What is the best ROM for SGS

Hey ,
guys what is the best ROM rigth now for SGS ( ROM + kernel )?
im looking for good battey and the fastest that can be xD
i dont care about the design
what u guys think?
the ROMs i have been told that good are
Simply Honey
CM7
what u guys think about this 2 ROMs ?

I think the best one is the stock JVP, with a fugumod kernel. Install a deodexed so you can install mods, like gtalk with video, a Gingerbread theme and you're good to go!

but what if i will flash that kernel with simply honey rom?
its may work or its will make a problems?

Go for what's in my signature.. And i've tried lots of gingerbread.

juwe rom + dark core kernel for me. fast n nice theme

Tweaky's ROM, DarkCore kernel, Gingerbread launcher from Market. Best combination for me. Fast, stable and nice looking (stock glass screen, stock Gingerbread theme, 3D app drawer).

The best rom that i've just found for my SGS after 2 months is:
Rom: RomKitchen jvp (all the basic stuff, you don't need all the crappy things for Samsung) with Modem JVP
Kernel: Semaphore_kernel_JVP_1.2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112908).
New drivers, compatible with Tegra: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1087427).
I removed for caution software update process.
I OC'ed my phone to 1200 mhz and works very well. Only one freeze in 5 days.
The Quadrant score is ~ 2200 - 2750. (i know it's irrelevant but i had to mention about this)
The phone is really fast - i can compare with CM7.
The battery life is very very good.
Take a try and tell me if you like it.

agreed dont know how everyone can say get gingerbread when it has bugs that are not in 2.2.1..
there is a battery drain bug .. may be fixed in 2.3.4 not sue
there is a non working vpn bug over 3g
there is a non working adhoc wifi supplicant
bug
non of these bugs are in 2.2.1
also my favorite kernel for 2.1.1 is speedmod.. i gut almost 3 days of battery.

Don't forget that while CM7 is a fully independent ROM, and MIUI is based on CM, all the others are based on stock.
So by taking a clean deodexed stock and patching it, you can get exactly what you want - but not the crappy themes and buggy mods we often find in stock - based ROMS.
Actually the best ROM is probably the one yoi generate from the kitchen, but I don't know if JVP is available yet.

Goatrip 2.0 for me, best ROM by far & I've been through a few

there is no one "BEST ROM" the question is what you looking for.
some have more battery time and some look better than the others.
so like isaid, the question is what you need and want

JVP with Tegrak under ONEnand Mode I suppose.

there are no such best ROM, but features u wanna have on custom ROMs. U need to know what is ur preference then choose ur own custom ROM.
Speed? definately CM7 but its still on beta.
Speed and features? Juwe's but a bit dull on the black and white.
SGS 2 apps? Tweaky ROM
Kernel? I suggest Talon 1200. Still on dev but still gives best performance and battery saving.

[Discussion] The Best Custom ROM!

Galaxy 3 has a lot of Custom ROMs right? So which one do you think is the best one?

For me, Kyrillos Rom was the most stable rom i had ever tried.
After which is CyanogenMod 7. It's more stable than Kyrillos but i miss some features like bluetooth etc. But it is balanced by the ultra cool theme changer app which is no match to any other rom.
I have never tried Kyorarom rom ever but i have heard that it is also good. But still i don't know anything about that.
Well, you forgot the Indroid rom series. Their project has been closed but i still remember that Indroid rom where one the most stable and had their own unique stuff, like the ota app etc.

Don't open this sorts of threads... many have been opened and closed/deleted/ignored as its really user opinion. User A will say kyrillos rom is the fastest, user B says kyorarom is the fastest, user C says dark lestat's rom is rhe fastest. Basically every1 will say different things, besides, theres a pole in the faq section about which cRom is the best.

Every one has their own kind a requirements on a rom what is a important feature for one will be useless for the other so id suggest u try all the roms u want and stik the one u like.

To all those with a lot of knowledge to all custom roms, please post the most complete custom roms or at least the ones with least bugs and issues.

CM7 is great and what im using right now but have issues with camera in video recording...

Cm7.2 (52) is great, but not work radio fm and the default app crash on the video recording hd.
all custom roms I've tried work well, I tried:
1) arconium
2) aniking
3) mod xperia
4) Fasty
I still think that the best is the SE.TWEAKED, as a general balance, lightness and speed.
All tested with V15 DoomKernel

MIUI I miss, but even that seems to have something that does not work properly (FM radio, HDMI, and anything else I can not remember).
Which version you recommend?

Guys, very recently i got the S2 for my bro and let me tell you that i am hard core SE fan and that is why i still want to hold the ARC with me
That said, i find the stock samsung's ROM very stable usable and fast, especially when compared to SE's stock ROM
Any comparisons/experience to S2's Stock/custom ROM with ours?

One of my classmates has a S2 and I had the stock ROM + SuperCharger V6 @ 1.4GHz on my Arc (arconium 5.6) now and I couldn't see a real difference

Take stock ROM, root it, de-bloat it (uninstall all the system apps you don't use), set up SuperCharger and you're good to go.
Don't be fooled, only CM7 is a real custom ROM.
All the rest fall into the category I described: rooted, bebloated stock ROMs.
Oh! And if you need extra speed and you're willing to sacrifice a few hours of battery life, unlock bootloader and flash a custom kernel.
That should do it.

Agreed. No point messing around with custom ROMs when the stock ROM only needs cleaned up a bit. Don't see the benefit in Supercharger if you have already uninstalled all the crapware as there's nothing running on the CPU to consume the battery power
I have had the LT18i since it came out and it's lightning fast and the battery life is great. Nuff said

Yes I did the same. But still Arconium is a lot faster and lag-free compared to cleaned stock with supercharger and the same overclocking. Really it's the best and fastest rom together with CM (if you like that) and I tried a lot. The only downside is you will get worse battery performance in stand-by (twice as worse; up to 3%/h)when you install a custom overclock kernel even at the same clock speeds. So first try with stock kernel and of you need more speed (like 1.4GHz) go to custom kernels.

IMO Complete custom ROM is MIUI as if now with less bugs. CM has few bugs that has to be fixed. As stated above other are just modified version of stock.
@iridaki : When can we see your T.E.A.M ROM?

I wouldn't recommend JellyBlast because development for that rom has already stopped plus jellyblast is a banned rom, others may not help you when you encounter problems.
get BeautySense if you like sense ui (htc phones).
however, you may want to check out other roms out there
I tested alot of stock based roms and I liked hyperion 8 pre gm the most.

+Transparency in some apps
+Stable (no statusbar fc or anything)
+fast

I was stressing on the fact that we don't know what you like or are interested in , so for example I like AOSP Roms (Pure Roms form google) which has been slightly modiied but you may like Touchwiz more than stock android

I suggest you to Try CyanogenMod 7.2 Optimized by Android-XDA. Thos rom is an AOSP rom. Hyper Light (65 MB = More space for user apps.) Then this rom is really fast and Smooth. I didn't checked if thos rom has Arabic support, maybe. However, i think it's possible to add it. Check this rom you will not be disappointed.

See different people have different taste and use for a rom. So if you like more space, go for cyanogenmod
