totally forgot. Read those too! Those are great threads to read before posting up any questions, if you run into any trouble, etc.
One more thing...read and read and read and read. You have an expensive phone...all the info you need is here...but do yourself a favor and read for a few days so you understand what you are doing. That will limit your questions and headaches…
There are very helpful people in theses forums and they are more likely to help you after you have you have tried to help your self.

Congratulations on breaking free. Just one piece of advice in addition to the links others already posted - to make your life on these boards more pleasant, use the search before posting questions. There's a good chance the info is already available.
Thank you .
Im reading all this through the app so kind of.hard to read it all bearly getting used to the phone too thanks tho and I will start reading .

Welcome
Like all ....welcome the above posts have provided links, remember a couple of things, Go slow at first before changing up the phone... get used to the phone. Look at the apps here and on the android market
Look at the development section in the Vibrant forum and read alot of the posting and links about the custom ROMs. The people who made them are superior to the service provider developers.
Once you are comfortable with your background/reference education then, start modifying the phone. You are going to find this is SUCH a good phone to customize, and way user friendly than others I have used in the past. Good luck, and welcome
Welcome +1!
We're here to help as long as the question hasn't been posted 15x10^n times =) Reading is integral to learning more about your phone. Peek into the dev forum but don't post any questions in there unless directly related to a ROM you've flashed (and even then search the thread for your answer [there's a search thread button at the top of the page]).
There are many good people on the forum even when the get short tempered due to "failure to read" syndrome.
Congratulations on a wise purchase, your phone is only going to get better (we've got some great devs ).

Thank us? You should demand us to thank you.
So, yeah, I'm new here, too, and your ROM and all the stuff are the first ever for me to first ever root on my first ever smartphone. You should feel special for that. lol I'm a total noob (see, even a noob can admit) and technologically challenged (not a retard). When that one stranger on Sprint forum told me about XDA and warned me that the place are not "friendly" was something that I learned to be wrong. People has been so helpful to me to get to where I am today. Yeah, nice place, good boy Devs (females, too, if any).
lol. since the begining? way back in 2010? zomg. a true lifetime.
You guys trying to piss off another developer?
I do appreciate everything you've added to the community Mystery. You're always willing to help other developer and themers with questions. Emotionless Beast was the first theme I loaded on my Epic, then modified to fit my tastes, which got me into building themes myself. If it weren't for people like you, there wouldn't have half of the developers we have now.
This place is crazy... where is the love !

No, but seriously, the number of people saying thanks or clicking the button here on the play forums is very very dismal.
I have an IncS & frequent that forum a LOT more than here cos the play is my wife's phone.
I post quite less but read through most of the threads in the dev section.
You guys have some really awesome developers & contributors and they have absolute zilch to show for it.
i think the devs thanks meter here should be quadrupled at least looking at the efforts & the time spent.
Plus there are loads of helpful members who actually help with the right advice.
the thanks button is there for a reason boys & girls, use it! it's free!
am sure you all feel happy to see your posts getting thanked, why not those who actually work for it?
in the IncS forums the number of devs are less & the number of 'super devs' are even more lesser.
it's like even if they sneeze there are like 20 thanks...
not putting anyone down anywhere but boy am sure the big boys here deserve a lot more thanks (and donations if you please )
anyhow thank you all - devs, ppl who contribute & help others and basically the play forum...
it looks like a happy family to me
keep it rocking guys

Totally agree with everybody here, big thanks to all the developers that have made our plays worth owning, it's obvious to see among the comments in some of the play threads that some people clearly have no idea the amount of work that goes into all the peeerty things that we get for FREE and the developers make for virtually nothing!!! I hope the donations cover the redbull required but sadly I doubt it :-( BIG THANKS TO ALL THE PLAY DEVS AND CONTRIBUTORS

This is where you come in, I have an Ultra Light HTC One ROM sitting on my desktop, but I need someone to test, so, submit your applications below
I need someone who:
1) Has sufficient knowledge of how Android works
2) Knows his way around the /system partition
3) Has great English and communication skills
4) Has a few hours of time everyday
Simply post below with your name, age, location, and if you fulfill these requirements.
At the moment, I need no more than 2 beta testers, so please don't take it personally if you are not selected.
Honestly, I need someone urgently, and, this ROM will not disappoint, rather, the size, speed and battery consumption of the ROM will blow you away

I'm 20 years old from London, England. I'll have a lot of free time soon as my last uni exam is coming up. I have rooted and flashed 1000's of roms in the past, you could call me a flashaholic What do you mean when you say familiar with the system partition. My names James. I'm 19 and from Coventry, England. I have been in the Android world for a few years now so I have a pretty good understanding of Android in general. I have a lot of free time as I work from home (lucky, I know ) and I have experience with the system partition as I have flashed all kinds of ROMs/kernels/mods etc over a multitude of devices and therefore lived in the system partition at times
This sounds like a nerdy lonely hearts column

I could help out if you were looking for additional beta testers later on, but my knowledge of /system is a bit limited at this point in time. I'm really interested in learning about developing ROMs, so seeing parts of the development process would be really interesting to me.

Where do you think Blade stands? I have made a first beta, and no, its jot desensed, HTC Sense and all the widgets are there,
Just, make a thoutful guess, what size do you think Blade for the HTC One is at?
Cheers

I'm thinking of getting 1 or two developers too, since a few of you seem to be good developing

I actually wouldn't mind doing a bit of both. I'm doing application development this summer so I'll be up to speed with Java in a few weeks and if I had the chance to help with dev work I would love it
