ROM Question - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I posted earlier regarding the Bluetooth issue with my nexus 7 (turning off and on constantly) you think flashing back to the paranoid android 4.2.1 (Feb09) build would be alright and I would be ok to do so without performing a full wipe?

No mods what I know of, but search "Volume booster" or something similar in Google Play Store and you might get some results.

Has anyone loaded this on yet? On mine it looks like the GPS does not work. Can anyone confirm?
Well I flashed it this morning with stock kernel and it ran fine and I loved it. It's also my first custom ROM I've done since I bought my nexus 7. But I'm a stock bland kinda guy. So I restored nand. It would almost complete with stock except for the occasional chinese characters like when installing apps.

Oh and you gotta search for specific gapps to flash. Any old gapps would not work well. What I've heard from a YouTuber.

Damn the first start up was a pia with the default language being Chinese and the keyboard being pinyin... So far seems pretty cool. No themes is kinda a bummer

I ran this with the Elemental Kernel with no issues at all.

Yeah I don't like that keyboard too. But here's the official stock one: https://app.box.com/s/jh3gr5yos6bo99p02vur
Just install it like normal and choose it instead of pinyin.

I tested it on my flo. It's interesting. I'll give it another whirl later on after it's been tested a bit longer.

I need an expert!!

So my phone was rooted and I thought it was a good idea to factor reset my phone to get the new KK update. Once I factor reseted, i forgot to change my soft keys back to the original stock one, and when i try to to press on system updates its says i need a motorola service account and when i click set up it does not load. Is there a way to just upload KK the whole file into my phone
This is ironic! I just posted about the same thing a minute ago. There might be a problem with motorolas servers if I'm not the only one this is happening to

yeah haha i just saw yours too, do you know if my different softkey styled buttons will affected the update?

OTA's are extremely sensitive. It might but I won't hurt to try. If the update fails just SBF to 9.30.1 and it will take care of your problem
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you couldn't tell already I am a n00b haha, do you have instructions to do that?
Well that's I no brainer! You said your rooted. Your gonna have to SBF no doubt about it.

Its fine were all a noob at one point! I don't have time to really explain this, look at the KitKat threads in general and there is a pretty good guide that involves deleting a line of code that gives problems. Any other questions just pm me! I'm glad to help
