Re,
In your file explorer have you a setting like "view or show hidden folders / files"? If yes tick the option maybe...
Also look at /data/media/clockworkmod/backup.

Not there either. I've searched every folder. It's only shows when I go into recovery.

Mnt>shell is empty on my stock ROM
I had cwm made many backups and just changed to twrp but my internal storage is all filled up and I cannot field the previous backups to delete... Any help?
I am having this same problem too and am searching for solution... I have asked all over the forum and also googled but to no avail. Help please....
Need to search harder...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38857026&postcount=18
But my /data folder is empty. I use root explorer and couldn't find anything in /data folder. Was previously looking for WPA_supplicant for my ap list also....
I am currently using root explorer and es explorer v3. ES explorer v3 doesn't have the root settings. I'll download the stable version from play store and try.
Update : I've got it working. This means only es explorer can see CWM backup and wpa_supplicant

Yes it does as I'm using it! Seriously, follow EVERY instruction on my post and look at the pictures
I did some testing on my own. Root explorer works too. Just need to toggle r/w from root location. Data folder populated after that. As for the latest es explorer v3, toggling root explorer will enable data folder contents to be viewed.

Which recovery did you make the backup with? CWM and TWRP save them in different spots.

With Solid Explorer? Try a different file manager. You could always just upload the backup to the cloud and download it on your PC lol
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
how lol?
btw i have to copy all the clockwork folder or just the folder inside the backup folder?
i guess i need also the blob folder with all that files in it..

Just the backup folder. If you open up the blobs folder inside there will be many more EMPTY folders (at least for me).

If restoring it on your other Nexus worked, then you don't need the blob folder.

Check the permissions in your mnt/sdcard whether owner and group are root and the there are full read write permissions.
You can always cloud upload and download and
Yes you need the blobs folder. I assume you have cwm6 and the blobs folder has important files..

thank you.
anyway i got an error flashing system file,so i had to do all from zero... :crying:
I can find the backup in the recovery. But there ar eno signs of it anywhere in memory on the pc or phone.. I read it is a problem on 4.2.2... is there a way to fix it..?
If you go to /data/media/clockworkmod/backup it should be there according to some posts, although for some reason not for me.
You should also be able to see it through the recovery itself. Try going into Backup & Restore, and select Restore. It should list the backup(s) you made.

Odp: [Q] After recovery backup I can't find it in memory?
Simple copy recovery file from mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup to any place on SD card (Downloaded for example) than copy that to computer. Remember to reboot Nexus after copy to SD card. Than go to main folder and remove original file and copy on SD. You need root permission to access shell folder!

if You got backup file in CWM it should be also in shell folder... on my nexus I found it there but I didn't install CWM by toolkit. What about to change explorer to Total Commander for example? Maybe its explorer issue?

It's in /data/media/clockworkmod - use ES File Explorer and it'll be visible. Then copy it to your 'SD card' and you can remove it from the phone
Can't find it with total comander also !

Then you don't have a CWM backup. Use ES File Explorer (not Root Explorer), give it full root access and then browse to the folder and they are there. I can provide screen shots if you'd like?

Try this. Use Total Commander go to system folder tap options in right up corner of screen. Tap there search and write clockworkmod. Remove other search options and tap search. If there is somewhere clockworkmod folder you should see it.

Attached are the pictures on how to find it in ES File Explorer (View them in order)
1. Open ES
2. Go to Settings>Root Settings
3. Tick all boxes
4. Click on the 'Favorites' box (circled in red)
5. Click on the 'phone' icon (circled in red)
6. Click on 'data' (circled in red)
7. Click on 'media' (circled in red)
8. Voila - you can now see the 'clockworkmod' folder!
You can now long-press the CWM folder and 'Cut' & paste it somewhere else (e.g. 'SD card')

ive tried 2 root browsers, neither worked.
anyway i switched to TWRP and dont have the proble anymre, but thanks for your assistance!
I finally got fed up with reliability issues of CM (system crashing/freezing/etc) so I'm going back to stock (and I'm using the most current stable version). I took a stock backup in February using TWRP but find CWM to be more reliable so I use that now. I took a backup of the CM install today, using CWM, before doing anything, but I cannot find it. It doesn't appear in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backups although when using CWM, I can view past backups and even restore from them and it's saying it's coming from that directory. Any clues as to how to view these backups so I can copy them to my PC?
I granted my file manager root access so that shouldn't be the issue. It only shows a downloads folder under the clockworkmod folder, no backups folder with the actual backups in them.
Thanks for the help,
Spike
Did you check for any hidden files? Or maybe any other folder.
