
It is CyanogenMod 7.2, as close to stock as I can make it. I have taken a lot from Ezet and some stuff from Forumber.
This is not source based as I do not have a grunty enough system to build CyanogenMod from source.
Most importantly, I have started on a new kernel based on the TomGiordano source here:
https://github.com/TomGiordano/kernel_huawei
My Kernel Source:
https://github.com/PaulMilbank/kernel_huawei/tree/cm7-u8800-35
Will upload my source once I can sort out the sources on my computer. I am doing some mods on Aurora kernel too which I will release at some point.
After a few false starts, I compiled the source with their cyanogenmod_u8800_defconfig and it works pretty well for CM7.2.
I fixed atmel vibration using DZOs aurora commits as a guide.
Probably most broken stuff is defconfig related.
Bugs:
Keypad LED's do not work
Autobrightness does not work
Light sensors do not work- probably the cause of the above problems.
Camera force closes
You tell me
Working:
Wifi works
RIL works
Screen/video drivers work well, screen does not suffer annoying no wakeup for me like other kernels.
Atmel Virtual Key vibration works
You tell me
Get It Here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?b2dc7kdmixvas18
I will try and fix all these bugs, but I would be keen for some help too. I don't have time to be a full time dev.
As always, I am not responsible for any bricks, fires or nuclear wars that come about from installing this rom.
Please, please backup with CWM before flashing this.

This is just to see if I can get people interested in development. I will try document as much as possible what I do and see if we can get some people interested in building a kernel and getting a really good gingerbread cyanogenmod build out. If this goes nowhere, I will just focus on Aurora kernel and ICS. There are a few things I would like to try and include in Aurora to add some features.
We need good 2.6.35 source and this is a good source with a few small bugs, probably due to the config not being completely right. Hopefully they are minor and easily fixed. We have a lot of kernel development going on around the place and we can learn from commits to make a really good build hopefully.
Will try their 7x30_defconfig to make a kernel for my B528 rom too and see what works.
If you replace the boot.img in this rom with the boot.img in Forumber's latest cm7.2 build, it sould all work and give a 2.6.35 experience close to Ezet's 2.6.32 build. It will likely not be as stable because LEWA kernel on my phone at least, is crap.

Thanks, this will likely take a while longer than I thought it would as I am having trouble getting my sources synced locally and on github. If we can pull together all the sources into a kick ass kernel, we should have a really good CM7.2, I would like a rom with built in tethering too. It will just take some time. Running through DZOs excellent repo with a readymade .config and then making small changes is a lot easier than having to make it all up as we go and sort out sources and configs. Maybe I should not have been so cocky at the start!

But you could compile kernel?
Compiling and downloading kernel is much smaller and faster. Also their are a lot of comments and files to follow.
Compiling cyanogenmod from source is a huge download and would take forever to compile on my computer. Plus nobody documents the process well and it us specialized to the phone.
Maybe if I can get a good kernel going, others can build cyanogenmod sources for .35 kernel. It all just takes time.

Guess it has something to with the "new" Adreno drivers. Might do some benchmarking later with the older ones. I haven't really experienced lagging myself though. it's kinda the same as w/ .32 based CM7 (especially when using ADWLauncher)
Hey guys.
I am new to android developing.
I started by porting the CM10.1 ROM from HTC Desire, but my phone is stuck at the Huawei logo when it boots up.
I can still flash another ROM, but that is not the problem.
I want to know how to fix this. I want it to go past the Huawei Logo.
By the way, I used this procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598713 and I used Aurora ICS 5.0 for the base ROM. I know it doesn't have the same version of android, but there is no reason I shouldn't be experimenting like this.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Currently, to port my ROM, I replaced files in port ROM from base ROM. Should I replace files in base ROM from port ROM?
Thanks for the help.
Hi Again
Hello.
I found out that there was a problem with the base ROM.
I have ported CM10.1 from U8800! Yaay!
But there are four things that are not working:
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Cam Recording
- Sound
Can you guys tell me how to fix the audio? In the logcat, it says that there is no sound output.
Thanks

I have just ported the Jelly Bean from u8800pro to u8800non-pro, so I will be working on this ROM.
Seriously, I have no idea when I will be releasing a fully functional ROM. Because I have my studies as well, so I don't get much time to work on the ROM.
The audio is working in this ROM (wasn't working in the previous port),
The things that are currently not working are:
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Video Recording
I will try my best to do as much as possible.
I am new at building android ROMs, so please don't expect too much from me
I will be needing some help from other developers as well.
Do you think I should make a thread for this? or is there already enough not-fully functional JB ROMs there?
Thanks.:good:

I know how you feel. I also feel that way.
I would like to build Jelly Bean from source, like Blefish is doing right now, but I need a 64bit computer for that (mine is only 32bit. Unless there is a hack for this, I can't build from source.
I think everyone is going to start porting Jelly Bean ROMs until one starts working. :silly:
Everyone is porting the rom with the intention of making ir fully working and then abandon development. Why don't you and others continue the work that is already done instead of making a new port which will end up like the others.
Like your are having compatibility issues due to your 32bit computer, perhaps our device is incompatible with JB...

