I have my bravo with quarx cm10 build.
I have realized that Facebook for android is not posting the status updates. Doesn't matter if i'm on networks internet, wifi or what.
I can reply to messages and like stuff but never post statuses.

You should try FriendCaster for Facebook. The interface is tighter and more customizable, and it isn't a huge RAM hog. That being said, it's probably just another bad update to the facebook app that's causing problems for you.

Hi folks,
I'm a developer at Facebook on the Android team. First off, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We have identified the bug that is causing this battery drain and are working on a fix now. As soon as the patch is ready, we'll push out an update. Thanks for the quick feedback and for your patience as we get this fixed!
Thanks,
David

He only has 1 post, so he hasn't posted this elsewhere. Thought others would be interested in seeing this.
Ahh, good to know that official..
Good news. Looks like the fix is out version 1.3.1
I just downloaded it. Hopefully I'll have better battery life tomorrow.
Holy crap. Is that what is happening to my battery the last few days. ..
My battery had been exceptionally terrible the last 2 days as well
Noticed version 1.3.1 is out now
Update and save those batteries
I had backed up my last copy of FB. Now that the developers noticed the issue and released and update, so will I. Coo'
This may be an obvious answer, but how do we update the facebook app that's installed with the os?

Market
New update is still sucking my battery. Anyone got a link to the old version?
Edit: nevermind, you can just uninstall the updates by doing it in the market.
I wonder why some people have this problem and others don't. My friends sees the problem on his Incredible, but I don't see any drain on my N1.

Do you have the widget on the home screen? Otherwise check about phone, battery info, what's been using the battery and if android os is real high, then Facebook is probably preventing the phone from sleeping.

Your friend has more friends and hence more activity.

I havent had any problems with the new update, but then again, my facebook 'sync' options have never been enabled. I think today facebook updated itself again
I don't do anything with Facebook, but I do have the updated app installed and logged in. About 30 friends, sync with contacts, and no battery drain at all. System panel shows only 5 seconds of CPU time used over the last 8 hours.
Well I skipped Facebook 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 because of the battery drain. Today installed 1.3.2 and in 53 minutes the Facebook app was good for 50 minutes of partial wake time.
(and this is with update notifications set to never, etc.)
Uninstalled....reverted back to 1.2 and now no more partial wake usage from the app!
Having installed 1.3.2 my partial wake time is only 14s since unplugged for Facebook. I've got it set to notify me for messages and friend requests, plus it syncs contacts already in the phone. That said never had issues on 1.3.1.
Does anyone has the version 1.2 apk saved somewhere ? I'm looking for it and I can't desinstall the updates unfortunately.
Thank you in advance!
Any hosting service would do the trick
I haven't had a single problem in a week out of Facebook, in fact only the first day of using 1.3.1.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
The stock Android Facebook widget doesn't seem to be syncing correctly on the widget face. I can got into the app and get all the recent status updates but on the widget it self "up to date" status is like 3 days old.
Any one know of a fix or is it the facebook app its self.
I am running cm7 nightly 14 with newest gapps 307.
Thanks for any answers and wondering how many of you this is effecting as well.
Same here! I'm running a Sense ROM. Sometimes it works right then all of the sudden I'm looking at dude's ugly mug from last Wednesday. I was beginning to think maybe it didn't compile correctly after i modded. Glad to see I'm not alone!
Yea same here... caused me to stop using the widget. I don't have a fix for it myself... but I think it will be taken care of eventually.
I did more research outside of XDA and it look like its a problem within facebook and not Android or Roms.
For a while I had stayed with 2.3/GRH55 until I noticed that some apps weren't showing in the market. Add to the fact that GRH55 was never updated to the latest market version (it has been stuck on 2.12 since day one) and I finally decided to upgrade to 2.3.2. I can't see upgrading past there though. The >= 2.3.3 color profile doesn't bother me but I do like the <= 2.3.2 color profile better. The big deal breaker for me is the Facebook sync. I might considered upgrading to 2.3.4 permanently if there were an app out there that syncs Facebook information to your contacts the way the official app does on 2.3.2 and earlier. So far, all I can find are apps that grab Facebook photos and make them the person's gmail contact photo permanently. Not good for me.
So, am I the only holdout or are some of you also staying with 2.3.2 for some particular reason?

