I pre ordered my nexus 7 from the google play store and received it 2 weeks after my friends purchased theirs at a local electronics retailer in Australia. I am glad there is no pre order from google play on the nexus 10

Personally, I'm going to wait a bit for any hardware revisions to come by and fix any possible bugs (Nexus 7 anyone?). So December-January for me.
Does anyone know how long it was after the nexus 7 release until it was available at bestbuy or walmart? I have friends of my family visiting their son in some town I dont remember the name of in SC and there are both walmart and bestbuy there and bestbuy has the possibility for international orders with local pickup and that is perfect as they don't have to pay anything. They are going back to sweden dec 13th. How is expansys? Are they reliable and handle returns well? I figure it would be easier for our friends getting it from bestbuy/walmart if the N10 would have any defects as they could just go back to the store and get it exchanged instead of having to deal with returns through mail to expansys.

I can't remember where, but somewhere yesterday I read it will be available in stores the same day as the play store.

I've tried Google Play on my Galaxy Note and on my laptop but all that there is for sale is Films, Books and Apps and no hardware.
I live in the UK and wondered if hardware was not available here on the Play store, does anyone know?

You can't access the devices section from the app on your phone.
Gotta get there on a computer, or you can access from the browser on your phone as long as you don't have links to play go to the app.

I think in the UK that the shops got the N7 about 2 weeks after google started selling them online, wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened again.

This friend is leaving from there on the twenty first of November. So the phone must reach her before that. Will it?
Assuming she orders the phone on the 13th at around 10-11 AM, how many hours will Google take to process the order?
Also on their site it says shipping won't take more than 2 days for shipping + another 2 days for processing the order (correct me on this if I'm wrong) but are there chances of it taking longer? Either because they receive more orders they can handle or something?
Also, if she orders by 11 AM, which is a full eleven hours after you're actually allowed to, will the phone be sold out by then?
If the phone reaches her a day or two in advance then that's brilliant because she has the time to check it for defects or at least check if it's not DOA.
Oh, she lives in some suburb of Chicago.

When Nexus 7 was open to order I did the over nigjt shipping and i got the Tab on the 3rd day or placing the order. So I am sure it will be the same.

How much was the price difference between overnight shipping and regular shipping? And how much will the time difference be?
Was a 10 dollar difference and regular shipping could take upto 7 days for it to get to u. So if you dont want to risk it I would do over night shipping.

A firm word won't change the fact that the device is sold out, they have apologised and credited you the shipping charges for the inconvenience..

I just called customer support because I too got this email, but my account says its still expected to be shipped by today and the representative told me that everyone who ordered a Nexus 4 got this email. He said that only the people who ordered 2+ devices could be waiting, but those who ordered 1 aren't likely to be backordered.

I only ordered 1 Nexus 4 16GB but i got that backorder email. I just talked to a google REP also and he said, its on backorder. I also had a Nexus 10 16GB in the same order and he said, since the order is bundled, I now have to wait for my Nexus 10 until the Nexus 4 becomes available to ship even though the Nexus 10 16GB is available right now. I asked for a request for my Nexus 10 to be shipped separately earlier and REP said, it can't be done as they are in same bundled order. Lame lol would have been nice if I could have at least had my Nexus 10 earlier. Oh well, it is what it is.

I wonder if that's people who ACTUALLY ordered 2+ or people with 2+ phantom order's? LOL I show 2 ordered in the play store, but my wallet only shows the 1 in my wallet and my card only shows billed for one as well. What a disaster, lol

You do realize that google does not manufacture devices. Period. If you want to be mad, be mad at lg. Also if your last couple of devices didn't sell all that well to begin with would you really stock up on a bunch of hardware that has the potential to not sell on top of selling at a minimal gain or slight loss?
Stop whining and be glad that you're getting an extremely underpriced phone out of contract.

Just got off the phone with Google Order Support. They confirmed that anyone that received the email will be placed on back order. Anyone who ordered who has not received the email will have theirs shipped this evening and that all the back order emails had gone out. So if yours is still processing, you will get your shipping confirmation later this evening with 1-2 day shipping.

