Thanks tintingin but I want to use internet on my pc (which doesnot have wifi reciever) by connecting my phone via usb, and my fone is connected through wifi so i can use internet .... Think of it my phone is acting like a bridge ... Or a tunnel ...
The scenario i am having is :
Internet » router [wifi] » phone recieves wifi » nothing to link packets to the computer via usb » on pc [no internet connection available...]
What I really want:
Internet » router [wifi] » phone recieves wifi » an app that links phone wifi to usb tether » packets recieved through usb on pc » checks internet connectivity [internet connection available...]
Please look into this .... A Super Ultra thanks from me in advance

1)if one of ur pc has wifi card then u can make the pc as ur hot spot
so that u can connect ur phone through wifi and then usb tether ur phone to other pc.The only thing that creates a problem here is that to use the other hotspot u have to keep the pc on.whch is a lttle bit costly affair.

I dont need any wifi hotspot ... All i need is an app or anything that bridges my phone wifi to usb tether so i can use internet on pc (which doesn't have internet) !!
Its kinda complicated .... Lol
Any help would be utterly appreciated

[Q] [How To] share internet from laptop to HD2 (adroid) by USB connection?

hi every body. i've just bought new T-mobile and i tried alot of adroid verson ( matt, SC...) but i cant share internet from my laptop to hd2 by usb connection ( i'm using HTC sync)..
i want to do this..please help me...
thanks all..
I dont know what happen but when ppp went live usb tethering stopped working. Everyone uses wifi tether now.
Your laptop doesnt have wifi?
I asked a similar question sometime ago, please check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772244
The conclusion was: if you want to use your laptop's internet on the HD2 (in some kind of reverse tethering), the best is to use a software like VirtualRouter or Connectify to make an Acess Point from your wifi card that your HD2 can easily connect to. I am sorry, but there's not an easy USB solution like you have for Windows Mobile. I hope one day they to it, though.
You shouldnt need any special extra software. It just might be something that doesnt work in the kernal at the moment.
Native android devices can do it aslong as they are rooted.
Lets not say it isnt possible as that makes android sound gimp
My problem is: in my room..wifi is only enough for my lap ( HD2 can connect the wifi but because the wifi signal too weak...) and i'm using internet in my lap by wifi...so i cant using wifi tethering...hic....any solution??

Hey. I have this exact problem with my t-mobile vibrant galaxy s which I think from a technical point of view is the same device.
Didn't get an answer in the vibrant forums... but has anyone gotten any experience getting these galaxy devices connected to a wireless connection using a proxy for internet?
The easy solution..
use superoneclick PC application..Install it on PC...install ur phone driver...
turn phone to usb debugging mode...connect it..
then click ROOT on SUPERONECLICK
it will root u as super user..
Then download "ASPROXY apk " and install it in ur phone...set ur proxy setting...
then wifi can be used in ur applications...aswell...
happy rooting...

Mr. kardes4 you didn't get the Mr. neo1691's point.
He want to access the Internet of his PC/laptop into his Galaxy without using Wifi
And this mobile ap let's to share the Internet of our Galaxy's "Internet" over PC/Laptop. and he want Vice-Versa.
Mr. neo1691 want the app that make the USB of Galaxy turn into the LAN kind of wire. And if we plug in the USB into our Galaxy, the PC/Laptop's internet starts working on the PHONE.
Right Mr. neo1691.

It can be done with changing a wifi card to Access Point mode, but you don't have any, right?
Through USB... hmm, you will need an USB Host option, but our CPU doesn't support that.
BT it can work, but I don't see any post to proove that. I know it can be done at SE P990. If you're an programmer, write app for that

Hey guys... i just stumbled upon some article in the newspaper that u can use ur laptop as a wifi router to share internet connection with your mobile devices..!!!!!
is it possible guys..!!!!
i am keepin my fingers crossed
Yes you can do that but not via USB.
what you need:
1. a laptop or pc with wifi adapter.
2. win 7. (this is not for vista and XP)
3. a tool like "Connectify" that is free.
this is very simple, just follow the instructions from "Connectify".
Good luck

Well, as far as I know there is no software to do it for you.
But still you have an option, you must set up an "ad hoc" network connection.
this will share Internet over your wifi or wireless LAN adapter.
Its not hard to do that just Google the "ad hoc" for instruction.

Connectify is working with win 7!
probably your problem is from the wifi setting of the cell phone.
For the other software (I'm not sure) but you can try virtual router.
and ... Internet from USB? I don't think it's possible yet because we need an enabled USB Host mode phone.
I think some people are working on that but it's still way to go.
Accessing PC internet on Samsung Galaxy 3 I5801 via USB
BTW this WiFi thing should be discussed in some other post. Isn't it? This post is all concerned about using PC internet on phone via USB.
I'm also looking for it. Please friends, someone do something to make it work.
Ad-hoc
okay connectify is for windows 7..!!!!
i have vista..!!!
the following article tells us how to set up an ad-hoc on laptop to share internet on laptop temporarily..!!!
http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2061/vista_set_up_an_ad_hoc_network/
now does ad hoc is supported by our beloved android system???
Anyone???

hi there. everyone is wrong here. lol
I have play as well. you don't need to use the Bluetooth. u don't need any app(depending if ur network provider has disabled tethering) here is how u use it like a wifi modem.
application>settings>wireless and networks> Tethering and Portable hotspots> portable wi-fi hot spot must be checked. then use port. wi-fi hotsport setting to change the name or the password for the wireless.
now use ur laptop and refresh the list. u must see (R800a or R800i be default name)
this could be disabled from ur network provider. if that's the case try using PDANET. its free to try and always works great with USB.
You could use the hotspot option but they charge for the data if you dont have hotspot service enabled they r gonna charge like crazy so the best way is to use an app that is gonna bypass that and he wants to use bluetooth tether so thats why im giving him that option

thx everyone , Is it more power-consuming via wifi function ?
And is it possible to access internet via USB (modem) ?
My play supports tethering via usb standard.
