I have unlook my bootloader, but i Not loosing my BE and music Info, it working fine. I have root. Should i feel me lucky?
Sorry for my Bad english
u either haven't unlocked or you have. When you unlock you are required to wipe so you would lose everything.
I lost my data and All. But my BE and music Info works. I think i loose my BE function in my xz? It works for me and i have root on my xz.

Honestly not 100% sure. I didn't lose it on my other phone (though maybe I did, I just didn't notice LOL).

Cos according to this thread for bootloader unlocking,
I'd add what losing DRM keys means, e.g. no more Music ID/Gracenote within the Walkman app plus probably most importantly, as asked all the time and all over the place in the T/mint forums: loss of Bravia Engine.

Could you provide a screenshot with BE on and off too see if there is a difference.

Well, I'll need to check on an unrooted phone just to be sure.
But AFAIK there is a noticeable difference.
Boy, I'm glad someone else has mentioned this. I unlocked my bootloader the same day I got the phone. I didn't want to lose the bravia engine but I wanted to root the phone so it was a necessary sacrifice.
But...I still have Gracenote and haven't noticed losing any music data. And I still have the option to use the Bravia Engine. It's ticked/checked right now and, to be honest, my screen looks fecking gorgeous.
If I have lost the BE, I can't say that I really mind..

Me too. I don`t want to loose BE & DRM keys, but need root so much. Maybe with 4.2 release there will be new rooting method w/o BL unlocking. We`ll see..

Why cant we have some application to capture mobile screen shot??
We have an option in Home++ launcher!!
Is there any way to bring this into DEVs notice..
You can use MyPhoneExplorer to capture screenshots. This is certainly not a dev related topic.

Couldn't be any more straightforward, though I think he means taking Screenshots in-app, on the phone.

You have to root your phone and then have a chance to brick it
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
it's highly unlikely that you'd brick your phone after rooting.. it's only really a problem if you start flashing custom kernels or boot images.. even flashing a broken ROM won't brick it if your Boot image is untouched.

I bought MyBackup Pro or something like that. It has a pretty good UI. I use it mainly to back up texts to their cloud. They have a demo version if you wanted to check it out.
Just root it. Its pretty safe. Make sure you get a recovery that works.

I use titanium backup as just a means to keep the apks of apps I've bought and and downloaded off the market so I can reinstall them after flashing a ROM. Restoring apps + data causes me nothing but trouble as in apps going 'rogue' and draining my battery by not letting my phone go to sleep. A fresh start for every app is recommended.

Might try mybackup pro. Not as good if you aren't rooted, but it does back everything up.
I just wanted to give my opinion about rooting, I'm sure a lot of people like to do so, but on this device I don't think that you need to, I did a root on my .gs1 because of lag, then my arc needed more then root lol but my sgs 3 so far the best phone that I ever seen, not perfect, but as for lag, battery life, speed its top!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
There a a ton of reasons to root besides lag.
I have an app that requires root that keeps my clock in sync with the actual atomic clock time. The system clock will, over time, be too fast or too slow which means that eventually my phone is a few minutes off.
I have an app that requires root that is used to freeze/quarantine bloatware.
I have an app that requires root that allows me to backup not only my applications, but the application data as well.
I also enjoy root for custom ROMs and kernels that have less lag/stutter than the phone normally does (and yes, this still applies to the Samsung Galaxy S3).
There are always reasons to root.
I understand, I'm not saying not too, for me if the phone is good I'm leaving it stock

Root no >> then no Nandroid and No TB no Ad Blocker . No push apps .

Rooting has absolutely nothing to do with reducing lag or anything at all performance wise.
Rooting just gives you superuser permissions on your device.
Even if you are running an octo core phone with 5gb of ddr3 ram, rooting still offers benefits.

Galaxy Phones are hard to hardbrick (not revivable through simple software and/or a 2$ USB-Jig)
By following the instructions in the General section ('following' meaning 'reading', not 'assuming' or 'trying') you're on a quick and painless root.

You guys have been doing really good with developing ROMs and all but, how come you guys haven't considered working on Kexec? Considering that is our only current idea for a bootloader bypass.
If any of you guys agree, then post here and share some ideas.
Might be because there is a way to unlock your phones bootloader. Either via Sony's unlock website or through alejandrossimo for $24. But yeah. I think I saw a thread as a wip for kexec.

No developer could code before they learned how to. And chances are they learned because they wanted to help themselves instead of relying on others.
This needs popcorn.
Just learn it.

Let's not start a flame war, guys. Kexec isn't as necessary for us as it is for Motorola devices because we actually do have a method for unlocking. Sure, for quite a few of us it actually costs money, but we still have a method. If we didn't, someone would have figured out a way around, but since they didn't need to...
Please produce games devs can someone send me a quote for a simple avoid/collect 2D one screen game with local and internet high score table, I will produce the pixel art. No need for optimization if it's difficult.

they are easy to root - but your issue could be with flashing ROMs. if you want to flash a custom ROM (4.1.2 or later) you will need to unlock the bootloader - and Motorola has prevented the unlocking on builds after Apr 2013. so check the build date for your device. if it reads May 2013, then you cannot unlock the bootloader (currently). if prior, then unlock it!
