Hello, i have a problem with the time clock.
Every day i have to set the time, because it's late with about 4-5 minutes every 24 hours.
I didn't root the phone, i use Android 4.2.2
Could you help me, please ? Should i try to reset to factory settings, maybe ?
Any advices are welcome, thanks in advance
I can't find how to fix it.
Help me, please.
why don't use automatic settings, and the clock will sync with your mobile provider network every few minutes
Odp: time clock / question
So why don't you root your phone? If you have root you can use ClockSycn app which sets time automatically.

I will try to root the phone. But i was affraid not to brick it
I have to make sure that i do it everything right. After i saw some videos on the internet, i want to get Xylon.
What would you recommend me ? Which one ? There are so many

I did root the phone, i have now Xylon + Franco. I installed the app ClockSync, but it happent the same.
After about 20 hours it´s late with 3-4 minutes. Is there nothing i can do to fix this ?
Do you think the battery is the problem ?
Have you selected Auto date and time sync?

Do you mean, after i installed ClockSync ? Or just the Settings / Clock ?!
I did try to check / uncheck / under the Settings / Clock.
And i'm not connected to the internet 24 / 24 h, if you're talking about the ClockSync
Is it perhaps because you are set up to auto update time from your network? The phone ought to be able to keep time better than that. Maybe you network provider's time is off and your phone keeps syncing to their time after you correct it?

I try both ways.Set up to auto update time from network and without. Same story. There must be a way to fix this
But i don't know where to start. I would try to remove - insert the battery, but i think it's difficult to remove the battery and i'm not sure if that helps at all.

I am using both S-calendar and Google calendar: i like the homescreen widget for S-Calendar but I prefer using the Google Calendar app for managing appointments.
Considering that I do not want two notifications, I set notifications only in S-calendar with vibration and turned them off in Google calendar.
Problem is that every time i reboot the tablet, it resets the settings of both calendar apps: it removes vibration in S-calendar and enables notification in Google calendar.
Anyone else?
anyone?
Why you reboot your note?
Mine never rebooted.

Yea I had the same exact issue with mine. I realized that the 2 notifications in both apps are tied together. Meaning if you change one, it'll reset the other on reboot.
I wanted the notifications from S-cal and the googlecalendar app for management as well. I ended up disabling the S-Cal app entirely in the app management settings menu and instead using the google-cal app for everything. I dont think there is a way to separate the 2 apps.
If you find a way I'd like to know as well. Sorry I cant be more helpful.
This won't work on ICS builds, but if you have upgraded to JB 4.1 then in Settings - > Application Manager you can disable notifications on a per app basis.

yes this I know, my question was more: why upon restart the notification settings of both google and s calendar are set back to original values?
That I'm not sure. It shouldn't be resetting the setting on a reboot.

Is there some way to force Gmail to show all images from EVERYONE by default?
It is really quite annoying to have to click the "Always show pictures from this sender" for every single sender :crying:
The thing is WiFi only so data usage is not an issue - jeeeeez !

Hi all,
Loving the phone and for all who are still waiting for it due to shortages, keep at it, you won't regret it....
loving the phone and happy to use Blinkfeed for news stories (fb and twitter not so good on it)... But I can't figure out for the life of me figure out how to get it to pull data for my home location. I have set up London as my home and refuse to leave location services on all the time (battery drain and all that).... So why is it so hard to get Blinkfeed to tell me the weather in my home location? Should be a no brained but it's bugging me no end and I refuse to give in any activate gps all day long when I seldom use it... Please help

This happened to me as well.. It wouldn't say London but it still wouldn't show the weather icon next to the clock above Blinkfeed. What worked for me was, I had to turn on mobile data, turn on GPS and then go back into weather and it should get your current location.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and still nothing... This is so annoying man. It may be some other hidden setting in my phone, I don't know... All I know is that the thing should allow you to choose your weather location instead of muck around with gps and all that!

