Cant install antutu - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all,
I'm currently unable to install antutu benchmarking app on my nexus though I was successful doing so with other apps.
Could you please help me figuring out this one?
Tried to do some wipes but to no avail.

Just don't install it. Some people have even gotten bricks from using antutu on the nexus 4.

let me ask the obvious.. how much space do you have left in your storage? i believe antutu needs you to have at least 300mb left, if not more, so it can run the write/read tests.

antutu doesnt brick phones. the n4 has an issue with the battery, how its read(red light of death). heat can bring it on. the only role that antutu plays here is that it can produce high heat if benching high cpu speeds.

Anyone know any app that is wotking fine with our Nexus? I have tried a few but all of them are not acurate at all. Showing odd speeds and distances...
Maybe my phone is broken?

Tried it today and it showed me I was cycling at 326km/h... I am on Cm10.1 and Franco 28. Are you on stock?
Update:
Just tried My Routes from Google and it seems to work fine

Yikes, something isn't right. How do things like Google maps, locations in Facebook etc work on your phone?
I'm stock, rooted.

I'm having similar issues: I'm using MapMyRun on Xylon/Franco, and it reports very strange distances. It's very weird because I can pull up the map on the app, and it looks right. When I upload the route to their web interface and access it from my computer, the distance gets calculated correctly. But the phone vastly overestimates the distance traveled (up to 10x--i.e. 30 miles for a 3 mile run).
Google maps and Foursquare are dead on, and GPS activates quite quickly.

I just saw we're both using Franco's kernel. Maybe that's the problem?

Also if you dont wait until Endomondo says GPS ok in the bottom left of the screen the it uses the last know GPS location, and moves you to where you actually are when it gets GPS lock. I hav experienced this on ALL older devices (havent been out with the N4 yet)
RunKeeper has been working fine on the other Nexus 4 in my house (distances are almost exactly the same as the Inc's were).

How improve performance?

Title says all.I've been playing NOVA 3 and NFS MW,Spiderman,batman... on my nexus 7 32gb 3g with trinity kernel @ 1.5ghz OC ,stock ROM.And FPS is pretty low according to me because its little laggy seems like i have 25-30~ fps.So how can I improve performance of these games?
AFAIK, those games are not fully optimized for nexus 7 so there's nothing you can do right now. You can try to over clock the GPU using "trickster mod" dload it in play store then swipe all the way to the right and change the GPU max frequency to 700 then set to boot. Check to see if u gain some performance. Don't forget to click the thank you button if I helped

I have tried over clocking my GPU earlier and it ended with speaker blown or something like that ,but after reboot it got little better, so I'm kinda scared doing it again.Maybe there are some other tweaks for these games?

I wouldn't crank it up to 700mhz that's really the limit of most of the nexus 7 gpu's. When I'm gaming I set my CPU at 1.5-1.6Ghz and my GPU to 520 or 600mhz if it starts getting really hot just back off the over clock until you find a nice medium, I can run NFS:MW at 1.6Ghz/520mhz and its great

Or the other option is to turn off GPU Scaling when playing that particular games. Then turn it back on when finished playing

It essentially allows the GPU to run free, at the loss of heat and power consumption.

Find "Trickster Mod' on Google play. You also need a kernel that supports it, if you pure performance go with trinity kernel

Don't do go into the developer settings, like what triscuit said, use trickster mod from Google play to turn off GPU scaling.

I tried it on my nexus 7 before and it worked for me. Then after playing those graphically intensive games, I just under clock it again to 446mhz. I used trinity kernel that time. But now I changed to Bricked Kernel to have some balance performance/battery.

Yeah, too many people lately are OCing to the max without knowing the implications
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
Always take your oc in steps, just because your kernel will let you overclock to rediculous limits doesn't mean you should, this is why they all have the 'its not my fault if you break things' disclaimer.
Also, for nfsmw, overclocking your CPU will actually make the game use higher graphic settings, if you want better performance use 1.3ghz CPU and set your gpu to 520

Quick lil question

Hey yall i'm using a nexus 4 running cyanogenmod RC with setcpu on and franco Kernel.
Does my phone still throttle its cpu speeds when it gets to a certain temperature? Like on stock nexus 4.
I have done alot of research but i cant find an answer to this question. Also i am asking this question because i dont want to overheat my phone and kill its battery.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Franco kernel throttle CPU when it reaches 70c by default
Sent from my Nexus 4
Just flash rasbeanjelly + Trinity all heating issue just go away for sure.
In Trinity I find colour are faded so you can try different kernel .
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Ok and ok but I think I'm through flashing stuff lol except for an update.
Anyway what temp does the stock nexus 4 throttle? Because 70 degrees Celsius is to hot for a phone, even most laptops cant handle that temp.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Not sure what temp stock kernel starts to throttle but if it reaches 80c it will power off to protect it. It is very hard for you to reach that temp though
Sent from my Nexus 4
K, you have an recommendation of what is a good temp to throttle my nexus 4 at that wont allow the heat to damage the battery or phone?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
70c is hot but not too hot, 90c is a bit closer. I believe the auto power down is somewhere between 90-100c. The chances of your phone but ing damaged by the cpu or battery being too hot is pretty much nil. Don't worry about it and just use your phone. If it's actually in danger of frying the chip or the battery, it'll shut itself down.

If it really bothers you, set the throttle at whatever temp makes you paranoid. There's nothing to freak out about.

It is actually not using it has much you think it is.
When you place multimedia files onto the storage and will scan for a few minutes.
It will be listed to show what was using up your battery.
If you recharge your Nexus 4 fully without storing any multimedia files and/or rebooting then it should not be on the list after unplugging.

2 things research your issue to see if anyone else has had that problem or simply warranty it. If it fell you may have damaged it

The latest (21-23) CM nightlies don't have call audio, and if you messed with you boot loader/radio, that may explain your WiFi issue...

Try restoring the 4.4 factory image from google. That'll fix up any bad radios and roms. If it still doesn't work, something's wrong and you have to return it.

After the drop it is working..........I also opened my whole nexus and saw.....no damage inside...I was on 4.4 then reverted back to 4.3>>>>but still no luck.....also i am unable to play videos and songs...n when i open the gallery i saw some video had gone corrupt...
Also i have noticed that my sensors like accelerometer was not working while playing games......and not internel damage too.......everything is nice inside....
boom
everything fine nw......just flashed the whole monster with 4.4 factory image and cleaned it from inside with screws tight than before....
1 thing i have noticed that the monster is not so easy to break....except the glass....
