I need some help here , my GT works well on 3g internet but almighty cant connect my apps on wifi . When I am info the office, I connect to wifi , my browsers work, I can browse with skyfire dolphine firefox, etc but my apps, games, readers, etc cannot connect to wifi, I was wondering ife it has to does with the proxy ..
2. is there and application that can control which apps get wet to connect, a firewall kind of ?

Hey. I have this exact problem with my t-mobile vibrant galaxy s which I think from a technical point of view is the same device.
Didn't get an answer in the vibrant forums... but has anyone gotten any experience getting these galaxy devices connected to a wireless connection using a proxy for internet?
The easy solution..
use superoneclick PC application..Install it on PC...install ur phone driver...
turn phone to usb debugging mode...connect it..
then click ROOT on SUPERONECLICK
it will root u as super user..
Then download "ASPROXY apk " and install it in ur phone...set ur proxy setting...
then wifi can be used in ur applications...aswell...
happy rooting...

hi guyz i downloaded the wmwifi router 1.52 yesterday ....i have an
htc touch(elf)
and i want to do this (pc)internet--->htc touch--->laptop
means i wanna share my pc internet to the laptop throught my ppc....
i tried it in all the way i posibble could but nthing happns.....the connection is successful but the it shows limited connectivity on both pc n laptop while the ppc sayz it cant obtain an ip.....

With the help of a couple of other people I have got this working on my G1 in adhoc mode. It acts as an access point to allow tethering. Laptop --> WiFi-->3G/Edge
This will take advantage of the 3G connection and use the wifi as the local lan.
I DID NOT do all the work on this.

connect my ppc via usb to the pc tat has internet thn enabling the usb to wifi option in wmwifi router so it can act as an access point...thn connecting my laptop to it....!!!!
now the thing is my laptop connects bt has no internet..!!!!

Just get a twisted - pair utp cable, and plug one side in your pc, one in your laptop.
Share the connection of the pocket pc, and your ready to go.
helloo............the idea is to make my ppc a router..!!!!!
Look for how to turn ur PPC as USB wifi
or
Make things simple, get a router/access point.
Enable Internet Connection Sharing in the PC. Google how to share internet in win and u will find it.
I think this is the simplest and the best solution.

You want to what? Why would you need to share the internet on your PC to your laptop? Just get a $30 router from WalMart for that.
If you want to turn your PPC into a router, WMWiFiRouter is what you need. But this lets you connect your laptop to the internet over your phone's DATA CONNECTION!
I have used WiFiRouter for a long time now, it is alright aside from draining the battery beyond anything imaginable and turning my HTC Touch Pro (Alltel) into a toaster over...
I have heard about XDA releasing a Free version of wifi sharing for vga devices like my Alltel HTC Touch Pro... where is the link to this, I googled/searched/went to Engadget/Gizmodo etc and can't seem to find it...

Thanks for the effort jeremy89632 but i had stumbled upon it earlier but i got stuck while running it. everything is OK but it is not connecting to internet

Mmm, Im not too sure than.
Why not you try to use your phone to surf?
ICS Control will do the Job for you, if you configure it correctly
On the Public interface select your Phone Wi-FI card: in my case TNETW1211
On the Private Interface your USB: RNDISFN1
Set the Private IP to what ever option you want
then Start ICS
and connect your phone to the PC, once Active sync is connected. go back to ICS control and go to the DHCP tab and hit refresh you will see the IP that ICS will try to give to your computer.
Then just go to your IP settings on your computer change the IP settings of your Phone conecction to what ever ICS is giving you...
Example if you selected private ip 192.168.2.1 this ip will be your gateway, the ip of the pc will be whatever ICS assined like 192.168.2.57, network mask will be 255.255.255.0 and DNS you can use 4.2.2.2 or the ip of your phone again 192.168.2.1
Hope I didn't make the mess bigger but that's how it works for a fact cause I'm using it righ now.

I have not try it me self.
Get easytether lite on the market, It's free, doesn't go through a proxy, and allows https sites. I've been using it since I got my phone, works great and is very fast to connect.
Edit: Sorry didn't realize you said wirelessly, as far as I know you have to be root for that to work.

well i was just trying to find out that if there is a way by which we can share ther internet connection that we have on our pc/laptop to our android phone without using wifi....
ie if we can share internet from our pc/laptop to ur android(galaxy 3 in this case) via USB or BLUETOOTH....

And this mobile ap let's to share the Internet of our Galaxy's "Internet" over PC/Laptop. and he want Vice-Versa.

It can be done with changing a wifi card to Access Point mode, but you don't have any, right?
Through USB... hmm, you will need an USB Host option, but our CPU doesn't support that.
BT it can work, but I don't see any post to proove that. I know it can be done at SE P990. If you're an programmer, write app for that

Its a positive point for Windows phone, that we can use Internet connection via USB cable in that without any external setting / problem..

Yes you can do that but not via USB.
what you need:
1. a laptop or pc with wifi adapter.
2. win 7. (this is not for vista and XP)
3. a tool like "Connectify" that is free.
this is very simple, just follow the instructions from "Connectify".

Well, as far as I know there is no software to do it for you.
But still you have an option, you must set up an "ad hoc" network connection.
this will share Internet over your wifi or wireless LAN adapter.
Its not hard to do that just Google the "ad hoc" for instruction.

Connectify is working with win 7!
probably your problem is from the wifi setting of the cell phone.
For the other software (I'm not sure) but you can try virtual router.
and ... Internet from USB? I don't think it's possible yet because we need an enabled USB Host mode phone.
I think some people are working on that but it's still way to go.

Hello guyz. I need some help.
I want to use internet on my lappy via sgy. I have tried usb tethering & creating portable wifi hotspot but using them, the internet disconnects frequently (specially with usb, the connection gets lost or doesn't respond).
So kindly tell me a way to fix these issues or some other way to use internet (like by using bluetooth)...
NOTE: I am on HSDPA network.

Easytether, the easiest app for tethering i've ever seen it works well, i used it in college to bypass the proxy, this way i was able to play Quake Live in class during exams ^^"
