Do a clean install of York rom then boot into clockworkmod and restore data only see if that works.

[Q] ICS Upgrade. Messaging App does not work!!!

Hi,
I just updated the firmware to ICS via Mobile Odin (very easy and painless btw).
Everything seems to be working smoothly, however, my messaging app (the one that looks like a white envelope) does not work after several resets.
Is anyone else having this issue. If so, is there a solution?
Regards,
It works fine here. SIM card setting?
Everything was working fine before the upgrade.
I was surprised since nothing was erased since I did wipe during the install with mobile odin.
The app just seems to crash when I try to open it.
I tried a test and sent a sms from another phone and the message shows on the bottom notification, but when I try to open the message, the mesaging app just crashes.
Any suggestions? Do I need to try another install after doing a factory reset?
Any suggestions would help.

(BACKUP FIRST)
I'd do a full wipe then a full ROM flash, you can find it in the dev forum
do an SMS backup using GO Backup, then try to do a factory reset
+1 for me!
Messages App does'nt work after mobile Odin upgrade to ICS!
Handcent and Go SMS pro are OK !
Anyone can posts the message APK so we can try to reinstall it?
Thanks

Have you done a factory reset without problems of brick? Good!

This app will not work in ICS. Motorola /Verizon sent messages out before they updated the Razr/Maxx to ICS that we would need to use a different messaging app.
Made a factory reset and the messaging app works!

Ok.
I tried several methods to get it working, but the only way for the messaging program to work is after a factory reset.
I tried wipe during the install, but that didn't work either.
Remember, once you do a factory reset, everything in your internal SD Card is erased, so be sure to make a backup.
Once you get the messasing working, everything is really smooth with ICS. Well worth the wait for us using the P6800.
Hope that helps.
i had same issue... i flashed ICS through mobileOdin pro... and backed up messages by using Gobackup i did...wipe/factory reset and wipe cache partition by going to recovery mode.. ... running smoothly now..no issue
Wiping the dialer storage will help.

[Q] Email error, also 4.3 update reappearing?

Hey everyone, well, school is starting soon and mine uses an organizational email, but when I went to try and add an account on my N4 it gave me the "Could not connect to server" error, I have been reading for ways to fix it and have tried some, from rebooting to moving apk and odex files to the system partition, none of these worked. I've tried setting up a corporate account and that didn't work either.
I am on 4.3 stock rooted, I received the OTA for 4.3 the first day I heard reports of it coming out, I installed it and realized I had to re-root, did so and now Root checker app says it's still rooted, everything works fine, not only does the email error come up, but the 4.3 system update notification is reappearing. I go to install it, it reboots to TWRP and I get an error in the log and it stays in recovery, no "Android is upgrading" prompt on reboot.
Anybody have a clue? I've read other posts about other users email not working after 4.3, anybody else have this 4.3 update reappear?
Any help is appreciated, thanks all.
Screens below:
The update is a new one. Only 1.8 mb but yes it does have the same message as the 4.3 update. No idea about the email problem. Also, ota updates do not work when your device is not 100% stock no modifications at all

Yes I have thoroughly confirmed it's the phone, I've tried multiple emails and settings

lollipop update stopped picture texts

I have a Sprint note 3 that is on page plus. The phone is non rooted but encrypted. A week ago I did the lollipop (5.0) update and it has caused my phone to stop sending or receiving picture text messages.
Andriod messenger will crash straight right after I click on it. I have cleared its data/cache and have reset app prefs with no luck.
The other stock app "Messages" will work but will fail to send or download pictures.
I have tried a 3rd party messaging app but would really like to keep one of the stocks ones. Does anyone know any solutions?
+1
Backup everything and wipe data factory reset with stock recovery. Probably it will fix.

Unable to send or receive MMS vs980

vs980
Euphoria ROM 5.1.1 (6/30)
I'm unable to send or receive MMS. Multiple messages say unable to download when receiving a message. Message will say sending indefinitely. Nothing changes after a reboot or using an alternative text app. What can I do about it? How do I check that I have the correct APN settings?
Any help would be appreciated.

No. But I did notice that when I reboot the device the sdcard shows up sometimes where it is suppose to (in root explorer). However, when I go to enable read/write (again in root explorer) it disappears immediately. Quite infuriating.