Can anyone explain how this works? I'm very confused. I tried to sign up for it, but it couldn't find my name in any public records or something (Understandable, I just turned 16 around 45 minutes ago). After trying a bunch of different combinations, I finally put in my Moms name and it worked. It asked some questions to verify her identity. I was able to answer all of them, and in the questions, my dad's name was also mentioned, so it somehow knows the two of them are related.
So what now? Is it supposed to find my shipment automatically? My nexus is addressed to me, and I don't think I'm listed on the UPS Account. Would I need to add my name or something? How would I go about doing that?
I'm just confused about what it's supposed to actually even do. Is it supposed to automatically find packages being shipped to me before I get sent a tracking number or something? Why are so many people recommending signing up for it?

Basically if you have a UPS package that is being shipped to that address/person, UPS MY Choice will notify you in advance. In my experience I sometimes get notifications from UPS my Choice waaaaaay before the website/store (i.e. Amazon, PlayStore etc...) decides to send you a shipping notification.
It also gives you opportunities to hold the package for will call (free), change delivery ($5), deliver to UPS retail ($5).
I set this up tonight as well.
You can add "Other Household Members" to the address you initially set up (under your mom's name).
Initially I wasn't able to modify my shipment (wanted to pick up at a UPS store near work), and the online chat support told me it can take 90 minutes from when you signed up for packages in transit to reflect the new UPS My Choice status on your account.

What UPS location, local UPS Store or the sort facility that the package will pass thru prior to delivery. There maybe be additional steps to deliver it to the UPS Store.

That is a little weird, maybe they just want to make sure it will be available first thing in the morning or something, try calling UPS. I know I have been able to pick up items the same day they should have been delivered at the UPS sort facility, but I had to call and jump through some hoops to get it that same day.

I just called UPS when my thinkpad was coming from Shanghai, the day it was meant to be delivered (signature required) I wasn't going to be home till late, so I called them and even though it was out for delivery they said I could come get it from the sorting facility late that evening after the truck had returned.
Yea im trying to get it tomorrow instead of Monday cause there's no point in me picking it up Monday when they'll deliver it Lol

I see, I've never tried that, my local sort facility normally doesn't receive items until after hours and they are sorted overnight and sent out for delivery the following day.

yea that would be the ideal situation except they don't do deliveries saturday's but it should get there tonight and they are open tomorrow but idk if it'll be processed or anything
Not working for UPS I don't know for sure, but I suspect they dont process them prior to loading the trucks for delivery on Sunday night, maybe not all the staff work Friday/Saturday.

yea that's what i'm thinking, it's in knoxville tennessee right now so it won't be here till they close and probably won't even look at it tomorrow so monday it is i guess =/ i talked to a chat lady on UPS and she said they won't do anything before the first delivery date too
I got email notifications from My Choice with the tracking number but nothing in the APP.
The MyChoice Tab is basically an ad asking you to upgrade for $40 a year.
Am i supposed to copy and paste the tracking number from the my choice email and enter it manually in the tracking box?
If so, the App is pretty much useless to me. I would assume since its the same system, my "mychoice" account would be automatically updated.
Alright so I got my phone in December and somehow found a way to completely Brick it. So in between reviving my phone back to life (It's fully functional now), I called Google to send me a replacement and they issued me a RMA. But as soon as I un-bricked my phone I called them back and told them to cancel the RMA I don't need replacement device anymore.
So apparently that didn't happen and I just received Google Play order email suggesting my Replacement device has been shipped.
Now here is my issue, I am from Canada so obviously there Tax and shipping charge involved. Although (When comparing with my old Google play order) this time the only charge I see is the full retail amount of the Phone and there is no shipping and tax involved. There is going a charge of $359 on my CC nevertheless.
So here is my question. If I accept the phone from UPS will the Taxes and shipping come back? or Not?
Any feedback on the matter will be highly appreciated. Good day Folks. Long Live Nexus.
