Hello,
I installed Sam's ICS RC2 for SGS and it's amazing, however, wifi works but I can't connect to network, the phone fails to connect. I have tried flashing other modem (XXJVT i reckon) without any result.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
having same issue but with another build of ICS

I do not see how a new modem will affect WiFi. AFAIK, the wifi stuff is built into the kernel.
Does this happen for any wifi network? Have you tried connecting to some other network?
If nothing connects, you might be looking at a factory reset and data wipe

Data enabled setting is for data transfer over GPRS/EDGE/3G networks, not related to WiFi at all!
Try (without warranty) the patch made by Pawitp for the build 10:

I agree. I may have misunderstood the question. The OP said that wifi works and he can't connect to network. I understood that to be the mobile network seeing that he is talking about modems.
Wifi has nothing to do with modems.
Aah! Now that I read it again... I think I understand what you understood. The OP is a bit ambiguous in that case

What I was saying is that the phone does not ask me for my PIN code and therefore, I can not make any call
I will try wiping later, thanks for your help

Perhaps it is an issue with the pin unlocking code. Can you put the sim in another phone, remove the SIM lock pin, then try it back in the Galaxy. It might narrow down the issue for the devs.
I have try ics on miui galnet! It uses JV5 as modem! My signal is the best! I have try more modem but with ics signal is very good! I do not test consume! If you want, you can install other modem! I suggest JPG modem! It works fine and less consume of battery!
My operator is H3g italy!
You can find you modem only trying it!
You measure performance signal (3g, 2g, wi-fi, gps) through apps market about signal and consume with time elapsed.
i'm using the zsjpg modem with ICS (for cyanogen kernels). very good modem.
edit: if the cwm installation doesn't work, try the updated version (like the new thunderbolt scripts).
edit2: it seems like the zip doesn't work anymore for new ICS builds :/
anyone else use this combo ? isyncr works on the phone via usb cable, cant get the wifi version to work. any tips ?
Yep
Having the same problem with CM10 and iSyncr. Only works over USB cable, not over wifi. Had the same problem in CM9. iSyncr Wifi hasn't worked since CM7. If anyone has a solution I would be grateful.
Moved to Q&A. Please post all questions there.

I'm having the same issue. After exchanging a couple of emails with their support the problem continues unresolved (and with no clue onto how) even in their latest version
I managed to sync via wifi (pc version) once every few dozen tries, but my last successful attempt was almost a month ago
RUnning CM jellybean and I can't get it to work via wifi or USB - really kind of annoying. and thier tech support is non existant. no matter stock rom or any other rom, nothing works.

After more emails exchanged with one of the devs, I made a lot of tests (trying do get the app to work on a number of combinations of ROMs/OS and and detailed it to them. If this will ever make the app work properly I can only hope
On a possibly related issue, anyone here that reposted this problem with isyncr also have a bug were the wifi disconnects after every few Mbs downloaded (either via file download, app updates, normal navigation, youtube, etc) and the wifi icon is still displayed as if it was connected, and mobile network doesn't kick in if it was turned on beforehand?
Because this is also a wifi related bug that a only very few users reported on the CM and MIUI JB threads. Could it be a bug in a specific stock ROM kernel used as base? What SBF file did you flash (or where is your phone from, in case you didn't flash a Different SBF)? My had a Brazilian retail SBF

Don't hold your breath, I went through this exercise over a 3 week period for the developers to just tell me there was nothing they could do about it, so I gave up using this product altogether.
did this ever get resolved ? still doesnt appear to work for me
Nope. As far as I managed to communicate with developers, they couldn't figure it out, and CM10 users seem not do stumble upon this bug (plus an uncommon combination of Device+ROM+app) very often, so it's a bug that gets no attention
iSyncr is working with latest CM10! I don't know for how many builds since it's been a while I last tried to use it, but I can sync music via wifi now
Anyone gets an Ad-Hoc connection working on Jellybean?

