I wanna change IMEI

hey i have DOPOD 838 PRO and i wanna change the IMEI number.... Iunderstand all the risks involved in it but i still wanna do so. So anyone can help me with this plzzzzzzzzzzzz

I doubt anyone here would openly suggest a way of doing so as it's illegal.
And all your other posts suggest something very fishy....

There are lots of "good" reasons, like "I stole the phone and hope to hide the fact" or "I want to defraud the manufacturer" etc...

Oh, and FWIW, I thought US law specified "ESN" and therefore I thought I'd read that IMEI changing isn't actually illegal in the US. Of course this was a while ago, and I am *NOT* a lawyer anyway.

Easy and legal way is this - unplug halfway through an update, or fry the board somehow, send it in for a warranty repair with proof of legal purchase, and they will replace the board which also changes the IMEI - there you go, a legal and easy way to do it.

I think most courts would agree that's fraud. Fraud isn't legal by definition.

OMG!!!!!!! so now i have been tagged as a THEIF..... I asked for keypad solution just because someone REALLY changed it........ and i was just curious about IMEI number like wht if i change it........ people here come out with their own conclusions just cause they feel something is fishy here...... well a simple answer here would be that " NO CANT HELP COZ ITS ILLEGAL " and not that blaming me for being a theif..... i needed help so thats why i post my problems here and first time i got som real help...... i was online to post for a new ROM installation help but now i feel that i shouldnt post anything here...... Your first post suggests that you wanted it changed desperately. Now, in the post above, you say you're just being curious....
Something veeeeeery fishy, methinks.

Fantastic idea, you should be banned. Being what you are you will probably reregister. My suggestion to you is that you send the fone back to the poor guy who lost it. When you lost your phone didn't you wish a decent fellow found it and handed it in. Go on and do the decent thing.

The only "legit" reason I can think of to change an IMEI is if you live in Turkey and bought your device in another country. A stupid law there puts honest people in a very difficult situation.

To be fair lads, as far as I'm concerned, we can discuss mechanisms for changing the IMEI, as it's an aspect of xda developing, and the founders of this forum did some of the seminal published work in the field.
However, legitimate reasons for imei changing are limited or questionable.
zahirsayed: if you can make a good argument for why you need the IMEI changing, some people may help you out. Otherwise, it's normally implied that the obvious reason to change the IMEI is as a result of a friend of a friend giving a friend a phone... we don't promote that kind of immoral behaviour. But we're all for bestiality...

About to wake up from my dream.....

So I was wondering...
and shopping...
and comparing...
and deciding....
And now my mind is pretty much made up about upgrading (that means selling my dream, already got a buyer so don't ask, and buying the Nexus unlocked from google) to the Nexus.
but...
To all you dream devs I love your work, and just want to say thanx.
Also, How many of you, other than CM, are moving on to development for the Nexus?
And will I be able to flash roms like Super- D, and WG- Y on the Nexus?
Or are they Dream roms only?

Im still waiting on the Htc Legend to be released. Ill prob wait till mid-end year around bday to get a new phone. But the Mighty-Leo is a nice looking phone just like my zodiac sign.

That looks nice but the prototypes had lag with 256MB ram which is to little for the UI. Hopefully those bugs get worked out by sony.

hes offering $275 as is, rooted and loaded with apps, good body condition just usb door is missing.

confirmed hd2 has more than 2 point multitouch not like nexus one screen

after I have asked here and never got answer i have decided to contacted htc and asked them about the hd2 hardware support for more than 2 points multitouch ,they told me that it supports more than 2 point multitouch but the os limits it to only 2 point multitouch

Yes the hardware on the device should support more then 2 points of contact on the screen at one time. thanks for these useful info but every time i post anything here they says to me where is the prove for what you write

I thought this was already confirmed. The software has always been the issue, not the hardware. I can't wait till someone comes up with working drivers for true multi-touch.

Function key on your laptop and 'prt sc'. Or better yet, use the snipping tool, lol!

Now theres goes down another feature which barred HD2 from getting WP7S. Now we only need confirmation on the Hardware Image Scalar and well be sure of the HD2 meeting all min reqs of WP7S except missing Search button.

I doubt that's the case. I'd imagine that if the Nexus is only dual-touch, not true multi-touch, that it's again a software issue.
Capacitive screens, by their very nature, are multi-touch (or so I believe). Correct me if I am wrong.

the nexus one degitizer was proved to be synapatics touch screen 2000 whish does not recognize more than 2 point multitouch ,

The htc hd2 is so attractive. i have been playing with it all day. I get a lot of low memory and crashes but other then that the phones quality is superb.

It doesn't look edited to me mate. You did post login details for that page earlier tonight. Maybe someone else did it and he just took a screenshot without realising. You could be having a go here at someone that was genuinely trying to help you.

Perhaps he is pretending.....

On behalf of some considerations ,it might be good for them to support devs cuz what z,j and other devs doing is ,in certain point of view,elongating the life span of their product,they can just save money to elongate the life by releasing the RSA key

The only thing I need to be 100% happy with my X10 is the bootloader cracked to have a kernel which allows overclocking (at least for the moment I only need that xD)

Well, besides digital tv and frontal vga cam, its the same phone? other thing that is very important... we get the same updates as i9000? do we have official 2.2? if so, our phone takes long to get updates?

Personal message mmelo76 He is our moderator and lives in Brazil. he can tell you alot about how the Vibrant works in Brazil.
I have Family in Brazil, and My understanding is the Vibrant works but you may need 2 things, the Portuguese language package from the I9000 and you may need to change the setting in the Banding setting....... but contact MMelo he is our moderator and he Lives in Caieiras - SP and uses Claro as his carrier, Welcome hope that helps you ..ciao

in fact, i prefeer in english, in used to it, my last two phones i always used in english.
So we can use some i9000 stuff? thats pretty cool!

just got my hands on mine! sound/amoled screen is pretty cool. bought raging thunder2, found the accelerometer a little slow to turn the car. well now to the froyo update and darkys 2.2.1 hehe
any sugestions of a cool gps program? thanks!

Guys, i really need help... Well my phone got a problem... first day using it, and im almost sure i will have an HARD time to exchange, since the seller is a pain, and i bought from internet
there is a small area, above the samsung logo and under the square buttons (contact, message, etc) that dont get touchs. about the "phone" "message" letters, you can see it here :

Well, i searched on the net, and on this forum and got no sucess. i know it seens to be an hardware problem, but at least im asking him, if it could be any kind of software issue, kernell, etc, i really dont know how the amoled display works.
The fact is that i spent all my money, that i took a lot of time to earn, on this phone, that was my dream, and know, on my first day, is becoming my nightmare. any sugestions of what i should try? if worth trying to install custom stuff?
Any help would be apreciated... it seens to be a small area, but just some things thant dont work :
on horizontal : u cant type "dot"
on vertical: cant scroll back the status bar when its down, cant click on "now playing" in music player
All this can be avoided turning the phone, but man, i paid a lot in it...

ODIN back to the way the phone came out of box, and it might fix it, if not, its a hardware, which idk about.

i updated my sg5800 with odin, well, i think i will give it a shot

a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant is SGH-T959, are you referring to the model number as sg5800 because if you are don't do my method, your in the wrong section i believe, this is the t959

im thinking in trying darkys before the stock firmware... but right now, i dont think i cant get any sucess...

im searching for a screen aligment utility, it could fix my entire problem in a second... if i could move the screen about 2 milimeters up, it would "fix" the entire problem

2 milimeters sounds about the same height of the notification bar.

i would say i half the notification bar, and my problems would be solved...
isnt it possible that it cant be done...
