Setting application list not showing names

I have a problem with the application list under setting, it displays the file name instead app name on the list. Is there a way to correct this so that I can identify the apps directly. Thanks for any help.

So it says something com.android.settings.apk instead of just settings?
Id suggest to do a backup then a full wipe.

Hi, I did a reset and wipe everything, it has the same problem on a clean device..

I believe this is a bug in the HK firmware that the "manage application" under settings shows only file name of apk and no icon as well as name of apps.

I have the same problem, and I'm also using a HK firmware in my Tab - any solutions yet? Seeing only package names when trying to find an app to uninstall is a bit of an inconvenience..

Intercept App Events

Hi All ,
So i have a simple Question :
How can i Detect when an Application(Any App) try to access to the Location features for example ,
i have seen this App : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.security.lite wich can detect those Events , for example , when Any App try to read SIM Card or IMEI , the App Notify the user & the user can Accept or Reject , thats why i am Asking , even if i need Root , this is not a Problem ,

Android is Linux type, so anything which is not a root user app, and wants to access root dependent functionality will require “su” or “sudo” command associated while accessing that particular root related thing. You may need to dig around that, as to how you can be a super user and get all access permissions filtered by you/your app.

[Q] How to remove or change contact in emercency list in lockscreen

Hi, Anyone knows how to how to remove or change contact in emergency list in lockscreen? I added contacts there, but then i found out there is no option to change it or remove it once its added.

I have the same problem as you...
my emergency contacts where configured at first by adding them to the "ICE" group... but now, even if I remove them from this group, they are still shown in the emergency list on the lock screen.

You can remove emergency contact button if you're rooted and have Xposed framework and Wanam xposed installed - doesn't remove the contacts added, but removes the ICE button so it wouldn't bother you/
Alternatively you could always wipe cache etc and factory reset.. long drawn out process but it should work.

But is there a way to edit what's already in place?

I found how to delete the emergency contacts... And it was very easy.
On the emergency calling screen, press the menu button. You will be able to delete the contact from there.
Also, delete all contacts that you want to remove from the ICE contacts list in your phone.

App crash (FC) randomly

Hi,
I recovered my S7 Edge (SM-G935F) with new motherboard after having "Bootloader Exception".
Now, I have FC with some application like :
Phone
Messages / ChompSMS
CloudMagic
Contacts
Bluetooth in settings
I think the common point is : contact.
The application appears frozen and don't respond : if I wait -> FC.
If I reboot the phone : everything is working. Then a few minutes or hours : FC.
If an application freezes, all other listed are also blocked.
I restored the phone with Kies: nothing changed.
Without SD Card or SIM : same problem.
Unsync Googles contact : same problem.
Clear cache of frozen application : same problem.

Flipkart app read otp sms without permission

I installed and run Flipkart app for first time on my mi a1. Entered my phone number and pressed sign up. Received sms. App read it without popping up the sms permission dialog. I checked the app info and sms permission was off. How did this work?
I'm still on 7.1.2 with November security patch.
