My Nook Color's running CM7.2. I have that dreaded "your device is not compatible" message from the marketplace. I've tried every solution out there, changing the screen density, fixing permissions then wiping the cache etc. but nothing works.
Well, I said screw and it just decided to sideload the app instead. However even that doesn't work. I download it with my phone, back it up with Astro, then transfer the APK to my Nook. When trying to open it, it says there's an error parsing the file. If I open it with Astro it says can't open as APK.
What can I do? I've sideloaded other apps before but they were downloaded from the internet, not my own backups.
This is the app in question: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ellevsoft.socialframefree
Edit: Just re-read the description, seems I need 3.0 or greater. D'oh!
I had this problem last week. I decided to wipe data, system and cache in recovery and reload my rom. Now the market works and I am able to download stuff that the market said was incompatible (and I knew it wasn't).

Hi
My problem is that some icons in the play store don't appear.....I have cleaned the data and the cache of the app(play store)
I have cleaned the cache and dalvik cache in the recovery
I have installed the app again
I have flashed a zip(with the app of play store)
And nothing works!! Some people say that is my internet(slow/) but I have been connected to others routers and the problem persist!! What can I do??? Thanks!!!
O and I'm running penguin ROM and stock kernel(the kernel have some tweaks in the build.prop........ There would be the problem??)
I have the same problem with the version 4.1.6 and with the 4.1.10

I first had this issue when I installed the Themer Beta App.
Whenever I try to download an app now, it gives me"Error retrieving information from server [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]"
I've tried clearing the data and cache for the Google Play Store, Download Manager, Google Services Framework, etc. I've also tried removing my Google account and going into recovery and clearing cache and fixing permisions. Anyone have a workaround for this?
If it matters: SGH-M919 T-Mobile OMEGA V12 on 4.2.2.
Help Would Be Appreciated :fingers-crossed:
EDIT: I don't know how or why, but it fixed itself, tried to download an app, and it worked, if anyone has any further issues, feel free to post here
Same here in Nexus 4,
i think their server is down
Em also getting an error " server down retry " on my s4.

DELETED
Im currently running Echoe Rom V13 4.3 and started getting issues with 'insufficient storage' on app update. The cure seemed to be deleting the duplicate entry for the app in data/app-lib.as the problem got worse I Eventually I re flashed the rom with a clean flash and all was good.
I had a few fc's on an app or 2 and thought no probs, I'll clean the caches in recovery after fixing permissions in ROM manager (as Philz doesnt seem to have a fix permissions option unlike CWM.
After this process I noticed 5 or 6 apps had disappeared from the phone completely. Strange. I'll just restore from Titanium. But trying every reinstall option and the app freezes.
Downloading from the play store brought the insufficient storage error back, but I could reinstall through My Backup.
So all ok now ? except going to update the new apps from Play brings back the insufficient storage message !
If I go into the app-lib folder these apps are showing 1 or 2 duplicates (I.e the file name with a -1 and -2 suffix. Delete these and reupdate and all is good.
However the issue then seems to 'spread' to other apps.
With hindsight this is exactly what happened at the start of the insufficient storage issue and the exact same apps disappeared. I really dont think its the apps in question (eg poweramp and Trustgo security that I have used without issue for years) but im confused as to what is happening and why ?

can you mount data in cwm if yes goto next step - if no flash stock rom via odin and do the install process all over again
if data can be mounted to fix 492 error do the following
open phone settings
goto applications
manage applications
select all tab
in the following apps clear data and cahe
google play services
google play store
google services framework
delete .android_secure from the root of your sd card (requires a browser that can show hidden files - the folder name starts with a dot)
go into cwm
format cache and delvik cache
mount system
flash the correct gapps
if all else fails flash stock rom via odin and start the install process again
for "error parsing package" it means one of two things
1 - the apk is for an android version higher than the one installed
2 - the apk is for armv7 only
