Geez... the American prices are so much better then the Canadian.
20$ more for a 2yr vs 3 year? What a joke.
on top of which Americans get the 100$ rebate which I don't believe Canadians qualify for.
I honestly have trouble swallowing the 179$ price tag. @ that price point I think it might be more worth while buying the Iphone, selling it and buying the HTC One. Will probably be 50-100$ cheaper. Even more perhaps.
EDIT: The 100$ USA only thing really leaves a bad taste in my mouth... might actually be the reason I don't buy the HTC one.
As a canadian I hate being ripped off all the time.

Agreed 100%, it sucks, but unfortunately there's not a whole lot we can do about it right now.

I agree but don't blame HTC. The one doing the trade up offer is not HTC but a 3rd party company who just made parnership with HTC to provide this offer.
The company I think is http://www.cloverwireless.com/ which is a US based company.

What does Sprint: 800/1900 Mhz mean? Does that mean this phone will come with an LTE radio that runs on 800 and/or 1900? How does that tie into this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160160
Rogers Reservation went live today for the One.
T-Mobile promotion terms include that phone must be purchased before March 31st to qualify for $100 trade in program, I'm assuming March 15th, or 22nd release (giving customers two or at least a week respectively to purchase the phone).

Looks like none of the ones being sold in the US can use 4G in the US and 4G in Asia. Would have been nice for those that travel between Asia and the US often to have one smartphone where one can get 4G/LTE in both countries.
Hong Kong is running 800/2600 from what I know and none in the US are running off that band.

Not too surprising - There's a large number of LTE radio bands and which ones are used where depends on local network conditions. I'm not sure how many bands you can make any one chip use.
Rogers got 2600 MHz pretty much every where in GTA, and its extensively extending that band in Quebec and other provinces this coming spring. I am switching to Rogers as soon as I get my HTC one.

if you go to bestbuy reward zone member site, you are able to access a page where it shows the phones best buy is going to serve
and sprint is serving black and silver while att and t mobile serving silver only, not sure if best buy is correct or not.
but im on sprint so yayyyy, and my upgrade is coming on April 1st.

Hey guys. Since I spent the last few days looking for Xperia Z2 pre-order offers, I thought I'll share my findings with you. Here's the list of offers I managed to find. Please be advised that I included SIM-Free and unlocked offers only, as I don't care about contracts - for those you simply need to look at your network's page - and only retailers I personally know and trust as I ordered stuff from them before.
I know that some of them have already been mentioned here, but thought it would be nice to have them all in one place. Also, they are mostly UK retailers, but som if not most of them will ship within the EU so feel free to browse, even if you don't live here.

You might be right. This is a bit confusing, they posted the bundle on the SIM-Free page as well, but the * says "selected pay monthly deals".
Where did you find shipping dates for Clove and handtec? I see Clove says they will have stock starting the 7th. handtec doesn't appear to say anything. I'm not too familiar with these sites so I might just not be seeing it. If they are saying they will ship between 7-14 that would be good news. Thanks.

"First stock due week commencing 7th April"
This week is the 7th to 14th window. I assume they will ship as soon as they get the stock, that's why I put this date. All the dates, however, are not guaranteed.
Interestingly, I got an e-mail from Amazon's customer service and they assured me that their Z2s will ship on the 14th of April.
I don't get it, the phone was supossed to be released this month and sony said they're not delaying the launch only that their stock is limited but where are the phones? The phone should be out this week (last week of march) , it sounds plausible since the Xperia tablet Z2 was already released, but I haven't seen any early unboxings of the Z2 , any sample pictures from final hardware/software apart from the ones coming from Japan, the ones the press took while they were in Barcelona :crying: and that Clove review
I made payment to Clove and waiting for delivery.But still thanks.
Sony why must you hate the US
Pre-orders
wow thanks, I had a gdoc with all of this in and was checking the links seperately.
I too am leaning towards the amazon deal as I already have some gift balance available.
I do kinda wish they would price match the others though especially as the other's have a "better value" pre-order.

I just paid £360 to get out of my Vodafone contract early. Their network performance is shocking. Less 3g masts and when you do get one one, the performance isn't there, in my experience.
Would strongly recommend steering clear of their network!
Yeah I am on Vodafone in London and I hate it. Will be going else where for sure.
I haven't been able to find anything better than what's been posted already. Please update if the offers change or something new comes along.

