[Q] [Urgent] Nexus 4 stuck in boot loop - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please help guys. I just got this phone and my parents will kill me.
I installed the Franco kernel after rooting and tried to install the drivers for chain fire 3d.
It's got my phone in a loop.
I tried wiping data and cache and dalvik cache and rebooting but it doesn't work.
Please help.

after flashing and ur still in bootloop, then go to Recovery Mode (the android with a red triangle), do a factory data reset. Then you're good to go.

Chainfires open gl drivers won't work on most 4.1+ devices. Also looking over the app description on the play store, the supported devices are all nvidia or exynos based devices. Our phones use a Qualcomm chipset. And the force 4x msaa function is built into the nexus 4. It's under developer options.

Solved!
I used AndroidRootz Mac Toolkit and Voila!. It came back to life. Could someone tell me why the regular wipe data/factory reset did not work?

Power down the phone, then press volume down and power button at the same time and you`ll get in bootloader mode. Go with the volume rocker to recovery and press the power button. Then wipe cache and reboot. If that didn`t help do a data/factory reset also in recovery mode. Maybe you wiped anything or might be a corrupted app.

You have to reflash the whole rom now. Do you have a backup you can restore in CWM/TWRP or a rom you can flash? Or else look here for a stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312. Good luck

Phone stuck booting - panicking

Hey guys, so I tried to install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497558 on my phone and it seemed to install and run fine until I rebooted it. Now it's stuck booting on a black screen. My phone is running 4.2 with Cyanogenmod 10.2. I'm a bit new at this and I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks!
Boot into recovery, do a full wipe and reflash the ROM and gapps.

Also is there a way to pull files from my phone to my pc in this state? Thanks again. Hope someone can help soon- this is stressing me out.

Thank you so much for the reply. I will do this. But before I do that, is there any way to pull files from my phone in recovery mode? I have certain files that are very important to me and can't exactly be replaced. Thanks!

[Q] wifi issues - stock 4.4.2

my nexus 4 has an issue, where it connects to my wifi but it just doesn't work, as in web browser doesn't load any pages, play store doesnt work.
i've read numerous threads about many nexus 4 users having these problems but haven't found the solution. if anyone can provide me some help with a solution. im on stock 4.4.2
Have you tried wiping the cache partition on recovery? Also is it only with one WiFi network?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Might wanna try to set the frequency to 2,4ghz only. Some routers don't like if it's set to automatic.

Have you tried wiping the cache partition? It doesn't require root. If that doesn't work try factory reset. Then take it back or flash CyanogenMod (which will void warranty).

Thanks.
am i right in assuming i can only wipe my cache through an app? if that's the case it doesnt change anything.
i've tried to enter recovery mode, but i don't think i can as im not on a custom kernel. please correct me if im wrong.
and should the latest cyanogenmod suffice? or would you recommend a specific build?

You don't need a custom kernal.
This is from an email from Google regarding my nexus 7, it should be the same:
Hold the*Power Button*until the device powers down completely.Press and hold*Power Button*and*Volume Downsimultaneously.Once at the Android bootloader screen, pressVolume down*until you see the option*Recovery mode.Press*Power*button to restart into*Recovery mode. You should see an image of an Android with a red exclamation point. While holding down the*Power button, pressVolume Up.Use the Volume keys to scroll down to*wipe cache partition*and press*Power*Button*to select it. The device should clear the cache instantly.*Select and press the*Power Button*on*Reboot System Now, then see if the issue is resolved.
I used the CyanogenMod installer and then I switched to the nightly builds after a nandroid backup.

[Q] My phone stuck on bootloader

ok so i wanted to try this new kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596496
and i installed it but my nexus 4 wouldnt boot so i went back into recovery and installed my other kernel which was working before. but now it wont boot. stuck on bootlogo forever. what do i do.
Do you have a nandroid you can restore?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
There must be a misunderstanding, so I better ask: Are you stuck on the bootlogo or in bootloader mode? You can turn on/off your device right?

yes sorry i meant on bootlogo. i can still go into recovery i think but whenever i reboot it never fully boots
Never mind.
Do you know Wug's Nexus Toolkit? Use this to flash a factory image. It is the easiest way if you arent familiar with adb and stuff.
Much better to learn how to flash a factory image with fastboot. You can probably save your data by flashing a cm compatible kernel in fastboot

Stuck in a BOOTLOOP [help]

Hi guys,
First thing is first, I am an idiot. Now back to the problem. I was having some issues with my rooted Nexus 4 so I decided to factory reset it instead of using the Nexus Root Toolkit . And it got stuck in a bootloop, when I tried using the toolkit afterwards to get it out - I couldnt because of something to do with USB debugging. I dont know what other information you need to solve this so please ask.

As you can boot in to recovery, why don't you try to flash a custom ROM?
If you don;t want that, flash the factory images (that's the simplest way and I had used it once )
