So I'm confused how the matr1x kernel works. I used Franco kernel for about one month and used his app to adjust settings. However with matr1x kernel are the best settings already set? If not, is there a way to adjust these settings?

I'll try to answer your questions. Yes, the best settings for the kernel are probably already set. To change them, you can use any CPU control app. Some ROMs even have a section in Settings for that.

I'm trying to decide which one I would rather use. I am leaning towards faux but with the coming of the display control app I'm not sure if the 5 dollar kernel control app will be enough.
If you think it is worth the 5 dollars for either one tell me. Then tell me which you use and why, I want to figure this out today!
Thanks guys

If you want to change the colors, I'd try Trickster MOD first.
Flash franco's kernel and buy his app

I started using Franco, but it didn't offer enough control of the gamma, which is pretty important if you're going to calibrate your screen really well and get images that really pop out at you.
Using FauxDisplay now, (which seems to work fine on my N4 with Matr!x kernel), and getting some decent calibrations.
Odp: Franco or Faux display control?
I'm using trickster mod with enhanced stock kernel by faux.

i don't want to sound harsh or anything, but please try the kernel first, and then buy something !
I bought the display control and it worms just fine with his enhanced stock kernel. I did have some trouble getting it to work at the beginning but after that it was pretty easy

Hello everyone,
I am searching for an app, that allows me to switch off CPU cores of my Nexus and do decide how much min core and how much max cores will work. I can't find such settings in SetCPU.
Does anybody know such an app?
Use trickstermod.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
You will need trickster mod, aswell as a custom kernel with a configuarable hotplug system or eco mode.
I would recommend Franco Kernel Updater app along with franco kernel itself.
You can tweak how many cores come online when you touch the screen , max and min frequencies , screen color adjustments (Recommended values from obsanity is amazing!) , everything you would ever think of to tweak in a kernel manually , is scripted in this app.
It's highly recommended , you wouldn't be disappointed with it.

Thank you guys! I will give franco kernel a try, with the corresponding app. Because I want to try undervolting as well.
The nightly r183 seems to be the latest for 4.3 (I am running the Stock ROM). Does it have any discovered bugs?
If you want to make your device for example 2 cores on only franco kernel won't work you will need a kernel like: neo, matr1x or faux and use trickster mod (or for faux you can use faux enhancement project) apps and go in hotplug settings

One of the things I liked about Franco kernel was that you had the color tuning option. I understand that Franco kernel isn't compatible with Xposed framework (or something along those lines it really isn't clear) but I'm stock 4.4 with lots of Xposed and would like to be able to fine tune color saturation and all that. Anyone know of a solid custom kernel that would allow me to do that and still be compatible with Xposed? I had to use the Franco kernel app before with his kernel.

if you install a kenel like hells core or ak you can download the app "trickster mod"
there hava a opcion that can change the calibrete of the screen like
-google (stock nexus 4)
-lg
-halfbreed
etc
works perfect and is the most simple and easy
Franco works fine with xposed.

Seems like I was reading through that thread and saw some issues with the Xposed mods. Maybe my bad. Another thing I struggled with is knowing which to download. I can't seem to decipher nightlies from stable releases.

Xposed doesn't work with the ART runtime, that might be what you read?
And don't stress over Franco - there is no stable release for the N4 since he's making little changes a couple times a week. Just flash the most recent nightly from the official thread. We're on version 199 right now.

And since we're on the conversation of the Franco kernel is there support for 4.4.1 or 4.4.2? I see this as the heading. I'm curious because I haven't upgraded past 4.4 yet and not really sure if I'm gonna fool with going back to stock and reflashing etc...

Totally fine on .1 and .2
Hi Friends, Is there anyway to toggle the SwipetoWake feature of kernel using tasker or any other automation apps. I need this feature to disable those kernel features during night. Right now using Hells doctor kernel(http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/168121-kernel-hells-doctor-r12) and SlimKat.
Thanks.
First make sure the kernel you have installed has SwipetoWake built into it. I personally use Trickster MOD and you can enable it under Specific

Anyone knows any app for effectively control frequencies and governors in lollipop n910c?
Thanks
I think as long as there is no modded kernel out there in space you're unlucky to take control over the stock one ...

It's not posible to manipulate minimum frequencies and governors in Stock kernel? I believed that it is.
Thanks mate
3c cpu manager can control a53 a57 cpu. Regards
Ok...but im pretty sure that your settings wont stick after reboot and voltage settings are not available, or?
Thats -for me- the main reason to install a tweaked kernel and a control app ?

Yes. After reboot settings are losed but is easy to reconfigure.
Voltage isn't available with this app, i think that is a kernel restriction related.
Lollipop deserves tweaked kernel yeah!
