Hi
I have been searching Google but with no real success.
The problem I'm having is that I don't get a phone signal in my house, and I am starting my own business which will involve phoning a fair few mobile numbers.
Can anyone recommend a good SIP provider in the UK that has a package including mobile calls that integrates well with the Nexus 4?
Any help would be massively appreciated

Have you searched the general thread section? I don't use SIP but I know it's discussed in the general section for this phone.

Yeah, I looked there too but all results seem to discuss SIP/VOIP in US. If anybody can help with UK setup, especially with bundled mobile minutes it would be a great help!

I've seen a lot of apps that will send your phone text to a tablet but it seems like none are compatible yet anyone know of any that are yet ?

Tablet talk works great.

I use "What's App." Works great across different platforms (and especially for international texts - no fees!). It's like an instant messaging service, but it piggybacks your cell network if you're tethering.
EDIT: sorry, I forgot to mention that it only works if the other person has What's App, too.
I use Google voice, only thing that you don't get are the picture msgs.

Try HeyWire Link ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5tZWRpYWZyaWVuZHMuY2hpbWUiXQ.. ) in google play it is free and it works. Takes a few min's to setup and a little thinking because of the way the help files are, well there english is not to good lets put it that way. But it works very well. Hope that helps
Yes, I also use the fantastic product: 'Tablet Talk'
Rob has sent this from his Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I just use Google Voice which is linked to my Sprint account. Only downside is that you can't receive MMS.
+1 for tablet talk, it works great I just hope for more theme/customizing options in the future.

Whoah, great thread. Thanks for sharing guys. Think I'll try Tablet Talk on my Nexus 7!
Another +1 for Tablet Talk. It gets the job done.

im slow, can i use my existing phone number?
Yes. Tablet talk syncs to your phone via WiFi or Bluetooth..so technically its using your cell service as an "extension" to your cell phone. I love it.

Google Voice, however like someone mentioned they haven't incorporated MMS into it yet.
Will try Tablet Talk tho.
I've used Tablet Talk for a couple weeks now and it hasn't really worked for me. I'm thinking that it's probably because of my phone. Does anyone else have a Galaxy S II/N7 pairing that works?

Be a bit more specific For example..are you using a 3rd party SMS program such as GoSms or Handicent? If so..read the FAQ for tablet talk.
Whats the issue that you're having?
Seriously amazed by tablet talk, my galaxy s3,suffered the sudden death syndrome, so was in a fickle, bought a cheap Huawei blaze and it's tethered to my phone and having to use tablet talk for texts and calls is amazing. Those using tablet talk for Blue tooth calling how clear is it.

If I'm not mistaken, In tablet talk you have to be connected by blue tooth or on the SAME wifi. An app called CLOUD SMS doesn't require that you be on the same wifi, I can receive text on my n7 even if I'm connected to wifi and my phone is not.

USB teher- doesn't function at all. No data ever transferred
Wifi- connects but doesn't transfer any data like USB
Bt- works but, data is slow ~20KB/sec
This is disappointing since I got MB regularly on my g1 despite the older radio... I'm going you guys have done experience with jelly bean and tethering.

Same here. I have problems with WiFi tethering using the stock option. I didn't try apps cause, last time I tried them (other android), they killed the battery.
Not a fan of Bluetooth, I expect it to have a bandwidth limitation, which would answer your question.
But we both share the need for wifi-based help
So I'd love some help too
TIA

Now BT tether has reached 170KB/sec which seems like the max. Though I would prefer at least 1MB.

Hello Everyone, I just bought my Nexus 7 about a week ago. I was wondering what kind of apps programs would greatly benefit the Nexus 7. What kind of apps to you guys suggest to use? Are there any apps that you guys find vital to the nexus 7? Also I am running android 4.2.1 and the camera asp that gives me the stock camera back isn't working too efficiently (nexus 7 camera fix app from play store) I get a lot of lag from this. Anyone know why? PS I haven't rooted it yet.

People are not replying because the answer to all your questions can be found right here in the n7 forums. They have all been covered extensively, and if you searched for them, you would already be fixed up. Waiting for people to answer them for you will actually take much, much longer than just searching and reading. Not trying to be rude, but everyday, there are two more post with the exact same questions, and none of them take the time to read the other.

Hi all
I'm having trouble with the adult content filtering on Three. I've turned it off with them over the phone and as far as they can see it shouldn't be operating anymore and yet if I go to something like thechive.com I'm still getting blocked and given the adult content message. Anyone got any ideas what I, or they, might be missing?
Thanks!

try to use hidemyass.com
That site loads for me and I have Three's adult filter set to ON.
So if your having trouble your not being blocked by Three.
My mom setup blocks on T-Mobile, but it was my account, so I know the password, so I turned them off. And the problem solved

I had the same problem with Verizon here in the states, adult content worked fine over wifi but not on Verizon's mobile data even though I had all the filtering turned off. I tried all the different browsers, a proxy server and nothing solved the problem for me. I don't have the problem now that I am on Straight Talk AT&T so it was definitely on Verizon's end.
I have a nexus 7 2012 WiFi only and a 2013 lte. The first gen and my HTC one model sign into my work WiFi just fine. The 2013 lte model does not want to connect through the internet login portal.
All software is unmodified and completely stock without root on all devices. Both nexus 7s are running kit Kat. The lte model has a tmobile SIM. I've also tried to remove the SIM and connect... Still no good
Any solutions? Anyone here of something like this happening ?

Since the problem is with the 2013 model, you would be better helped by posting in the correct device forum. They will be more familiar and better suited to help with your issue. For instance, if it is a known issue with that particular device, most here would most likely not know about it.