Still, no purple version though Maybe purple isn't coming to the UK? I can't find it anywhere.
Yes, amazing price (that's why I put an exclamation mark in my title).
Price includes vat, don't know how much the postage is.
Green colour not available from Clove, available at Handtec but costs a lot more.
Wow. That's actually an insane price. I'm seriously tempted the cancel my Sony Store order and get it through these guys instead.

2 quick questions as I'm a newbie to importing:
1) Do I have to pay "VAT" if I'm importing to the United States?
2) Would Sony honor the warranty on this 'grey market' device in the United States?
Thanks for any help you can give

You'll need to pay the vat as it's been sold in the UK and the taxman will want his cut of that sale.
Don't know about the warranty, it could be a European one or Worldwide, you'll need to contact the seller or Sony to check.
Also you'll need to check that the GSM will work in your region.
Update - No vat to pay for exporting.
I'll probably order a red one from Clove tomorrow,I hope this isn't a typo and they honor the price. I'm sure though I've seen it on Clove before at £420, so it does look like this is a genuine price reduction.
http://www.handtec.co.uk/sony-xperia-z3-compact-16gb-green.html
£425.99 incVAT
£354.99 exVAT
Thanks for the info on the low price! Went ahead and ordered one from Clove.
Ordered mine. Great price. Happy to see Sony going for volume over margin. Hope to see lots of development on this, as it should be incredibly popular. Honestly expected it to be £500 at the Sony store and ~£440 at the cheaper retailers.
Re: importing to the US, you shouldn't need to pay VAT (contact the retailer to make sure they don't charge - may be better to order over the phone), but you will need to pay import / customs duty and possibly sales tax in your state in the US.
Me too. Brilliant value
GREAT! Thanks!
Just brought a red/orange one from Handtec, since they use DPD which is my favorite delivery company.
Does anybody know if the phone their sell is UK model, EU or grey import?
P.S. DPD will give you 1 hr window slot in the morning of delivery, and you can track the drive on a map to see roughly when you will get your delivery within the 1hr time frame. Much better than other company's 8am to 6pm delivery time frame, too afraid to go the the bathroom for missing the door bell approach.

There are only two models: D5803 and D5833. The D5803 has UK and EU bands, as well as bands for some US carriers. The D5833 is the one for Asian markets. You can be sure the Handtec one is the D5803.
Handtec removed the green z3c and also matched price with clove - both are about 290 GBP without VAT
Ordered mine today and was pleasantly surprised when it came out to 290 GBP at the checkout since I'm from Canada and don't have to play the VAT fee! Best pre-order pricing for a beastly phone eVar!
P.S. LULz at all the Apple fanboys waiting in line and paying nearly twice as much for a significantly more inferior phone, but hey, whatever floats your boat!

From history, it has always been the case that sim free Sony phones from any outlet always allow unlocking of the bootloader. I doubt that this would change this generation.
Hah! Just noticed Clove is basically selling the Z3C for the same price as a Z1C. That's crazy!

Same as UK D5803.
Does anyone have any experience ordering from Sony online? Return/exchange hassles? With the reports of some people getting units that the flaps don't close, I want to be sure that an exchange will be easy. I hope Amazon itself will sell these. Even if it were a bit more, I think I'd pay a bit more to be sure of good customer support if something goes wrong.
Figures...I just bought one via Ebay last week...Latin American version I think...Wish I would have known this was coming...Is it possible to flash the software that will come with the US version to the unit I have? Or will it break the camera?

Based in NJ, USA.
Sony = $529.99 + $37.10 tax = $567.10 and no ETA
Amazon = $519 + no tax -$25.95 (Chase Freedom 5% cashback) = $493.05 and delivered 10/18
Is why I asked if it was the same phone/firmware. I think amazon will be selling the UK version though. Both still have 1 year warranty.

Just an FYI, the phone you linked to on Amazon is not sold by Amazon, it is from a 3rd party.
Now that the Sony U.S. store officially sells these, should those of us who bought from, say, Clove, be able to get warranty service from Sony in the U.S.?
Or would we still have to go through the international original vendor like Clove?

