.exe files on Galaxy Y - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

I just saw a thread regarding running .exe files on Galaxy Note, so I was wondering if it is possible to run .exe files on Galaxy Y or not ??
If yes then how ??

Dude that's a galaxy note....phablet..
When compared
Galaxy Note >>>>>>> galaxy y
Edit: if that is possible then plz someone port multi window feature from NOTE II.....lol

Sounds kinda impossible and why would you want that anyway? Executable (*.exe) files are Windows files.

linux does'nt natively support exe's
we need a emulator of some sort, or a built-in virtual machine environment other than dalvik to run the said files, which with our challenged hardware, the chances are 0.000000000001%

Changing Device model for market

So I heard that you could change your device's "model" by messing around with the build prop.
I was wondering if I could change the model to a tegra 2 supported phone so I could download tegra zone from the market directly. Instead trying to pirate it and such

Take a look at a tegra device build.prop.. Simply google for a build prop and change the lines to a tegra device.
You don't need to change the build.prop for playing a game if u use chainfire but if you need to download a game. You probably need to change

Just use swap partition.. It creates a virtual ram that somewhat increases your ram... and you need a kernel that has swap support.

apparently I am not allowed to post links, but google "zdnet ubuntu phone 5 things" will fill you in on what we know so far. Follow the first link.
what I know personally, Ubuntu tries to keep new deployments as quiet as possible but relies on an open source dynamic for development. If you have a high end Android phone, there is a good chance you will be needed (unofficially) for the initial builds. Anyone with a dual core android phone packing 1gb ram will be (unofficially) included in the "beta" testing phase.
Essentially, if you can compile it yourself, you are guaranteed a front row seat. If you cant, but pay attention, you will still be on board.

Canonical has detailed the system requirements for smartphones running Ubuntu. The “entry level” Ubuntu device is expected to run a 1GHz Cortex A9 processor, 512MB – 1GB of RAM, 4-8GB eMMC + SD, and a multi-touch display. The high-end Ubuntu “superphone” calls for a Quad-core A9 or Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM minimum, multitouch, and desktop convergence. The desktop convergence part certainly sounds interesting, as Canonical called it a “a full PC desktop accessible just by docking the device to a monitor and keyboard.”

I've got an n7000, and am keen to work on a port when the source code hits. Never done it before though, and am keen for some advice.
After the source code hits, what's the best place to go to learn about porting the code to our n7000?
I appreciate any advice you have, particularly with any links. I'm familiar with the linux commandline, file system structure, flashing my phone, ubuntu servers and desktop Ubuntu in general. Haven't played around with compiling kernels much before, but happy to start. Am running Ubuntu 12.04 on an XPS 13 ultrabook for my dev machine.

Now people will find out why Samsung is such a ***** to work with. Android was a different ballgame cause there where plenty of devs working on Exynos based SoC devices and things could be patched up relatively quick. No documentation for Exynos is gonna rear it's ugly head this time. TI OMAP was the most dev friendly SoC out there and Qualcomm is workable too. Tegra and Exynos are garbage

Its honest though. To get it working properly may well be impossible. Its part of the reason cyanogen still doesn't support mhl on Samsung's. Also its a little early to ask for advice on porting when no one has experience with this code yet. Sorry to pee on your cornflakes, give it a week and we'll all know more.

(XPRT) Who's up for some development? :D

Alright. Well I know everyone around here has been eager for a REAL custom ROM for the XPRT. I'm gonna start working on CyanogenMod 10 or 10.1 or whatever. But heres my background. I'm an 18 year old high school student on my senior year with not so good grades at the moment in math and economics. I don't exactly go to the best school, I'm unemployed, and I live in a group home. So I don't exactly have lots of time and resources on my hands. Enough about me. What I'm really here for is to ask for a team of people. Whether you want to be a future developer, you like computers, you like potatoes, whatever. I need some people to collaborate with me. I've included some links below along with prerequisites. Respond to the post or PM if interested.

yes, you got to learn your way around, but it is as easy and frustrating as using a mac when youre used to windows...just be patient, you´ll get the things done, but in a different way
,So blackfire, so how is that custom kernel uploaded? I remember when I used to own the def+, the only way to upgrade the kernel was modding the GB one to get some features working (battery and hw acceleration) on CM10.
Oh yeah, the Ubuntu for phones OS looks cool. I was hoping someone here might be interested in porting it once it becomes good enough to use as a daily driver.

I'm not too sure. As I've said, I can't work on this myself yet still. But from what I know, using the stock kernel as a base you can rebuild using things like linaro and whatnot. Kernel development is no easy task.

Are you trying to run the 64-bit installer? Does Crysis even bother with a 32-bit installer anymore? Given the needs of modern games, the 2GB user-writable address space limitation is a huge problem.
So crysis can't be run on 32bit???
Sent from my Xperia U using xda premium
It appears to be available 32-bit still (although I still don't understand why you'd use a 32-bit OS on a gaming PC). Just make sure you run the 32-bit installer, not the 64-bit one.

All i5's are 64 bit capable (so I do wonder why the hell you are running 32 bit windows). Crysis is confirmed to work on 32 bit CPU's anyway so that is not the issue.

But that isnt a problem as crysis 3 is confirmed WORKING on 32 bit systems.

There is probably the root of the problem straight away. Torrented files. Chances are the torrent is broken, possibly virused but not necessarily. The game does supposedly have copy protection so that might have something to do with it.
Either way. I don't think its really within the forum rules to discuss pirated content.
Seriously... you come here asking for help running pirated software? Get out, you won't be missed. Read the forum rules next time.
Report the thread and watch OP enjoy his ban. Nuff said.
