I am looking for either the kernel modules or a working kernel for mounting my samba drives through CIFS on my Nexus 4.
Is there anyone out there who has managed to do this and would like to share his or her solution?
I am currently running CM10.1 nightlies and have tried all (!?) avaliable kernels, even the one that says they are supporting CIFS but it does not work. At least not with the CifsManager app and Samba shared drives on a Ubuntu Server 12.04 system.
I've managed to get this to work with _motley's kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2021437
[KERNEL][Feb 25][b40] _motley kernel for the N4 (smp patches back for 4.2.2)
And here's my setup
(will upload later, xda app is acting up)

an EXPERIMENTAL flashable zip for CM10.1 based rom is available at http://www.maxters.net/2013/02/aircrack-suite-for-galaxy-note-2/
Is there a chance to flash this zip on a stock rom ?
Where can I find the patches you made to the kernel?

Right on man. I'm hoping the bcmon guys get monitor mode working for our 4334, but until then I'll see if I can get some drivers working for my asus external thumb wireless card. Any advice appreciated.

hi @nizammoidu, do you think you could make a kernel compatible with lollipop for n7100 since this only works on cm10.1 right?

im using ivan's meller cm13 rom is it possible? if not we can use maybe a kk version or lollipop ? wich one is easier?
If you on 4.4.2 stock rom, you give the nadia kernel for 4.4.2 from maxter. It works just as great and has more precompiled usb wifi drivers on it and works perfectly with aircrack via Ubuntu and linux

Hi
I want to use my nexus 10 with surfstick and otg. Now i have the problem, that the ppp widget has the "no drivers found" error and it supports only the original kernel to fix it.
It is possible to run this rom with the stock kernel, because I like it very much, and where can I get the stock kernel? Or is it possible to run ppp widget with another kernel?

Hey everyone.
i was wondering if i could have Timur's great kernel for USB Host power management AND be able to boot in ubuntu or other android roms, using amazing MultiRom?
i found that i have to use a patch or sth. like that, but i have no idea what i should do.
can anyone give me a step by step guide? noob proof?!!
Timur's kernel already includes the kexec-hardboot patch. When installing Ubuntu with MultiRom you are to select "Don't share kernel with Internal ROM".

Yes, Timur added the patch several months ago. And when you install ubuntu, you dont need to pick dont share kernel. The way multirom is set up, you cant share the kernel, because when you choose ubuntu as the medium, the option is automatically removed.

I should have been more clear. The 2013-01-24 kernel does not have tje kexec patch. He implemented it after that date. Use the cm kernel from april or may.

Is it ok to use cm kernel on stock rom? :S

Cm means cyanogenMod, right? So installing the cm kernel on stock rom may harm my device, and the stock kernel doesnt support kexec, right?

So, my problem gets worse. Can anyone give me a link to stock kernel?

Hi there,
I already build CM 10.1 for my mako with Ubuntu and flashed sucessfully using this tutorial.
But I really don't get along with linux. We just don't like each other.
Is there any good tutorial for building on Windows? Is it even possible?
Greetings
Nope, not possible directly on windows. You can run Linux inside a virtual machine if you want.

I built the source from ubuntu
I built it using breakfast and brunch
But I got errors for my proprietary files
So I downloaded the proprietary files from the Repo of TheMuppets
The build was successful how ever my camera drivers are messed up and camera (apk file) is not able to connect to my camera(hardware)
So I flashed a known working AOSP kernel Dhollmen kernel
Still the camera doesn't work...
Any help?