Hi.
I work in London and live in Bromley and I've seen no problems with the widget reflecting my 'current' location.
The only thing I remember doing is removing all other hard coded locations in the widget except my current location. I've also got all location services switched on (Not GPS) because I like the features available with this.
Only had the phone two days so hard to assess the potential drain on battery with location services, but based on an overnight charge and having used the phone on the train to browse, read email etc I'm currently at %79 charge after 7.5 hours..... certainly better than my S2.

tbh the effect of leaving GPS on all day is probably negligible - ive never turned it off on any phone ive had that had the feature :s
The crazy thing is that I can separately grab the clock and weather widget which is identical to the Blinkfeed header and it asks my location and I complete it and done... That works fine!... I just can't tell the same thing to the Blinkfeed widget! Crazy!

Yup got the same issue. Just says my location, not the city I'm in. Tried with all location service on and GPS, wifi etc. When I refresh it says "unable to connect to location service". Could be software issue?

Glad u am not alone on this problem. Have tried loads of things, but still no weather for my city and it says data not available....
Maybe there are others out rather, but I think there must be a setting otherwise everyone would have suffered this issue.
Any new help or suggestions out there would be appreciated.

Have you guys tried enabling/disabling mock locations in the development section on the settings?
Also if my guess is right based on "unable to connect to location service" it could be that your internet provider is block the port used by the weather widget. Have you guys tried using WIFI instead?
You have to have location services switched on. You dont need GPS switched on but you do need location services switched on.
Have you checked the sync settings for HTC Weather? I have mine set to auto update every few hours, you might need that on too.
I had this issue and everything was switched on. All you need to do to fix the issue is go into the clock app and select you location. Worked for me. Took 30 Seconds to update.

Yep, I tried it all, with wifi and mobile data also. I also tried the location setup on the clock.... Still no fix.
Remember, I added the separate HTC clock and weather widget on another desktop screen.. That worked fine with my location. The clock and weather at the top of Blinkfeed are identical, just the weather still shows no data

I havn't got my phone with me at the minute to check. But it was in the clock app. I think I also deleted all the time zones and reset my location. My clock widget was also fine when the blinkfeed app wasn't. I will be able to check at lunch.
I rebooted mines into recovery then wipe cache and restarted then my location changed to where I live

Go to settings, scroll down to accounts, tap on whatsapp. There you can turn off contacts synchronization, which is causing the wakelocks.
It will not interfere with your messages as this only sycs your contacts.
Do check once in a while if it stays of as with me it sometimes turns on automatically
Thanks for your help. I will try it

I'll give this a shot. I was shocked to see that Whatsapp was keeping my phone awake for more than 7 hours over the course of a day. Thanks.
I AM having this problem too. My auto sync is already offline and I still get a huge amount of wakelocks.
What else can I do?
after opening whatsapp..just go to settings->apps-> whtsapp.. and click force close.. u wil have no wakelocks
Try and find the previous apk.

Greenify will probably "kill" message notifications?
My problem went away after I installed the newest version off their website.
@clankfu,
Thanks, will try it. Seems that Play has 2.10.*** and the latest on their website is 2.11.***
Had this issue with website versions weeks and months ago. Might be that the bug came into the playstore version (although I don't have any issues right now)

I see this once in a while and it'd be good to understand WTF is going on. Why does it take a full 5 minute wakelock?
I'm not even sure if its the contacts sync because I clicked on Whatsapp in the Android Settings menu and it showed that the last sync was at 7pm last night. Yet this morning I had a 5-6 minute wakelock. I unchecked and rechecked and it completed the sync in a second or two.
download LLama or Tasker and you can create a task so that when you are backing out of whats app it will FC it for you. I do this with some system apps that stay open longer than I would like. Although its not the way Android may want it its what I do
specify the tasker profile

First, try to disable every unessesary syncing in accounts and notifications in app settings especially Facebook app (uncheck show notif for this app)
Are you rooted?
If yes, install droidwall (firewall app), use the white list to enable the apps that you need to be connected only.
If no, try to uninstall every free apps that you are not using (free apps = ads = data usage in background) and/or disable the mobile data when you dont need it?

Please can somebody tell me how much Android OS usage is normal on mobile data ? I think I will do a factory reset but I am still not sure what's causing this...
Really odd. Mine has only used 13MB in several days. Are you using smart network switch?
In the data usage settings, when you tap an app, there will be an option to Restrict background data. Check that for unessesary apps.
