First of all, Google maps won't let stamina mode work. And secondly Google services are wreaking havoc on my battery.

You might have to do a factory reset something might be trying to snyc and is keeping your phone awake. This will affect Stamina mode.
Maps however, will wake your phone up periodically, this isn't actually stopping Stamina mode, its is just as if Maps is on your list of permited apps even though you haven't put it there. If you solve the first problem you won't notice the second.
Alright. I'll monitor it for a while and see what happens. If it persists, I'll reset. Thanks.

Grab the snapdragon batteryguru app on play store
its similar to stamina, but a bit more control and info.
Doesn't seem to conflict so far after 2 day's testing

Imo, all google apps do is spy on you and keep data connection alive (& drain battery & consume data by sending /receiving). I just freeze them & uninstall then after rooting. No detrimental effects on the os, and battery/data is conserved=>profit.
Switch off and on!

you say doesn't conflict, are you saying you have both stamina and battery guru switched on?
When I have google play music running, I get a notification that it is stopping stamina mode from running, anybody else getting this?

Play Music stops Phone from Sleeping. Basically stamina Mode is for when you're not using your phone, including playing Music.

Running both stamina and batteryguru together, then each individually, then none over the next few days to see if any make any difference.

What is this? This just started today and my battery life has decreased substantially. I downloaded only two apps which were "airdroid" and "reality piano" both were deleted but it is still running.

Have you tried stopping the process and see what happens? It would seem that maybe something you downloaded or installed is either being polled or is polling using the daemon process. Obviously related to the camera or camera driver.
Or maybe you just left your stock camera app running. Check and see what applications you have running and see if any of them are related to the camera.
It stopped after an hour but now my phone is getting pretty hot
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
have you rebooted to see if the process restarts?
Yea I dont think its on anymore because the time has said 59 mins for a while
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
I'm going to throw a wild guess out there but you downloaded airdroid and reality piano both of which actively use the camera for whatever task they may have so its most likely one of the two.
Reboot your phone, start one of the apps and see if the process starts?
If its reality piano then you're sort of SOL because its main purpose is using the camera
If its airdroid try and disable the process, might stop a few features but the rest should be ok.

The fix only applies to Nexus devices when they get the 4.4.3 update. Each phone manufacturer (or whoever is responsible for updating their firmware) must implement a fix for the bug on their own. Google updates the Nexus devices directly (or supposedly). So Samsung would have to include a fix for specific Samsung phones.
I have a problem guys I never get more than 8 hours of battery life and it seems to be getting worse. I have greenify and it doesn't seem to do anything. Someone help me out please.

Screen on is 2 and a half hours but I've heard people say they use this phone way more than I use mine and they still get like 14 hours
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk now Free
Something on the phone is causing the CPU to never go to sleep and looks like it is staying at a somewhat high speed as well. When I get a wakelock and am stuck at the lowest speed my phone will drain 50-60% over an 8 hour period, so you must be stuck somewhere in the 500-600MHz range.
I've had my screen on for a while cause of texting also not really any browsing or anything else

Try this app to find out what it truly using up you battery. I found this app so helpful that I bought the Pro Version.
Download cpu spy from the play store, and let it run for a charge cycle (it's a free, good quality app and super easy to use). The majority of the time the cpu should be in either 300mhz or deep sleep. Honestly with that kind of battery life, your phone or battery could be defective.
Anyone else had these system drain issues? This is the first day I have seen a problem with it after having the phone for a week now.

Google Now isnt on. I hadnt turned it on yet. I just went into the settings for the google search app and verified.

I've seen elsewhere that people have had issues with Samsung Link eating up battery life. Turning it off appears to solve the issue.

Pretty reasonable. Thank god I pretty much turn off all non necessary Samsung apps because that's just how Samsung rolls lol

i had almost the same results on my rooted Sprint GS5 with all the samsung stuff, and bloatwhere turned off
Believe it or not.... the "Memos" app was eating more battery than everything else combined for me before I turned it off.

crazy how much bloat ware verizon put on this thing, the Sprint version was very slimmed down, polar oppoisite of this, lol

Did you figure out what was eating your battery? Im getting killed with 30% Android system.
Ok so I'm using cloudy g3 rom and it's great however some users report loads better battery life than me. I never hit 5 hours screen on time. During my work day I mainly just text and check Facebook. So pretty light usage. Hit a max of 4 maybe 4.5 screen on hours.
What app is best to check wakelocks? Tried wakelock detector and gsam all in root mode but the information pretty much just says Android system is keeping the phone awake and kernel or something?
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
Facebook app and Facebook Messenger lead to ineffective deep sleep of the phone. If you uninstall them and use the mobile web page through the browser battery life will increase significantly.
I've noticed this so removed Facebook messenger. I'd like to keep the Facebook app I've got it to not auto update. Turned off location etc in it too. Not sure what else I can do there?
Here are some screens of GSAM.

Any update ? .. i subscribed to this thread because I'm very curious as well
Get Greenify. You can add apps that it will hibernate when screen is off. You can also manually hibernate through the app or a widget.
Edit: Also Wakelock Detector is useful. Allows you to Google certain wakelocks and has an option to add it to Greenify. System apps aren't Greenify-able unless you buy the donate version.

You're better off removing the Facebook App and keeping Messenger. Use the website or another app such as 'fast for Facebook'

Sounds like you've got a rogue app or service running. Find out which one(s) are running in the background.

If this problem persists Try Greenify app It shuts down background processes when you lock your phone ! Works for me
Again if it happens again and again!
