Australia > Europe Flash?

Hey,
I just picked up my new i9000 today and I want to re-flash it to remove all the bloatware that comes with it from the Telecom that I purchased it from.
Now, I want to know if it is OK to flash with the Europe firmware or will it fall over because I am in Australia?
Any help or comments would be great.

All good mate ive flashed to F7 and FB no issues, Vodafone works straight away but as normal you have to reconfigure your APN's again for 3G

Did the upgrade, went through fine. Unable to select default,supl as my APN type though. Only have Internet, MMS and MMS + Internet.
Any idea why I cant see this option?

The european f/w does not have any pre-installed APN settings. Hence when you press Restore, nothing comes up.
Try to ask your provider what is the apn settings. If not try to google it. Hope that helps.
P/S: I got the Asian f/w but flashed with the europe f/w JFB. I have to set my APN manually. If after setting manually doesn't work, reboot phone. It will work, at least for my case.

hi, i flashed my phone from DXKB2 to XXKB3 to solve my gps problem.
the gps works well.. but here come another problem.. im using digi, now i couldn't send mms... contact the service provider but non of their solution works.. insert the setting manually but it cant help too... hmmm.. may i ask for help here?

where did you set it up exactly? APN settings? As far as i know, manually setting it in the APN would do the trick.

So do i...quite annoying.but i'm lovin it XXKB3 + deodexed

Try apn restore and download apn backup somewhere in this forum..it got SEA apn include singapore indonesia and malaysia. Try ur magic search pal..

now i could send mms, but sometimes fail
i request the setting again from Digi Online Customer Service, then i check the APN setting, inside Digi Internet, need to change the Port to 90.

[hear people said this rom was stable, no gps issue]
the only problem is the mobile data network[3G/2G]
whatever i click "Use packet data" and "Data roaming"
it can't work
before that,DXKB2 can work, so i think not the hardware issue

Setting the APN then done

S4 no signal...Help?

I finally got around to unboxing my S4 and foolishly took the update to 4.3 last month. I managed to root and install TWRP,
then sat it for a month till the battery arrived (Zerolemon 7500).
Okay, i loaded both Hyperdrive RLS15 and ShoStock..... phone operates fine, but when I insert my SIM,
it does know it's rogers, but NO SIGNAL.
Modem issue? I'm frustrated.........back on my S3 now.........
HELP??

If Odin the stock firmware. I believe you can get it at sammobile.com for the i337m which you appear to have. If you still have problems it's probably hardware related.
Also, make sure your apn is correct for Rogers

It is likely your apn settings, there is also a 4.4.2 modem available for i337m in one of the threads

How do I set APN?? I've been in the Mobile Network menus, but there isn't an option to choose Rogers.
Frustrated!!! And I can't find find the modem............

Google Roger apn settings. Check those against what you already have. You might have to create a new apn or edit what you have

To add to it, I even went back to the stock 4.3 after I rooted and I have no connectivity........MODEM?

I had a random thing happen once like that, sound strange but power off the phone, take out the sim, wipe it down, rubbing alcohol works good, make sure it is dry then fire up the phone again....

APN settings

I flashed Twi5ted rom and I'm trying to get my mobile data and text messaging working. I can't find where my APN setting is at. Not seeing it in mobile networks. Anyone know how to get to it?

I found how to get to my apn settings. I flashed the rom and then the kernel. Checked my apn settings and they are blank. Can someone tell me how to create a new one?

More AOSP rom options

If anyone is interested in using AOSP, I recommend checking out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=68115024.
Please read the entire first 3 posts.
Depending on which rom you decide to try, you may need to edit the updater-script to be able to flash it to your device. @TheBr0ken has made a change, so any build after 8-28 will be flashable for us with no updater-script edit.
My setup:
N910V (retail converted to dev)
TWRP 3.0.2-0
CPD1 bootloader
CPF3 modem
T-mobile BrokenRom(8/29 build) on Verizon network

Hey, I have a question. I'm running Broken Rom. on N910V. But it shows that I have bars, but I cant make calls or use SMS. Any tips?

I'm not sure, I just flashed it and everything worked. The thing I'd check would be the APN settings. I attached what mine are (That's what it defaulted to)
Also check to see what your preferred network is set to. It should be on Global or CDMA LTE/Evdo.
Edit: What bootloader/modem you on?

Ummmm so youjust had to manually re-enter Verizon's APN? T-Mobile ROM already have it? The only APN on my note4 was Verizon's but it's not SIM LOCKED cricket postedthere APN on there website I manually entered it and worked fine. What APN's came on the tmobile (just curious having recently played with network settings. )

Omg why the fuk do you have VZW listed like 10 times in APN selection? Did yours come like that ? I had 1 lol

Yeah. That was assumed when u said t mobile ROM . I wantedto know what u had to set to get your mobile data to work and if your APN settings included all those VZW gateways or if u entered them and if so why ?

Everything worked as it should from first boot. I added the others for testing purposes.

Even the stock MMS ? Mine didn't . Had to get third party app (Textra)

ASOP roms contain apn settings for as many carriers as there is info for, thats 100's. They are based initially on mmc/mnc set within the SIM. There are multiple apns for the same mmc/mnc for Verizon. Same with T-Mo. I currently have 22 APN listings in my APN settings that use the same mmc/mnc as T-Mo. Generally the best match is found to get registered within the network. At that point the default APN selected can either remain the same or change automatically to a better suited match. If you don't have any APN's then the system failed to acquire a best match. If you only entered one, then you'll only show one. If I deleted the 21 listed APNs that are not used but share the same mmc/mnc then I would also only show one. Honestly you can have 50 listed but as long as the correct one is selected then the rest can be ignored.

Really ? Must be unlucky then in selection . I run emotion currently but have run cm and lineage and didn't get any . I was starting to think they must be loaded apart from ROM inititially. Where would I look (in the ROM zip to see the APN settings ? Honestly never thought of this but if your right which sounds feasible they would need to be in there....somewhere in the radio?
