Hello everybody,
I'm wondering if I could get WhatsApp on my Asus TF300T Tablet without a WhatsApp backup from my mobile. I've already searched a lot and nothing worked so far. My device is rooted so it would be easier :cyclops: right?
Greetings,
Giovanraaij
What's wrong about using a backup?
Backup your whatsapp with titanium on your smartphone and restore it on your tablet - wouldn't that work?
It does on Nexus 7 though

it does so on the tf300, as well

Why dont you just download and install a whatsapp apk but not from the playstore? That should be working too, I guess.

Guess that won't work as it needs your phone number to activate

I'd like to have it on my tablet as well. But for it's the other way around. Rooted smartphone but not tablet :/
Any suggestions?

before I rooted I just installed whatsapp straight after downloading the apk from the official whatsapp site and started the procedure using my phone number (I too don't have a smartphone anymore), it will not detect any sms since it's sent on the phone but if you wait for 5 minutes you'll get a voice call from whatsapp giving you the code to verify the number, since I'm I have a tf300tg it runs without a hitch but when I tried any tf300t roms it showed the "tablets are not supported" message so I don't know if it'll work for you without root. Note that if you get it to work and you do have whatsapp installed on a smartphone the first instance of whatsapp will cease to work, so we will need to re-verify the app but it will then disable the tablet's whatsapp, you can only have one whatsapp account, if you really need 2 devices to work with whatsapp then you need to buy a new number and ask your friends and family to add it to their phone book as you. Hope I helped in any way.
The best way is to install Market Helper,
and then activate your TF300T as a phone.
Then you can install WhatsApp or Viber without a single problem.
If you are installing WhatsApp - just wait 5 minutes and then you will have an option to receive a call with an activation code.

Hi,
I'm new on this forum and hope I can get some help here.....
I own a ASUS TRANSFORMER TF300TG and what I'm asking is:
1. As the TF300TG has a Bluetooth is it possible to pair it with a phone and use it as a phone (somethin like a combination with phone and car audio)
2. As it has a sim card slot (used fot data transfer) is there any chance to use the TF300TG as a phone?
At least point 1 would be nice to make it work
No go, for both...as far as I know...
well, as I know, tf300tg can be used as a phone when using a custom rom.
for the bluetooth pairing, I haven't tried it yet.

I have ASUS TF300TG and I have a problem with my 3-wifi connection.
I use wifi most of the time at home, when i leave home 3G should goes on,directly BUT my 3G/broadband says NO INTERNET CONNECTION instead.
I believe that it might be a software problem rather than a hardware one.
any advice?

Does it work if u try your mobile's sim card?
yes, it works if i restart my tablet with the same sim card. then gives the same message after some time.
I tried different SIM cards from different companies. They work fine at first then gives the same NO INTERNET CONNECTION message.

have u also tried to update to latest available rom? i know there have been some difficoulties with some versions..
I did install the latest UPDATE as well im currently running 4.0.3 and since i got my tablet updated , it restarts by itself for no apparent reason.
But i really couldnt understand what could make this 3G problem.

Stock ROM, Root and CWM
Not a place to be found for a clean ASUS Transformer Pad TF300TG Stock ROM with root and CWM :crying:
Some did succeed but seems there are a lot of trial and error going here.
PS. Not a spot on the forum as yet also for this device. Guess we need some more patience....

on the galaxy tab 10.1 3g they have reenabled the phone module with an hacked framework-res.apk (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875024 ), it should be doable on the tf300tg too in theory.

i use airdroid to move things to and from my pc but it never works that well from android to android with dolphin browser, would a differnet browser make a difference?
use wifi file transfer, i used it to transfer files from my phone to my friend's ipad https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smarterdroid.wififiletransfer&hl=en
of course, the free version can only allow you to send files of a certain size, but you can do a little search on google, for the full version

Superbeam may do the trick!
Definitely pushbullet. I use it to transfer around my tablet, phone and computer over WiFi and it works like a dream!

Ftp Server Pro is good for me, but it's more for connection between PC and phone/tablet. The apps mentioned above: WiFi File Transfer and Superbeam looks very easy to use.
Gold evening everybody!
I'm working on an APP for organzing private lessons im giving. Recording the stuff i taught etc. So not that many data records.
However, i'll Start using a tablet the Nest weeks besides my loved phone. Thus, a sync between these two would be am essential point.
Are there solutions for that? Do you have and Tipps? I was seeing a solution by using the gdrive account as transitional cloud storage.
Alle the bests and i hope you know what i mean.

There should be a list somewhere of all this pre-loaded bull**** so you can remove it without missing any.
Without root you can't install WA+.
Disabling WA ist maybe possible, but anyhow, you can't install WA+!
It's so unbelievable from Samsung.
I've written Samsung and complained about this. Also on Facebook. Public is always more effective. Maybe if more complaints come, possibly something happens
Facebook App ist also a System App and can't removed, or no old version can't be used.

Not sure what would actually be effective. People have complained about pre-installed apps on Android for, what, five years now? It's never done any good, and the hundreds of millions of additional Android users since back then clearly haven't made the complaints any more effective, either. The option of rooting is there, for people who want to completely have them removed from storage. Otherwise, disabling the apps gets rid of the icons and takes care of any performance hit. The actual size they take up is less than one half of 1% of device storage, so they're really not a big deal. It's just the psychological effect of knowing they're there. I've just learned to ignore it.
After coming from the Nexus 5 with its lack of expandable storage, I learned pretty quick that a couple megs for a stock app make a poor target for blame when I'm angry because I've got nowhere to put a 500+mb game I bought.
-Edit: On the other hand, when a preinstalled app makes it impossible to install another version of the same app from the store, it might go further to train yourself to treat that sort of thing like a bug. Report it to their technical support and act incredulous that they'd let such broken behavior into a production release. ;P
