Asus transformer tf300tg - Transformer TF300T General

Hi,
I'm new on this forum and hope I can get some help here.....
I own a ASUS TRANSFORMER TF300TG and what I'm asking is:
1. As the TF300TG has a Bluetooth is it possible to pair it with a phone and use it as a phone (somethin like a combination with phone and car audio)
2. As it has a sim card slot (used fot data transfer) is there any chance to use the TF300TG as a phone?
At least point 1 would be nice to make it work

No go, for both...as far as I know...

well, as I know, tf300tg can be used as a phone when using a custom rom.
for the bluetooth pairing, I haven't tried it yet.

I have ASUS TF300TG and I have a problem with my 3-wifi connection.
I use wifi most of the time at home, when i leave home 3G should goes on,directly BUT my 3G/broadband says NO INTERNET CONNECTION instead.
I believe that it might be a software problem rather than a hardware one.
any advice?

Does it work if u try your mobile's sim card?

yes, it works if i restart my tablet with the same sim card. then gives the same message after some time.
I tried different SIM cards from different companies. They work fine at first then gives the same NO INTERNET CONNECTION message.

have u also tried to update to latest available rom? i know there have been some difficoulties with some versions..

I did install the latest UPDATE as well im currently running 4.0.3 and since i got my tablet updated , it restarts by itself for no apparent reason.
But i really couldnt understand what could make this 3G problem.

Stock ROM, Root and CWM
Not a place to be found for a clean ASUS Transformer Pad TF300TG Stock ROM with root and CWM :crying:
Some did succeed but seems there are a lot of trial and error going here.
PS. Not a spot on the forum as yet also for this device. Guess we need some more patience....

1. no
2. no
Both questions have been asked before if u search around a little

on the galaxy tab 10.1 3g they have reenabled the phone module with an hacked framework-res.apk (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875024 ), it should be doable on the tf300tg too in theory.

Sounds very good idea ... did any one tried that ? I am thinking to install it, but what would be the consequences if it fails ?

Connect 3g internet pen to our asus

hi. Has anyone connected a 3g internet pen to our asus tf101?
If yes, whats the model of it.
We can use this topic to make a list.
If other tablets using android can do it, I suppose we can do it also.

There's already a thread covering getting 3G modems working here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151097
In short, it can be done with some huawei modems but you may need to change rom and/or wipe the transformer first.
thank you for your answer. i did search, but on my x10 mini pro, that was not a easy nagivation in search results.
i am looking at that tread.
thank you!

Can you take them back?
Contrary to popular belief, some bluetooth devices are not compatible with some Android products. Just like with Windows.
Are you rooted? Custom Rom?
Unfortunately I tossed the packaging, so returning is not an option. It works fine with my LG Revo so I'm fine with keeping it. Just a little bummed that it won't work with my a500. I'm rooted running kjy's honeylicious icy faux rom. I doubt its the rom, likely incompatability issues like you said. Thanks for the reply.

Finally got it to see, pair and connect! I didn't realize I had to make the a500 discoverable for it to find the headset. Can anyone say brainfart.

Each time I put my serial number in there it says invalid.
Anyone get from UK get in there?
Exactly the same for me.
From the few posts about it on here, i wonder if this is why the UK models dont seem to be picking up OTA's...

If your having problems try this
If updates are not appearing as expected, try going to Settings - Applications - Manage - All - DMClient - Force Close/Clear Data/Clear Cache and then reboot. Next, go to Settings - About - Check for update.

Guys finally I was able to log in to the devicetracker site. This is what I did different from other times, I logged in using my google account (the one I use on the device) and I have my pad connected to the internet, not sleeping. I also, used Firefox. Oh and I have the google location services ticked on that might help with the location on the map.

Mic audio not working on 10.4.2.18 with Google apps and Skype?

I unboxed a factory fresh TF300T, ran the OTA update to 10.4.2.18 and love this thing dearly except for...
...the fact that there is no working mic in audio on any app (Skype, GoogleTalk, Google Voice search and Google now) EXCEPT for the Asus-provided voice recorder and Camera apps! I know the mic works, but any app that didn't come with the stock rom can't use it. Any one else experience this with stock 10.4.2.18 or any other build?

Download an app like z devicetest and test the mic that way. If it fails, looks like you got a defective unit.

I have a stock device and have never had a problem with the microphone on any app.

I did, and it's totally hit and miss. Z device testing fails, but I CAN record audio with some apps (Smart Tools' db meter registers input).
I'm wondering if I should wipe/root/rom it up, since this is stock and if the mic works at all with some apps and not others it's probably software, not hardware causing the issue. What do you think, void the warranty and try flashing a custom rom or RMA it?
Thanks for the help!

i use airdroid to move things to and from my pc but it never works that well from android to android with dolphin browser, would a differnet browser make a difference?
use wifi file transfer, i used it to transfer files from my phone to my friend's ipad https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smarterdroid.wififiletransfer&hl=en
of course, the free version can only allow you to send files of a certain size, but you can do a little search on google, for the full version

Superbeam may do the trick!
Definitely pushbullet. I use it to transfer around my tablet, phone and computer over WiFi and it works like a dream!

Ftp Server Pro is good for me, but it's more for connection between PC and phone/tablet. The apps mentioned above: WiFi File Transfer and Superbeam looks very easy to use.
