Hiya
Is there a way of switching between 2g/3g without having to enter the menu and tick the box?
Currently using powertoggles and it just redirects you to the menu.
Cheers
There are widgets but if you flash a custom rom, you are able to do it from notification bar
p.s.: Did you try at Play Store before posting?
Would like to do it via the notification bar if possible, I have tried a few apps but both redirected rather then switched.
Cheers

I'd recommend the latest CyanogenMod nightly. It has this feature (toggling data modes in quick settings) and is in my opinion, a lot stabler and stock-like than most other custom ROMs.
See here for an example: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-...I/AAAAAAAACtg/J4U5LOiGgjE/w497-h373/photo.jpg

Personally, CM is my rom of choice. However, there are a few features which i love from MIUI. Which feature would be YOUR favorite to see recreated to the rom of your choice?
Here are a few features with screenshots...
1) Phone Smart Dialer w/ recorder etc.
2) Dropdown menu "shortcuts" (scrollable settings toggle ex. wifi, gps etc)
3) File Explorer Apk
4) Monitor Apk with firewall features, traffic control settings etc (see pics)
5) Lockscreen Music controls (w/ phone, sms count)
6) Look of MIUI along w/ iphone type launcher (lack of)
7) Misc. Settings Features: dnd, security (device administrators), backup options
8) Any other feature I have missed here!
here's a few more:
9.) Long press on back button to fully close app
10.) Long press Home for recent/app killer/app manager
11.) BUILT IN THEMING (Theme Downloader/ Theme Manager)
12.) MIUI Backup
13.) Many launcher animations
MIUI itself is closed source, so, none of it will be ported easily. :/
I do like the dialer though.
wow! you guys were fast!! ...here were the other screenshots.

correct, i should have left it as "recreated" as i did in the post. (Not "ported") ...the dialer is nice. I love the music/equilizer lockscreen feature (for looks primarily) If i didn't have unlimited text, data etc. being able to set limits w/ the traffic filter and data management would be nice too.
-visitor mode to hide text and phone

This is a cm6 feature but I liked the feature of being able to hold the volunlme rocker down to change songs while the screens off and listening to music

Oh, forgot about menu + volume down = screenshot
All I want is the ability to clear the phantom cm notification like cm has. Then I would use miui.

I stared at that damn thing for 3 damn months and finally got rid of it yesterday. Permanently. It's so nice not seeing that annoying thing anymore.

I know, but that's a pain and not necessary with cm6 and cm7, which is why I want the feature in miui.
File Explorer is better than Astro... and I didn't think it would be. It is so advanced.

Its my understanding that in CM you can clear it but it still returns, only having to clear it again. This method gets rid of it permanently and only takes about 30 minutes. I had to redo my setup and used that as my excuse to take care of this, and im glad i did.
Uhmmm why the hell does miui look like ios?

You can choose to never show the icon in cm. We need that option in miui.
Miui backup app
Hi,
how can I get the standalone MIUI backup app?
I need to restore the phone registry on a non-MIUI ROM, is that possible?
Thank you.
It's the apps. So many apps that are pay-for quality ate bundled in MIUI it makes it hard to stay away.
File Explorer with it's FTP abilities, usage monitoring and automatic throttling, firewall, built-in tethering...it's just very complete.
Then there is the graphical polish in menus, lock screen, etc.
If it wasn't closed source it would be the perfect ROM.

I would NOT like to see any off MIUI stuff in sense... I would like opposite, sense battery life, 4G and camera quality in MIUI.
Right now testing MIUI and those 3 things are weak... but nice fresh look, and feels almost as new phone...
Hi,
The notification bar of the stock Nexus 7 rom is really useless except the notifications. Is there any way to add toggles like Samsung Galaxy series phones to the notification bar ?
also, in description of some custom roms, I read:
Custom Navbar Targets (Up to 7)
Custom Navbar Ring Targets (Up to 5)
What does that mean ?
Thanks.
For adding toggles, I've been happiest with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc

Thank you. That's a good one. Although I was looking for a something integrated to the systemUI, Power Toggles does what I need.

there's always notification toggle as well, which should do exactly what you're looking for
Best way to get the integrated experience is to use AOKP or CM10 (or one of the variants).

what do you mean by "integrated experience" ?
do I have to wipe data when passing from Stock 4.1.2 to any custom rom (4.1.2) ?

