Anyone get from UK get in there?
Exactly the same for me.
From the few posts about it on here, i wonder if this is why the UK models dont seem to be picking up OTA's...

If your having problems try this
If updates are not appearing as expected, try going to Settings - Applications - Manage - All - DMClient - Force Close/Clear Data/Clear Cache and then reboot. Next, go to Settings - About - Check for update.

Guys finally I was able to log in to the devicetracker site. This is what I did different from other times, I logged in using my google account (the one I use on the device) and I have my pad connected to the internet, not sleeping. I also, used Firefox. Oh and I have the google location services ticked on that might help with the location on the map.

I just got mine updated to .24 as well. I checked the official ASUS development thread and it was reported to be a few days out, but I guess Google approved it, didn't enforce the quality check, or ASUS just went ahead and released it. Anyway, let's see how much of this firmware is a fix to the reboot problem.
One should do a cold boot after updating. See asus Facebook thread.
Got mine right now. And I was just about to root this thing. Hope it helps out.

Ics to .24 us
I downloaded the .24 firmware and went to install and got halfway thru and got droid on his back with the yellow triangle.Rebooted and when i unlocked a window popped up and said DM CLIENT has stopped.I went to settings apps ,manage apps pressed all to show all apps went to DM CLIENT cleared data then forced close and rebooted. After reboot went to settings about tablet check updates and got the .24 firmware update and pressed to install and the update went in smooth as silk.Just posting this incase anyone has this problem. Mine might have come from that i waas rooted on .17 and went back to stock for .21 because ota rootkeeper didn't work and when i cleared that and installed stock .17 and updated to stock .21 ....so hope this helps someone
Hmm..of all the things people are experiencing, Gmail crashing is the one thing not happening to me at all (on any release).
I just got .24 update and surprised , now we have faceunlock thing , It works great , not perfect , I don't see any difference here but I hope they also fix rr and sod which makes me sick

Gmail has always been fine for me too. The only real issue I have had is the RR's and only in deep sleep. Until the last patch (.21), they were always clean. Since then any RR I have gotten has resulted in a boot loop or frozen at the Asus logo. If I run WakeLock, no RR's at all. So heres hoping .24 will fix the one issue. I will add .24 did not break my root either.....applied the patch, restored root, did a cold reboot, turned off WakeLock and all is well....so far.

Well, I was starting to look for methods because I'm sick of the reboots. I was on XDA looking for a method when all of a sudden, I saw the update. Will still look for a method since this update wasn't 4.0.4.
Oh and the gmail app has never crashed for me.

I have had Gmail crash, but its really intermittent and tends to come and go in ways I cannot explain. Sometimes any email I open will make the app freeze, but most of the time it works fine. So far, no Gmail crashes on .24 for me.... yet.

It's a hardware revision problem. Some people experience force closes in applications like GMail due to (I suspect) a memleak in the GPU driver. Lots are effected by it but don't notice it unless they do a lotta stuff in gmail. Others have no issue.

Hi guys, does this update fix the problem where you can't wake the TF101 with the keyboard dock's keypress (with the power saving feature disabled)? Since ICS was released up till the last update, this feature has been broken and it was working very well in HC but broken since ICS was out for the TF101 - is it working now (or has it been working before for anyone in ICS for TF101)?
Hey fellow Transfomer users, I've recently started this thread on a security issue on the TF700 Infinity and I wonder whether it affects other ASUS tablets as well. Are you able to use this "feature" without being asked for allowing any privileges on your device? Is CMClient (& possibly DMClient also?) responsible for it too on your device?

wow, okay this caught me by surprise now.... why wouldnt they tell us about this?... just tested it on my tf300 and its tracking me
Exactly my point. Thanks for the update. Seems ASUS doesn't respect our privacy at all, even if they state otherwise. This should be enabled only when agreed to on by a few clicks on a device really, in spite of agreeing to anything when logging into this Device Tracker on the web (who reads those long user agreements?), while it's enabled on the tablet by default and triggered in the background without any notice. Perhaps it's just going to be this way these days.

I agree we should be given the choice to activate or deactivate this app or service when we want... I like the idea that if my tf gets stolen that I can track it and lock it etc... but the fact this was kept from us raises some questions as you said.... but what are we gonna do.... anyways thanks for the heads up on this.

ASUS in fact is spying on us: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30305551&postcount=21
I was wondering what CMclient was...I've noticed sometimes that it "stops unexpectedly" when I shut off the wifi. Asus really needs to clarify their privacy policy.
i frove the CMclient and the DMclient and freezing the DMclient makes the settings crash if you try to check for ota updates not sure about the CMclient

Yes. go to /system/app and remove the 2 files: CMClient.apk and CMClient.odex.
i wanted to be safe so i removed the 2 files: DMClient.apk and DMClient.odex too. after removing those files there is no "check for firmware update" in setting anymore,
but before that i backed up all 4 files so i don't have to worry
DMClient is responsible for OTA updates, so no wonder there is no functionality. Further details are in the original thread linked to in the OP, just click on it.

I wandered over here to see if anyone else got this update, or knew what it was supposed to address. I didn't even see anything on the ASUS site. I did bite the bullet, but then again I'm not rooted or anything. I'm good with stock.
I was just comparing my system details to the OP and the kernel version and system build numbers are different. Just curious is your tablet rooted.
So far so good. Market is still very slow on installing apps. Haven't noticed much of a difference from previous version, but still testing.

I wish I had root for it but that has to wait for end-of-warranty unlocking or a new method to root JB. I'd clear the dalvik-cache & repair permissions if I had the chance but that has to wait. *sigh*
I had plenty reboots on mine, but then I noticed that it had something to do with the power button. I sent it to warranty to change the power button and I never had a reboot since that. I did this update too and I can't notice any diference.
Updated this morning from WW_epad-10.4.2.13-20120907 to WW_epad-10.4.2.17-20121018 and Voodoo rootkeeper restored root without any problem.

Mmm... spoke to soon.
1/ On boot I get 'starting apps' and 'Android is upgrading' messages everyboot (just for a second each)
2/ BSplayer will no longer work (would not start at all) or re-install. Trying to re-install gives an 'insufficient storage space' error - not true planty of space available (17GB+).

I was going to suggest the same solution. There must have been a change in 4.1 this thread shows the "email" option http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/33777/forgot-security-lock-pattern-on-jelly-bean-device-with-wifi-and-3g-data-turned-o
its not a lock screen pattern its a password and wifi is switched on
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
If the bootloader is locked, a factory reset is the penalty paid for forgetting lock screen tokens/swipes. (Especially if also the ROM installed is not rooted.)
ADB won't be an option with a 4.2.2 stock ROM - you can't connect without unlocking the screen first.
I suppose it is possible that there are market apps that run on first install & you can force them onto your tablet via the web presence of Google Play (e.g. Android Lost). This can be done as long as the tablet has Internet connectivity and valid Google creds. But I don't know if they have the capability to directly unlock the screen - but perhaps there is a way to gain a thread of execution.
Even from there it is a steep uphill climb (& next to impossible if the ROM is not already rooted).
Good luck.
@OP:
BTW, perhaps you noticed: you failed to mention whether the tablet was either
(a) rooted or
(b) has a locked/unlocked bootloader.
Those are pretty important details.

Factory reset time for you. (Unless you possess a heretofore undisclosed rooting method that can be injected via an unprivileged, network-reachable thread of execution which is launched (run on install) from the Android Play market.)