That's true, but I have my own set of issues with CyanogenMod. lol
CyanogenMod RC 7.1 seems nice and stable on the previous release my phone was constantly crashing
Will there be any method to have Motoblur (social networking app) on my defy with CM7 RC0? Thanks so much
Why would you want to do that? There are currently 2 choices for gingerbread on the Defy.
1. CM7 RC0 (vanilla gingerbread or at least very close to)
2. Leaked 2.3.4 with Motoblur
Just pick one.

RC1 is avaible too!
Anyway, CM7 is used from those who wants their device free of moto stuffs.
Your question doesn't make sense
Absolutely agree with carlo93.
I am for some strange reason absolutely loving the 2.3.4 MotoBLUR interface. Am I crazy?
I too wanted motoblur on cm7 just for facebook contact sync. well guess what? When u install cm7 and sign into your google account and that google apps pops up to choose things like youtube and gmail and facebook, the facebook has contact sync!!!!!!!! HUZZAAAAH. so if thats all you need motoblur for, cm7 will have it with the facebook app.

No, you aren't!
I love that interface too, even though there are some issues i can't stand ( red arrows if you disable mobile data, ultra-bright softkeys ).
By the way, when MotoBLUR syncs facebook contacts, it pulls high-res profile pictures. When the official facebook app syncs to your contacts, it pulls really low-res profile pictures (as in CM7's case).
+1 to MotoBLUR for this nifty detail!
motoblur on cm7?
whaaaat....
come on people..
that doesn't make any sense at all.
I think the alarm clock of MotoBlur is better than CM7.
But I can't install it in CM7

This one works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1114
It gives you the Moto alarm screen, with it's 'hit anywhere to snooze' or 'swipe to dismiss'. Which is probably the one reason people (including me ) like to Moto alarm app.
The capability to locate the phone when he's lost is a good thing too with motoblur...
( locate, delete datas, ... on a lost phone )
Dear All,
Have had the nexus 10 for a few weeks now and love it. Recently though, the tablet has been freezing quite a bit. Usually happens when I am browsing the web. In these instances I have to reboot to get the tablet functional again. Anyone else experience this and if so any suggestions on how to fix the issue? Also how do I check for updates on the nexus 10. The normal About Tablet field under settings does not seem to have the system update option anymore.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
CJ
Check some other threads, I read a lot of people are having reboot/freeze issues whilst using the browser, some have suggested
methods like not upgrading to 4.2.1 and disabling some 2D GPU.
did do a search

I did do a search but it did not provide a clear solution. Some people have said that they removed HD widgets. What widgets are these purple referring to? Also what do you mean when you say disable 2DGPU?
Finally, where is the system updates option in the Jelly bean?
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

Basically, it seems to be related to Google Location Services & some apps that use that... You could turn off location services unless needed in Settings... Or you could use a custom ROM... Most custom ROMs include fixes not yet included in stock...
I've got the same issue I have my Gps and location off and I still get reboot in chrome and dolphin browser. Sometimes it freezes during Google play app updates and downloads.
Could be an app could be the os , not hardware so it will get fixed eventually.

I had this issue while on stock 4.2.1 as well. So I put CM10 on there and bye, bye hangs/reboots.

This is a total noob question, but what is CM10?

read all about cyanogenmod or use the search button
I'm sorry to disappoint you guys, but on my Nexus ten running CM 10.1-20130205-NIGHTLY-manta i got a freeze and reboot 10 minutes ago.
The wireless bug also does not seem to be fixed. On google Hangouts my wifi connection drops after a few minutes and gets back in seconds, enough for g+ to disconnect from the hangout.
Google needs to fix this soon. Makes the tablet very unusable sometimes -.-
i got no reboot issue at all since the first day
running stock firmware and build number is JOP40F
In latest CM10.1 build 20130205 seems fixed hang or restart issue for me.
Disable Currents and don't use Chrome. Worked for me.
