I wonder if it is possible to perform a ROM port from galaxy nexus aokp on nexus10
If it`s should be possible and what are the steps to take and possible drawbacks
and if anyone could do it would be awesome since I'm a newbie but as myself would initiate this project
Thanks and sorry for my English translator

If you like AOKP so much, you could give CM10.1 a go. They are both built from AOSP with a few differences (i've heard AOKP is more customizable, but never tried it).
Why not just use the AOKP ROM built for the Nexus 10? I personally prefer the PUB builds. Try this:

Note, this is for the LTE model, GT-I9195. I compiled a build for someone who posted a request for it on RR Google+ site. I don't own the device, but it works OK according to him.

I have the Mega 6.3 which is similar in hardware to the mini.
The download link & md5 is given below. If users can confirm that it works OK, I can create a thread in the development forum.

Just want to say thanks for this its is the best ROM out of them all as i have tried them all for the S4 mini, One bug i hate on 4.4 is opening a message notification and it remaining there but i don't seem to have this problem on your ROM, I found the boot logo to be a tad to big but that's the only problem i have with it so far please support S4 Mini.

I always wanted PA on my phone now I've got it. Couldn't ask for anything more just waiting for the rest of the features to be added by PA.
Glad you are here with us!!! :good:
You got official PA
FYI...
Serranolte and Serrano3g have been added to aospa-legacy, meaning you will be getting official builds from now on and can use the OTA app to update.
https://github.com/AOSPA-legacy/android_vendor_pa/commit/99120361c36189be4170e202b2adfe9657671158
Downloads will be available at this link when they are ready. Serranoltexx and Serrano3gxx folders would show up when the build is ready.
Hey dude. I'm not sure if you got my PM, UC Browser does funny stuff sometimes so I will post this here.
Just woke up a couple of hours ago. Testing AOKP now, everything seems to be working fine. At first it appeared that Bluetooth didn't work. After a reboot and installing gapps it seemed to be working. Not sure if that was due to gapps or just the reboot. Other then that everything seems to be fine.
P.S. I also tried Mahdi, excellent ROM, can confirm Bluetooth is not working there either, plus the gallery app crashed from the get go until a reboot
Pure AOSP gives issues sometimes. Will take a look when I update. Thanks for testing. I'll create a new thread when I get feedback for the LTE version.

ha ?! strange ...
Pure AOSP (like Nexus roms ) are généraly more stable than CM roms ..."in théory" .
And it will be perfect for users who want the simplicity on parameters, a pure google experience (like stock ) ...and a good "clean" base ( without "frills" ) for eventualy to personalize oneself for some people .
And for some people who like Touchwiz :add very goods Samsung Touchwiz theme + launcher will be great ! ==> it fully replace stock rom!
It's sure that when stock KK will be released for S4 mini by Samsung, with the code-source ( scheduled in May 2014...according to the "good" rumors enought reliable ) ==> a pure AOSP build will be the best choise for our phone ( lighten, performance and stability ) ....with a very good Customised Kernel for better phone ( a strong battery save ,without decreasing performance )
As far as i'm concerned ,i personaly wait this way for the future of my phone !
Otherwise ,there are stable CM11 ... but cyanogenmod have done many additional features on her rom .
Has anyone tried to port factory images of Nexus 5 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 or Android L Preview to i9506? It would be a great try. I think the devs can possibly do it. Even I'm trying to do it but don't know where to start from
First thing, the kernel.
Second one, the ROM itself...
It's a mess when even CM doesn't know ks01lte or ks01ltexx device.
You must try to merge existing repos onto your sources...
Well, I think LOL

Well I'm still a noob, but I think it could be done, because both Nexus 5 and i9506 are nearly identical in terms of hardware except in a few areas. So if we can have Android L ports to One M7 and S4 i9505, then the port for i9506, if happens, will be quite more functional than those
sorry to desapoint you, but in hardware they are very diferent

Hmmm......thanks for the info, but is there a chance to port the ROMs? Leave Android L, can't we at least have 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 with stock vanilla in our beloved device
you already have cyogen 4.4.4

Indeed, and I'm thankful to arter97 and solk2..........but only one fully functional custom ROM isn't a deal breaker..........we need to support our device's development if no one else does, isn't it? At least some more efforts
How many roms can you run it at once on your device? 2 aosp roms isnt enough?? I would prefer a custom stock firmware, but there is any developer for this. That is the downside of this model of s4. The standard s4 i9505 has a lot of custom roms.
I Think its a great idea.
As someone told me before... Android L is for "Later".
This and the first modification I will do on my phone
and wanted your opinions!
I am in doubt which to install!
Omega

Thank you ^^
I will try the CM
speak very highly of it and what it looks like is that it has better performance and less bugs
Dude, ideally you dont need to ask people about best custom roms here. every dev deserves our respect for the time and effort they are putting for us. Still i can recommend Omega being a stable and noob-proof rom. the other good looking rom that i have tried and found excellent is:-

I would say Google edition based rom, the one by dan is the best I tried.
GE= stability of a tw rom+performance of the aosp roms
Best of both worlds..
Hey all,
i bought an S4 i9500 like 1 month ago..it said android kk on box but it has L installed(weird thing)
im just wondering..what is best for performance, heat, daily use for our phone?
KK or L (i know MM is out there but it is just a baby for our phone)
the thing is, with L it is nice but heats a lot on heavy task...don't know about Kk on this phone..never use it :/
i know L is really good looking( CM not fking touchwiz) but maybe KK is lighter and faster
pls let me know your opinions
btw KK have memory leak?
I don't know if KK is really faster than LP, but MM sure is faster.
Hi, in my opinion, JDCTeam AOSP 5.1.1 is the best one.