The only way to get then built into the systemui is to flash a rom that has em. Yes you will need to wipe data going from stock to cm10 or aokp. I would suggest buying titanium backup and use that to backup all your apps. Then once reflashed on your custom Rom reinstall TiBu and restore apps you absolutely need data from like games. And then just restore the app only for apps you don't needs data from.

Try this : https://play.google.com/store/apps/...rch_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5qaW0yIl0.
I use SwitchPro Widget rather than ones that come with the roms. Plenty of custom options. Well worth the price.

notification toggle
There is actually an app called "notification toggle" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwiZGUuajR2ZWxpbi5ub3RpZmljYXRpb25Ub2dnbGUiXQ..
no linky.
+1 for notification toggle..good app.

+2 for 'Notification Toggle' in Play Store. Unbelievable # of choices, including single-digit battery %, user apps, all the normal toggles.
thanks for all the solutions , apps that are suggested on this thread.
I've tried most of them and they seem to be working as requested.
However, the best solution is to use a rom with integrated features.
I've used Cookies&Cream 10/16 1.3.1 and it's fine enough.
thank you all...
Power Toggles, Notification Toggles, 1TapQuickBar and Notification Bar Deluxe are all I know
Hey all, I unlocked/rooted my phone and I'm wondering if there's anyway to customize which settings are in the notification bar? I'm hesitant to install a new rom because the stock rom has been solid, and I had less than stellar results on past android devices when using custom roms (random fc's, slowdowns, etc, even with CM).
Anyway, I basically want a quick flashlight toggle, and maybe put a few more quick settings options in there. Would it require a new rom?

Thanks, another question... what about customizing the unlock screen? Like dragging the slider up opens voice search and left opens camera?:good:
Install battery widget reborn, it has nice notification area, with flashlight, wifi settings, bluetooth, data sync, pretty much everything you have in quick settings

I'm pretty sure that it would require a ROM to put it on the lock ring but there's a camera lockscreen widget and you can touch and hold the nav bar on the lock screen to get search

OP, this is a Nexus. You won't find more functional ROMs. Just pick one and flash it.
I know certain ROMs come with extended desktop/pie controls but is there a flashable mod anywhere with that feature? If so, can something like that be ported to the Nexus 10 for use on the Project Flaming Monkey ROM? I wish PFM and ParanoidAndroid merged: that ROM would be perfect.
Try this. I've been using it on my N10 for a couple of weeks & it works fine. I haven't tried a custom ROM yet so not sure how it compares to the pie controls in those. The developer says he'll be adding more functionality soon. He also made it available free to xda members here. It's a couple bucks in the Play Store.

I'm using Purity ROM with Trinity Kernel. (see my signature for links). Flash the free LMT zip which has adds PIE plus more desktop extensions. I also bought Smart Statusbar+ for an auto hide statusbar.
LMT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
Smart Statusbar: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kiumiu.ca.statusbar.free&hl=en
An alternative is Full!screen which I used to use on rooted stock along with LMT.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.tsorn.FullScreen&hl=en
Have fun.
I've used LMT in the past, when I've tried other ROMs. I always find myself back using AOKP ribbons. For whatever reason I dig it. LMT has a ton of functionality though. Also, if you use nova launcher, it can hide the status bar. I like to hide my status bar and the nav bar and use the bottom ribbon for nav controls.
I use Full!Screen and like it very much.
I just wish it wouldn't constantly pop up screen notifications saying that it was granted super user privileges, even when it's not in use.

I think you turn that off in SuperSU or what ever you are using. That was not an issue when I used full!screen.

Thank you!
I had no idea what SuperSU could do until you mentioned this.
I've tried using Custom Quick Settings on AOSP stock rooted ROM and it works great.
But I can't get it to work properly on any CM based ROM's I've tried so far. I can add up to four new Quick Settings tiles that show up fine in the Quick Settings pull-down.
But I can only add four. The app lets me create as many custom tiles as I want, but only the first four show up in the pull-down.
Is this happening with anyone else?
I asked the dev about it but he just kind of shrugged his shoulder at it.
