same here. I am using LG wireless charging pad

that's normal unless the phone overheats and shuts down charging. Wireless charging will heat up your phone faster than usb. i wouldnt worry unless your phone overheats and stops charging, this happens at 40-41 degrees Celsius.
BTW questions belong in the Q&A forum.

Battery charging

I was just wondering if it's normal that your battery gets warm while you charge your phone. I'm using the usb port on my head unit in the car and I wonder of it's any different?

My phone doesn't get hot while charging. It really doesn't get hot at all.
My phone doesn't get hot what so ever.... Charging, texting, browsing web...

I did notice that it was a little warm when i was on the phone while it was charging from the wall. I guess I'll try it for a few more days

yeah - mine's charging right now and it's warm enough to feel thru the case i've got on the phone. On the samsung vibrant there was a problem with them getting real hot as in too hot

Hot Battery

My phone is getting so hot while it charges that it is uncomfortable to hold. Are any other people having that problem? I'm afraid it's going to over heat to the point of no return.
Mine sits on the bed with me when I listen to Pandora at night. After a few hours I reach over to kill the tunes and it is hot. Not painfully hot but very concerning hot.
Yeah, when my phone was on the bed covered by my blanket, and my alarm was ringing for quite some time before I woke up, it was pretty hot. But it cooled down in no time.. so I wasn't worried. And it has happened twice only in my days of using the phone.
I can use mine for hours and hours and it doesn't get hot what so ever. Listening to music while browsing the internet and taking calls in between...
My Battery seems fine. I use setcpu with notifications if it goes above a temp. Never got one. and i check the temp now and again.
and it never feels hot at all compared to the vibrant.
So you guys think maybe I have a defective device? This morning it was was like my own personal hand heater.
I don't let my device get over 98 degrees farenheit. If its getting hot while you have it under the covers and listening to music for hours, you should consider not doing that anymore.

My phone has never been under covers while running. It heats up when I charge it which I can't stop doing because it needs power to survive. Also, it's spelled "Fahrenheit."

Right now when I put my phone to charge it gets extremely hot for some reason...I'm using the charger it came with and in just 10 minutes charging it gets to 112 degrees fahrenheit..i am running setcpu to the minimum when asleep and it still gets super hot for some reason..can anybody explain why it gets so hot?

My G2 gets hot when i charge and play angry birds at the same time... Sometimes it gets super hot when I charge from the USB port of my head unit (5V @ 500mA, I dunno if this affects anything).
It's pretty intermittent for me.
Also do you have a case on it? I have the black Tmobile gel case. I don't know if that acts as an insulator lol. I haven't checked temps
I had the same issue... I listen to Old time radio at night while falling asleep. Upon wake up one morning to an alarm on my phone stating my battery was over heating.... I ripped that sucker right the H3!! out and threw it in the garbage just in case it exploded.... scared me so bad that I went on amazon and bought a pillow speaker LOL

Maybe broken?

Was just playing minecraft. A nice marathon and all of the sudden the nexus 7 goes off, but before doing so the screen starts to do a bunch of different crazy flashes and static. And now it wont come back on, and when I I plug it to the charger it sounds weird. Like if I put it close to my ear it sounds like electricity.
Anyone else experience anything like this?

Hi
I had the exact same issue a few days ago.it appears that the problem was to dip with the battery and charge.once the phone went below 11% it would shut down.I restarted it and after several attempts the thing would start but then I would get a fuzzy screen and static from the speakers.
Unfortunately you have a defective unit, if your issues are the same as mine. Best to do an RMA.

Got it booting again, that was weird.
It's ok if you don't let it drop below 11%

I had the exact same issue, but it occurred when I drained the battery to 0% while it was plugged in to my computer. Apparently, the USB ports on most computers don't provide enough juice to keep the N7 alive while using it. I just long-pressed the power button (for around 30 seconds) after it had charged for a bit and the N7 booted right up.

I have no idea why it would happen to an N7 randomly at 11% but have you had this happen multiple times?
Sent from my Paranoid Nexus 7
Yes.I ran my nexus 7 down about 3 times and at 10 to 11% the screen would turn off, the system shots down and it takes a few attempts to try to restart it.
First you get a static noise from the speaker and then when you boot it up, the screen goes fuzzy and shuts down again.
You let it sit for 10minutes and let the battery charge over 11% and it works again as long as it's still charging.
I returned mine.the defective one was the c7
I now have a c8.very small screen lift but it works well otherwise.probably won't exchange because the lift is barely visible

[Q] WTF is going on?? Charging/battery issues..

Has anyone else experienced this? Just started happening today. Restart did nothing. Phone was plugged in up until right before I took the pic.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I have never seen anything like this before.
Whoo, doesn't look too good.
Your phone was draining while it was charging. Got this with my old galaxy s too, and it was a fault at the chargers side.
Try another charger and see if it acts normal.

[Q] Wireless Charging Stops at Random

I have already submitted a similar thread, but this one I am going to keep shorter and simpler. I purchased an LG WCP-300 wireless charging pad from Verizon to use with my Nexus 4.
Sometimes the phone completes its charge, but it usually get to around 60-80% (depending on how low the battery is when I start charging) before randomly stopping charging. How do I fix this?
tl;dr wireless charging stops at random sometime in the middle of the night, but not all the time.
Optional details:
Pad is on a level surface and I have affixed some rubber grips to the top to hold the phone. The pad hasn't fully charged the phone for about a week now, but it does do some charging. I can get BBS logs if those will help anyone.
Maybe it stops because of overheating?

I also thought that could be the case, but my phone never gets hot while charging. :/
I had similar issue with my aTab 4, the problem was the USB charging cable. I never seen such thing before.
But i replaced it and it works just fine now.