Same here...... just flashed cm10 to my icoo d90w.
Works great, but without the adhoc connect i gotto reflash it
Did some browsing but no luck yet.
Hope some briliant android wizard out there can fix it.
And stick it to google for removing it in the first place
Ok....kinda spoke out of line..
Donno how or why, but here is the thing....
I got a vrigin leo (that's gonna change in a hurry) when I turn on hotspot I can't see it on my cm10 flashed tablet.
But the stock hotspot from my wifes samsung ace I can see and connect with...
So it looks to me like the whole "no adhoc in jelly" applies from all things microsoft.

Not sure how Microsoft got anything to do with it. Cm7+ supported Adhoc connections while cm9 and cm10 does not.
Also adhoc does not only mean connect to a 'hotspot' but simply have a wireless connection between 2 devices thru wifi (without a router) to exchange files, stream music.....etc.
Its not supported on any stock Android rom but there were ways of archiving it in earlier versions of Android so adhoc networks showed up under your available wifi networks.
I haven't heard it working on any JB Tom's yet....

Hotspot with 2ndboot
Hi all,
I have installed the latest from here:
http://quarx2k.ru/cm10-2ndboot-nightly-defy(+)/
and can't get hotsport working. When I check the "Hotspot" button it keeps telling me "Turning wi-fi on..." but never ends (and gets never visible).
I am using a Defy.
Anyone any ideas?
thx
Ok i might have mis understood the topic here....
I have a d90w wich i reflashed to jellybean.(cm10)
When i reflased it i coudnt connect to adhoc wifi from my htc hd2.
Once i reflashed my hd2 to ics 4.0.4 (cm9) and i setup a wifi hotspot on it i could connect my tablet again without any probs.
So havn't tryed to setup an adhoc on a jellybean divice, but have noticed its a bit more picky when connecting
Hope you get the hotspot issue fixet
oh, would love if a solution for JB comes up

Question #1: Maybe the problem isn't the phone but the router. Have you tried a different phone with that router? Or your HD2 somewhere else? And no, radio shouldn't affect your WiFi *that much*. Also, could you please elaborate more? What do you mean by "not working"? Does it just disconnects, does it stay on "scanning", doesn't it assign you an IP address? What exactly is the problem?
Question #2: All JB ROMs are good.

Try tytung's 4.2.2 JellyBean its standard ROM and its very stable, fully featured and Tytung still updates it to bring to us best from his work.
I use it by myself and im not disappointed at all. Although i prefer tablet's UI which i miss from other roms :c

Can you please answer the rest of the questions?
Is it a problem with only this wifi connection or with all connections?
Have you tried another device?
You can try setting Google DNS servers. Also, if you have security on your Wifi, try changing its type.

If it occurs on many ROMs, its probably something inside the hardware (just guessing).
Try asking at local GSM service if You have any nearby

It's either the digitizer or the end button. Try to pull the end button after pressing and see if the problem is still there.
So I followed the thread and searched the ins and outs of all the comments. I saw issues regarding WiFi, but mine is a little different.
I tried 0.33, 0.48, 0.84, and the 0.84 hybrids just like the posts recommended.
Those radios allowed me to view WiFi networks in my area, except a few. I could connect to my own network... when I could actually see it. Sometimes I would have to disabled and re-enable WiFi several times before I could actually see my connection.
So wifi works, only sometimes. But if I switch back to stock or PA, I see my wifi network without any problems.
I'm starting to think it's not the radio's and may be my network compatibility with MIUI?
I tried Datsuns build and Kings build and they both couldn't keep a solid connection with my wifi network, but still able to see 7 other wifi networks constantly.
Any ideas of what I'm missing?
Thanks in advance

Tried that, same issues.
Going to try to do fresh installs when I get home tonight
I don't know what else to think other than something to be going on with my home network?
For some reason I see my neighbors wifi but not my own. Pretty much driving me nuts.