Our device will remain compatible with every new android untill android will be using some new architecture of processor, so "sometimes it's better to stay silent".
OP, abandon your trials of getting a working JB using copy-paste ports. It can be only ported from source.
P.S.: just install ubuntu x64 and try to build something like CWM recovery out of forumber's source. If it builds, you can build anything you want. Today's computers know how to emulate x64. I'm myself using an old pentium d 820 (i386, sse2 and that's all) and I can build.

Now I and others also pick up a JB Rom, mod it here and there and then instead of 4/5 roms we can have dozens. Then again non working well. This makes sense?

And as for others: Instead of saying that JB is not compatible with our device and all that sh*t, why don't you encourage me and give me some solutions.
Anyways, I am not posting this JB ROM until it's fully functional, because I might stop development as well (getting interested in firefox os).

First of all, your CPU must support x64,If it supported, you can install x64 to you computer.
If you want install x64 system in virtual machine (like VirtualBox),you CPU must support VT-x or AMD-V (virtualization).
You can check virtualization and x64 support via SecurAble;

Hello OPX community,
I started to work on the port and its progressing nicely, UI is up also Wifi works now, but many things still don't work, so help is defintly appreciated.
Current status: wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Adaptations/libhybris
OLD:
I don't know if some of you know Sailfish OS, but its an OS that is not based on Android with an outstanding UI and UX.
And developers can port it to Android based devices like ours \o/
So I took the hand and compiled Sailfish OS and Android, but unfortunaly I don't really have the time to test since this is my only phone.
So I need someone to either test and report to me or what would be better someone that can develope further on its own after I shared my knowledge with him.
This thread is for talking about everything related to Sailfish OS.
Here are some useful links:

This would be my dream coming true...
I might be able to test it, if You can make a flashable zip. Is this build supposed to support android runtime? If I flash it, my recovery and internal SD remains untouched?

Android Support is currently not available for ported devices but there are some devs working on an open source solution.
Your recovery will stay the same.
Internal SD should stay untouched of you don't wipe it but it will probably not visible from sailfish but there was a fix for that, dunno if that is already upstream.

UI is booting up on the OnePlus X!!
Still having Jolla with me and running Sailfish OS on OpX hw would make it sweet.

I can say it's really really smooth :victory:
I haven't heard about this OS, is this some custom ROM, CM based? or what? :silly:

It's a completely different OS, it's based off Mer which is kind of a Linux distribution and on top of that sits sailfish OS. CM is only used on Android via libhybris to get the hardware working. In fact it's completely different from Android and NOT based on it like CM. It's real Linux as a mobile OS.
Wifi up
Bluetooth up
All sensors up
Audio up
\o/
Nice progression, thanks for effort. Had a Jolla-device before and loved it. The HW build quality just wasnt there. Altough, I'd love to get the opensource dalvik-emu to work some day, since I have a bad feeling about future sw development on SailfishOS.
Awesome. Sorry I haven't been able to get back to you on the latest build. I haven't had time lately. Life kinda showed up abf took my time with it. I'll try to observe it later.

Sounds interesting, may have to look more about it.

Development would be much faster if we multirom for our device

I could post it in a few hours, but than you don't have a camera, no LED and probably no calls (needs to be confirmed)
It would really be only a test build.
If I should do it, write it now
EDIT: Ah also Jolla Store is not working atm needs to be resolved server side. But there is still openrepos.

Nice! At work and don't have my N4 to try it, but interested to hear how it is running, so I can try out when I get home. Is it mostly functional?
Can you share the device and kernel tree?

Just for my own curiosity, how do you know what changes need to be made to the device and kernel tree? Do you use officially supported device/kernel trees as a reference, or is there a guideline posted somewhere?

The kernel is the used one in 7.1.2 and I added the Binder changes... the device tree is fixed by trying to booting and fixing the errors showed in last_kmsg .

Yes, I also flashed this and it boots. As you said, nothing works... But it is not less that it boots
I've been trying since the source of O is released and could not boot it. Your work gives all mako users hope to see a working O build :good: Thanks for the work!
Nitin
I as well got a semi-working O build, but was a bit short on time to work on it. Could we collaborate somewhere? Perhaps a hangouts group?
I've flashed from mako 7.12, kind of like upgrade from 7.12
Sources up.
I used the vendor blobs from TheMuppets.
