Miuiv5 is releasing today for mi-2 but the sources are available on github......
For anyone who wants to port it

Miuiv5 will be a lot smoother than v4 and lot of visual changes will be there......
I am waiting for it

I really hope it will be less laggy.
MIUI is my favourite, but the ICS and JB releases are just too laggy in my opinion.

According to a reddit discussion, MIUI Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROMs are coming soon. I don't really know if this is happening anytime soon, but this blog as well as the official MIUI dev blog also claim that we need to wait for some "good" news coming soon. And I'd like to ask that how a MIUI gingerbread based rom will be better than CM 7?

MIUI can be better than CM7, but it depends on your personal tastes. CM7 gives you the best of stock android, with all their usual options. MIUI gives you something totally different, it's a totally original series of ROMs that gives you great functionality and ease of use. It comes with an iPhone-style homescreen (but with more features like transition animations, ability to add as many homescreens as you'd like, and more), quick settings on the notifications bar pull-down, great music app, and much more.

To be honest I'm glad Samsung haven't brought ICS to the SGS after the mess I saw, that is Touch Wiz 4.0 on the S2 ICS leak.
Well i cant really see that this is a big problem, due to the fact that there are several custom version of ICS out already.

The icssgs r4.2 build I tried was very stable, used it for 4 days without a problem except for battery drain which will no doubt be sorted in due course.
im using cm9 for some time and i think when there will be the final release it'll be better than any samsung made ics rom for the sgs since the alpha is better than samsungs stock roms xD
touchwizzed ics is hell guys, you should be happy hearing this news

read last 20-30 posts of the dev thread - it looks like note will get official CM9 very soon, so no need for Imilka's rom
Imilka was first of all never planning to release cm9. he made the cm9 build for his own love.. but he was not sure if he shoudl release it.
I had asked encouraged him.. he should
but not sure why he took it down. maybe he thought its unofficial. will ask him about it
btw, teamhacksung is already working on cm9 with custom open source kernel for the note.. so we will get an official build soon!
But shouldn't be discontinued until CM team makes a release. At least we have Imilka's ported ROM to keep us busy while waiting.

Anyway, his ROM is more than good enough to hold us over.
i think its his personal decision after all. he even discontinued the aosp thread

Completely understand your feeling. Will miss Imilka's excellent work!
Since Imilka said he will support it at least untill it gets official support - and it's discontinued now - i guess it's getting official very soon. Would be nice if they incorporated some of Imilka's work on it though - was a good work right ? Would be a shame to toss it away.
Well, let's just hope to see official builds as soon as possible.

Just got an update from Imilka.
He has discontinued cm9, because official version will be out soon, so he doesn't see a point working on it more
He has discontinued aosp, because its not used that much, as cm and aokp are more widely used,
so he doesnt seem there is a point in putting his energies here.
but he might be back soon with something else
Let's hope cm9 comes before ics for the note from Samsung

Me too! I used Imilka V8 and Imilka CM9 v02 anh I feel pleasent.
Accept one thing that Imilka miss that S-pen functions, the power of the Note.
Hope Imilka will be back with more powerful ROM with S-pen facilities.

Very sad to see it discontinued as well. Imilka's CM9 ROM was hands down the best ROM I have ever used on my Note (and I've tried a lot of ROMs!). I will continue to use v03 until we have an official port.
I only hope that it is soon... As Galaxy Note users, we have become far too accustomed to hearing "coming soon", only to be disappointed.
Looks like Entropy is making good progress though, so I remain optimistic!

Well, only as soon as Cyanogenmod 10 is released... It's a much easier update than before, and it better be, since CM9 will be phased out as soon as CM10 works well.
We're all counting on upstream developers in the end.
Good news, really looking forward to Project Butter & Google Now (w/ Voice) I woke up and checked my phone and noticed my trip to work had traffic and I was like sweet.
I run the paranoidandroid rom as my spare, since I've moved on from the HD2. But I still anxiously await JB on this beauty!
JB will be the best Version of Android so far