It's likely the UK model sold by a 3rd party. If I was not buying direct from Amazon or Sony, I'd likely get it from clove. With 1-3 day DHL shipping, it's $496 at the current exchange rate. I'm not sure about your chase cash back and why it doesn't work with Sony, but perhaps it'd work with Clove? In that case, it'd be even cheaper.
I've ordered from Sony directly, but I hope we can get an updated shipping time soon. If you're a student, they are giving 10% off for students at SonyStyle as well.

Thanks! It says you either have to be a student or the parents of a student; I wonder if you have to have a .edu email? If so, I'll have my fiancé sign up with her college email.
Nice! Now $476.99 buying from sony store!
Are we sure this is exactly the same as the European version? I count ten 4g/lte bands listed on the US version, but I only count 9 in the European one.
And do we know a ship date yet?

Hi everyone
Thought I'd make a thread for prospective Australian owners to discuss the device.
I'm personally super excited by the fact that the Nexus phone is a phablet. A bit less enthused by the price but we'll wait for the official $AU price. It'll still be cheaper than the $900+ Note 4 which is its only other competitor currently.
Looks like it'll be coming to Telstra in December according to the well connected and reliable Crazy CS from Whirlpool:
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2324246&p=3#r50
If so, that means it'll probably get released in JB Hifi and Officeworks. Maybe it'll be a bit cheaper like last year with their marginally better than RRP prices for the Nexus 5.
Anyways discuss away
I'm excited with this release and been waiting for this phone but bit disappointed with the listed price, I was hoping @ 500 mark.
Carrier release info:
http://ausdroid.net/2014/10/16/which-australian-carriers-will-offer-the-nexus-6-and-nexus-9/
I paid like 700 for the Galaxy Nexus here OZ. I'd pay it again for a smaller a Nexus 6. Why is there no choice if you want better battery and stock Android?
Re: Prices
So the AU prices for the Nexus 9 are out. As you can see there is roughly a 1.2x multiplier from the US price which is fortunately less than currency conversion + GST.
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Nexus-Tablet-8-9-Inch-Black/dp/B00M6UC5B4
https://play.google.com/store/devic...Wi_Fi_Indigo_Black?id=nexus_9_black_16gb_wifi
Nexus 9
16GB = $399.99 US = $479 AU – 1.198 multiplier
32GB = $479.99 US = $589 AU – 1.227 multiplier
Plus of course the $19.95 shipping.
Extrapolating to the Nexus 6 (1.2 multiplier)
32GB = $649.99 US = $779.99 AU = $799.94 shipped
64GB = $699.99 US = $839.99 AU = $859.95 shipped
https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Nexus_6_32GB_Midnight_Blue?id=nexus_6_blue_32gb
Preorder link but not open for pre-orders yet.
Personally a bit high for me as a day 1 purchase from the playstore. Think I might wait a couple of weeks and try to nab one off a local retailer (JB/OW/HN etc) for 10-20% off ala what happened with the Nexus 7. Although come to think of it, did they ever stock the nexus 5/4? Thought they only sold nexus tablets?
From past history grey importers like Kogan/DWI have not sold Nexuses for cheaper than RRP either.
Hmmm....needs more thought.
wow, not buying at that price point, goole lost me with this one.
Gone are the days of Nexus being device for poor man, they've joined the premium club.
With the release of the FCC data of the international and US version of the N6, we can see the lte and 3g bands they support. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/nexus-6-fcc-t2917562
Band 28 is what you really want...
Red = None
Blue = US
Orange= International
Green = both

Before the Nexus 4, Nexus devices weren't cheap. The nexus 6 and 9 are definitely not as cheap as I'd want but they're still cheaper than the competition and google has upped the build quality a lot
Sent from my LG G2 running CloudyG3 ?
Well I paid $800 for the Galaxy Nexus (my first ever Android phone) when it was released - it was cool when I got it but looking back I wouldn't have got that phone again. Could've got the Galaxy S2 cheaper at the time.
The Nexus 6 looks to cost about $750 for the 64gb version shipped, purchased from overseas of course. From talking with some phone guys at Telstra they expect the Nexus 6 to retail outright around $800-$900, depending on where you get it from. That is not a good deal in my opinion. Considering the inflation in our prices for tech devices between $750 and $850/$900 could be very close to right for the 64gb version.

Buy from Google play for $699 + the usual $50 shipping to Australia will put it at $749 for the 64gb or purchase through carrier at the (as I was told) approximate price between $800 and $900 per phone.
$900 for Nexus 6 is actually more expensive than the Note 4; you can pick that up cheaper elsewhere.

