[Q] 'contact list' takes time to open

frnds I dont know its Rom's problem or kernel's ? sometimes when i press contact button it takes a lot of time to show me contacts and that is irritating whenever i'm in hurry,I have used many Roms since October 2010 currently on Kyrillos 9.2 ,problem is not persistent but occurs randomly.
1) in such situation i always find contacts application open in task manager,sometimes killing it thr helps but not always.
2)sometimes with this problem network goes and when network comes back, contact list is thr also.
Is it only with me or anyone else have same problem? plz let me know n help if u can

Use kyoramrom. There's the kyora app that locks apps into memmemory so they open faster

Thanks. Got same problem as the TopicStarter sometimes, will try Kyoramrom

yea u can lock the contact app in ram so that it can open faster btw.......if u ve tried so many roms and tired of the same problm u shud try alpha 7 .its faster than other froyo roms .....

I had the same issue but only on stock ROM... Then I installed
Rocket dialer... It speed up things a lot...
Now when I use Destiny ROM I dont need it any more...

reinstall all apps or do a data and chache reset..:good:

I had done it many tyms.....
Bt same problem arrises...

either flash the stock kernel back (search here in android general info for sir dokys stock kernel compilation)
or flash other custom kernel like white
or ask sir hell lock about your concern.

Sry sir .... But in ur kernal i replace some files wid stock and then i applied clear dalvik cache... And then its done

Hello frends plz help me i am using stock rom my phone automatically reboot when a call is end.no matter call is incoming or out going when call end phone reboot.phone is not my its my friend phone.so guys plz help me with this problem.

Try replacing the Phone.apk with a new one.
Rom: Hyperion 8
Kernel: Savie's kernel
Theme: My own modification

It's obvious he doesn't have a Galaxy Y but possibly a phone from another manufacturer so he is not aware of our methods of solving various problems.

Clear cache n data once..my phone used to hv random hotboots in between..fixed aftr factory reset..

May be frequency problem install good custom kernel...

OP, tell your friend to try to do a hard reset by going to recovery (Hold power button + Volume up + home button) and choose wipe data / factory reset. I'm guessing you have already tried that so if that didn't solve the problem another solution would be to just flash a new stock rom and kernel from this thread:

Choose a firmware package depending on his region and follow the instructions in the second post.

I am using stock kernel and already tried factory reset but same result.i thing i am going to flash new rom.

Flash hells fusion kernel or white or kuros etc this will solve your problem btw did u used any tweaks?

Facebook Messenger and some other apps blinking screen

My Facebook Messenger app and some other apps like Antutu benchmark keeps on blinking. It can he solved by reinstalling the app but it comes back sooner or later. It happened on both Evo x3 and Hyperion 8. Any suggestions or ideas on why is this happening?

I think this is because of savies kernel, I dont know but when I tried this with a rom I was building and was using savies kernel this problem also occurred. Maybe try using another kernel if it still happens, try changing your rom. I don't know.

Is it because of the transparency? Since only some apps blink, while others don't. Could it be something like transparent framework of the rom is incompatible with application's?

Nope, I don't think so. I did transparency many times and I didn't see any problem.

month ago i haved the same issue and the only solution was a complete new flash for me,no idea why it was flickering.good luck.

Yes. Its the kernel. The "Flickering" thing. Its a problem in the kernel.

I use savies 54. Yeah, I think these new kernels have these problems cause I think they are based on OpenSource 3.

In system/lib/egl/......
Try to change this
I think u r using the egl files from cm7.......
I dont know perfectly...

A theme or rom for my xperia play

Hi, community of xda developers my name is Selg and this is my first but before that i will tell you that i am grateful for all the hard work that you guys put into the forum.
i open the post to ask for a theme or ROM for xperia play with softkey buttons.
i recently installed ics pureness but the rom was too laggy but it has the soft key buttons i mean the back, home and task manager at the bottom. So i got tired of that room lagyness even though i tried the SU + BOOST ON TERMINA. Now i have installed the gin2jellybean rom and is the fastest thing in the world but id doesn't have the soft-key buttons,I NEED HELP PLEASE, the buttons on my xperia play have started to wear down and soon i will have no keys so i hope you guys can reccomend a rom or theme that can solve my problems.

Well most jellybean ROMs support the virtual buttons at least ik slim bean does and probably any other jellybean ROM as well

about the button savior, thanks for replying but i cant install the app because it requires root and i will tell you why
i recently installed the lupus kernel and install icre cream pureness but was to laggy and went straight to GIN2JELLYBEAN.
GIN2JELLY BEAN is a demon fast and stable but i have two problems which i cant report to the rom's thread because i am a new user and new user cant post in developers forum of xperia play.
When i try to install an app that requires root, it says granting for root permission and the applications freezes and i force the application to close , it happened with , cracked google and titanium, and it did happen with button savior.:crying:
Another issue with GIN2JELLY BEAN is that my computer doesn't recognize as a removable disk(USB CABLE), and the only way to transfer files to the xperia is to take the sd card and put into the computer.
so due to that i am moving to a rom with softkeys button and estabity so my computer recognize it.

Gin2GB is pre-rooted, you may have skipped a few steps and that's why you're having problems. I don't have any of the bugs you mentioned and nobody else has reported those issues. Try again maybe?

thank you for replying, i dont see why it happened to me since is just a matter of doing a factory reset and wiping cache davilk etc.
now i am using true ancestors and is awesome and fluid, better than ics pureness or ics gamer 4.0.1.
the only thing i need to do now is find a way to enable the softkey buttons, any idea?

Well I never used a ICS rom always GB or JB but like I said pacman ROM and slim bean are very stable and smooth if you get your clock settings right and they feature the on screen buttons

have you used the rom true ancestor Final edition? i recomend it to anyone with xperia play, i wishes you have tried it before so you can compare with the slimbean and tell me which one is better.
ok, i am going to try this roms eventually, but i have LUPUS KERNEL V12 ICS. do i have to flash another kernel in order to use the slimbean?
