[Q]Crysis 3 problem - Windows 8 General

I hav crysis 3....
As i run setup it says this app can run on ur pc...
Help?
Windows 8 pro 32bit
Nvidia gtx 560
Sent from my Xperia U using xda premium

Are you trying to run the 64-bit installer? Does Crysis even bother with a 32-bit installer anymore? Given the needs of modern games, the 2GB user-writable address space limitation is a huge problem.

So crysis can't be run on 32bit???
Sent from my Xperia U using xda premium

It appears to be available 32-bit still (although I still don't understand why you'd use a 32-bit OS on a gaming PC). Just make sure you run the 32-bit installer, not the 64-bit one.

If it still doesnt work then a full dxdiag output would be nice.

That is not a response to what I said at all.
All i5's are 64 bit capable (so I do wonder why the hell you are running 32 bit windows). Crysis is confirmed to work on 32 bit CPU's anyway so that is not the issue.

Update ur driver and other .net **** then try if still you are not able ask for refund to EA

You will still need 64 bit windows in order to run 64 bit code.
But that isnt a problem as crysis 3 is confirmed WORKING on 32 bit systems.

There is probably the root of the problem straight away. Torrented files. Chances are the torrent is broken, possibly virused but not necessarily. The game does supposedly have copy protection so that might have something to do with it.
Either way. I don't think its really within the forum rules to discuss pirated content.

Seriously... you come here asking for help running pirated software? Get out, you won't be missed. Read the forum rules next time.

Report the thread and watch OP enjoy his ban. Nuff said.

Great job buddy, Perhaps include more information about the issue rather then so many fail emoticons !
Whats happening ? Any errors ? Fault codes ? Crashes ? Does it even install ? Have you tried running it in compatibility mode ? Does Windows 8 have compatibility mode ? Is Windows 8 even released yet ?!
Simple fix: Dont use kies &/or use Windows 7 !

You sad it about Omnia, i am speaking about HTC HD2 - can not see connection
I am saying, HTC HD2 was build as Windows Mobile.
One great person (from Russia BTW) - hack boot loader, made OWN loader - MagLDR - that can load Android or Windows Phone 7.
So it is POSSIBLE to somehow run WP on phones, not designed for it.
Though writing such a complicate code, and in such a dangerous place as bootloader (may kill phone forever) very, VERY hard task

That's just silly.
But for those saying that WP8 can be run on the SGS3, I'm afraid you're mistaken. The i9300 uses a Samsung Exynos Quadcore while the ATIV S will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon Dual-Care. There will most likely never be a Windows Phone 8 device with the same SoC found in the international SGS3.
The US versions could have more luck as they indeed do have the same CPU as the ATIV S and thus that a much better chance of getting drivers that work for them also.

(XPRT) Who's up for some development? :D

Alright. Well I know everyone around here has been eager for a REAL custom ROM for the XPRT. I'm gonna start working on CyanogenMod 10 or 10.1 or whatever. But heres my background. I'm an 18 year old high school student on my senior year with not so good grades at the moment in math and economics. I don't exactly go to the best school, I'm unemployed, and I live in a group home. So I don't exactly have lots of time and resources on my hands. Enough about me. What I'm really here for is to ask for a team of people. Whether you want to be a future developer, you like computers, you like potatoes, whatever. I need some people to collaborate with me. I've included some links below along with prerequisites. Respond to the post or PM if interested.
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_porting_intro
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_Submitting_A_Port
http://sourceforge.net/motorola/mb612/home/Home/
Prerequisites: A 64 bit version of Linux (Ubuntu), A fairly decent size hard drive, (preferably) 2 or more gigabytes of RAM, the better the computer the better! Some persistence, patience, and time.
Looking forward to hear from you guys!

Get to know Ubuntu. I personally suggest 12.04. Ubuntu is Linux. Android is Linux. The more you learn in Ubuntu is quite useful in every other Linux powered device in the world. And trust me. There's more and more of them every day. I hope you find Linux just as amazing as I do!

yes, you got to learn your way around, but it is as easy and frustrating as using a mac when youre used to windows...just be patient, you´ll get the things done, but in a different way
,So blackfire, so how is that custom kernel uploaded? I remember when I used to own the def+, the only way to upgrade the kernel was modding the GB one to get some features working (battery and hw acceleration) on CM10.
Oh yeah, the Ubuntu for phones OS looks cool. I was hoping someone here might be interested in porting it once it becomes good enough to use as a daily driver.

I'm not too sure. As I've said, I can't work on this myself yet still. But from what I know, using the stock kernel as a base you can rebuild using things like linaro and whatnot. Kernel development is no easy task.

Every processer is different. If a dev knows a certain one and owns the tablet, they can make a ROM. For example the tab s has exynos processors. Few developers know the proccesor really well that they can develop a rom/kernel without owning the device. Depends on source, and some other stuff idk lol
Hmm lol.. just seems strange that not 1 person is successful in doing so... if i knew what to do, id try it out.. this device would be wayyyy better with a custom rom to play with!