Oh, but then you wouldn't have decent telstra 4g... I though you had another way of getting the international edition.
Thanks for the reply though!

If you wanted the phone cheaper with Telstra 4G I would get a Telstra plan (with no phone included) and buy the Nexus 6 outright from Google.
That is not a cheap option BUT could be slightly cheaper than going direct to Telstra. Telstra may have the best 4G network but in reality it is not much better than the other carriers. Fact. Telstra are WAY overpriced. I quit them for Vodafone and while Vodafone is cheaper and the internet is slightly less stable, I'm still able to carry on my business as per normal without problems.
FYI my original Telstra plan was:
$80 per month which included:
- 1 phone (Samsung Galaxy Ace)
- 1.1 gigs download per month
- 100 free calls
- 100 free texts
- 50 free international calls
- Locked in for TWO YEARS
My current Vodafone plan is:
$28 per month which includes:
- 2 gig download per month
- 500 free calls
- 500 free texts to any phone in Australia
- Locked in for one year
- Free phone (ironically, Samsung Galaxy Ace)

Pretty much what I'm planning to do.
I need the reception as I spend a lot of time in really marginal service areas where the extra range of 700mhz of 850mhz should make a significant difference.
I've thought about Optus, as they have a pretty decent remote area coverage but it just isn't as good as Telstra. I'm on a Telstra plan already, so I'll just keep going with that.

I signed up for the 70$ byo testa plan the other month.. receive 3.5gb for upgrading 950 in calls and unlimited sms/mms... I grandfathered my previous plan from when I got my galaxy nexus due to the value dropping significantly in that time period up to now. I continually complained when they used to call to try and get you to upgrade. Nexus 6 will be preorder on first available date just like with the 9 last week

wow, google is really screwing us now. At current conversion rate US 650 comes to AUD 758, instead we'll have to pay AUD 869 for 32GB version, not happy at all. Not sure if delivery is on top of that or is included?
For AUD 60 more, 64GB device makes more sense if anyone buys, that is.
Edit: change AUD 30 to 60

Hi,
Looks like you can preorder Nexus 6P in US, UK, Canada. I'm still seeing "Coming soon" in Play Store Finland, as well as in Germany&Netherlands when trying via VPN. Has there been any mention anywhere when the availability will be broadened?
Yeah the same is happening? Last night it was Pre-order now, and this morning I check to buy it and it says Coming Soon.

not available in Italy too..tried to order from UK with VPN but it didn't ship to Italy.
Although I'm happy now it didn't...it's 150$ more then the US for the 6P.

Considering 24% VAT in Finland for example and with average US sales tax of 9%:
Buy it in US: $499 * 1,09 = $544 = 506€
Order it from US to EU via MyUs.com: 464€ * 1,24 + 20€ (shipping estimate) = 595€
Order from UK to other EU country: 636€ + 20€ (assuming there's some mailbox service in UK) = 656€
Wait and order it from local shop : 649€ * million of having to wait = Unbearable
Considering that you need power adapter in many cases if you order it from abroad, all options suck. Not no mention if US phones work in EU. How is it nowadays?

I don't care..and nobody should. -same phone- should be the same price and not 50% more *after* USA taxes. The consumer shouldn't think about Google and VAT. We should only think about the final price and that one vs other prices around the globe(/USA). it's def a ripoff. What I will be doing though is just order and ship to a friend from the US that will bring it to me in a few weeks in hand. a week difference and no less then 150$ extra in your wallet..which is almost half of a new 5X!
Last time I did that(With the Nexus 5 and a Galaxy S4) I didn't have any issues with reception..if the carrier supports LTE then it will most likely run great in your country.
What really makes me angry is that if Google has official support for several countries outside of the US(and they don't support hundreds of countries officially in EU & Asia..only a few), then they should have the same pricing for them as the USA. Why do I need official support in the UK if it doesn't make the services cheaper? bah
Still waiting for preorder in Switzerland.. i'm getting pissed off waiting for so long now. They announced 26. October for Switzerland and as of now there is not any information about shipping available!
Devices seem to be shipping soon in Australia and India but no word on Europe ? WTF ?
On a German website is written that the 6P will be available by 9. November, marketing starts on 2. November.
I don't know how reliable that is but it's a well-known website here.
