So I set here with my Nexus 4 in hand with no signal at all.
I've swapped my SIM between my Nexus and Sensation, and the sensation pulls 4-5 bars no problem. I switched it back to the Nexus and initially all seemed well but now it's nothing again. Are there any issues with the Radio that may cause this? Anyone else getting the same.
I am Stock Rom and it has been like it since this morning. This afternoon I have unlocked and rooted, but that is all. Still no signal.
BTW I updated OTA to 4.2.2 at the weekend and all was fine until this morning.

Exact same problem here except with Straight Talk using ATT SIM, stock ROM, no root.

My DX seems to be dropping signal from 3G to 1X constantly. I'll go from full bars on 3g to 1 bar on 1X? I did the *228 option 2, I update my PRL often.
I'm still on stock 2.2.1 w/ root. Does anyone know what could be causing this. I've had this problem since I bought it in November.
Thanks.
I've had similar issues for a couple months now. Verizon tells me they are upgrading the Alltel towers here (east central Ohio). Every time I ask them about it they tell me it should be ironed out by the end of the week or some time the following week.

Also have this problem from time to time, but I'm on Fission 2.4.3. No idea what's causing it, but I may SBF and take it back to Verizon.
Yeah mine does this as well. Only fix I know of is to turn airplane on and wait a sec and turn it off and poof, 3G again.
I don't think it has anything to do with upgrading their towers though, it's likely to get you out of the store and to save them time from giving you a replacement. I can only think it's something with the antenna in the phone.
the update was supposed to also update the radio portion of the phone. Did you get the update?
The baseband I have BP_C_01.09.07P This may vary by geographic area.
I had this issue when on the stock ROM, but it has not happened in the weeks since going to the 320 leak and now to the 340 OTA.

Ever since I flashed the latest (un)official 4.0.4 deodexed/rooted leak along with the new radio I've been having a hard time keeping a data coverage. It keeps switching to 1x Edge coverage or losing signal period. Its particularly obvious in areas(like at work) where I usually have 4 bars of 3g. The only fix I've found is to switch to airplane mode and then back, or to reboot the phone. Is anyone else having problems like this with either the official OTA or the (un)official rooted leak?

Sprint issues maybe?

I had issues earlier when I first flashed the radio.
I tried doing a profile/prl reset/update and everything seems back to normal now.
I tried prl and profile and it worked for an hour or so... Its been like that since the day the rom was leaked. An hour ago I wiped my cache and dalvik cache and flashed the new air kernel and so far so good Maybe I just had something goofy in my cache? I'll check back tomorrow, maybe it was just operator error somewhere along the way

I had the exact same issues
What helped me? Fastboot flashing previous radio. I guess it's coverage in my area? But I took the leaked ROM plus radio and flashed all the img's through fastboot and after a day or so I would get stuck in 1x. Like you, I usually got 3G.
I'm on the previous radio now and the problem went away

On thursday and friday i had no data at my desk at work, today i'm fine. I didn't change anything, didn't even wipe cache. Pretty sure it's sprint.
Also, if I left my desk and walked two streets over, it worked great.
Before 4.0.4 I think there was a hack on stock GB roms that the phone wouldn't show when it entered 1x. It was pretty obvious with the slowdown, but the indicator never showed it. With 4.0.4 I believe that hack is now gone and it really does show 1x vs 3G in the situations it's happening in.
This is happening to me. I have tried all of the radios. My wife's evo 3d has full 3g right next to my phone.
I have full wiped reflashed and tried all the radios.
Nothing seems to work.

Anybody get this fixed? I'm still in and out of 1x.

If you know your MSL, you might try dialing *#*#72786#*#* for a fresh activation. It's helped me in the past after flashing radios.
Tried everything. Finally took the phone to sprint. They said it there was a problem. Paid $35 for a replacement.

New phone, everything was good now no cell signal at all. I was rooted w/ CM and cell signal went completely away almost like the SIM card is bad. SIM is 2 days old and was cut at the TMO store. I went back to stock JB Occam firmware and that did not help. The kicker, Sim works in my GNex w/ adapter so could be contacts in the G$? Anyone else have similar issue.
On my HTC rezound I get low signal and my 3g cuts out a lot toggling airplane mode does nothing and I'm using cm9 also cm9 messed up my Bluetooth. I'm trying to fix these issues but I've had no luck.

I was hoping the tower nearby went down and that it would function when I got to work. Still doesn't work on the N4, works on the Gnex. Looks like it's going back to the Google Ship.
I'm not sure if this is covered anywhere. It's not a huge deal, but it is a little slower. My phone never goes into H+ with .48 radios on 4.2.2. All else is fine, but is this a common thing?
Also, I can still see the LTE option, isn't that supposed to be gone?
I'm on T-Mobile, if that matters.

I thought it wasn't only me! It happened to me today. The data was so slow!

Ah, okay. As far as H+ being dropped, hopefully I'm not the only one. Maybe there's some APN settings I can put in to hopefully change that as signal drops seem far less often so far.
Edit-
Freaking 5 minute limit. Sucks that I was inactive for so long with this account -.-
Glad I'm not the only one!
I'm getting about half the speed with H as I got with H+. I'll leave it like this for another day or so probably to see signal in other areas(Mostly work, where signal dropped every few minutes before), but if I decide to switch back to .33 radios, will there be any issues?
The 4.2.2 update didn't exactly break H+ for me, but I am definitely experiencing data "stalls" I guess you could say. Randomly when browsing the web, or doing anything using data it'll just stall... Sometimes for up to 30 seconds. I did experience the same with 4.2.1 but it now seems more noticeable (could be placebo). I have no problem with signal and get great data speeds when it is working right. I always have full bars while at home since I live about 200 yards from a T-Mobile tower. Kind of annoying tho.

I noticed the data stalls twice so far, Once during a speed test and another while looking around in the playstore. It showed was connected but the arrows disappeared and nothing was going on.
Is this just stock ROM's or something?
I'm on a custom 4.2.2 ROM (Xylon and was on CM10.1) and .48 radio, H+ is working for me.
Your APN settings are correct?
A stock rooted 4.2.2. Figured I'd give it a try before I flash ParanoidAndroid. I was on Xylon 4.2.1 before I went to 4.2.2, but I figured I'd give stock a try. And as far as I can tell, yes. APN settings are right.
I tried flashing back to .33 radios, no luck. Maybe I'm missing something in the APN, or it's ROM specific.
Bought my mom a Nexus 4 from the Play Store to replace her Galaxy Blaze (piece of ****) and it loses signal constantly at her house and at work. Just looking for some advice on what to do, as I'm not fairly sure it's a hardware problem.
From what I've seen the phone works perfectly fine and has service everywhere else with good coverage. My mom's house and work never had great coverage (always 0/1/2 bars with Blaze and S2) but she had Wi-Fi for internet and calling/texting always worked; they never lost service completely. Does the Nexus 4 have a lower strength antenna? We got her a new SIM card from T-Mobile and I had done the update to 4.3 while it was on Wi-Fi before we tested it at all.
At this point, I'm not sure whether to root and install different radios and void the warranty, or if it shouldn't be having these issues at all.
Thanks for any advice!
Need a little more info, what region are you located in? How long has this been happening, is it persistent or off and on? I've had similar issues lately in Houston TX. I'm here to help if you need it.

Please review this article http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/08/26/bug-watch-android-4-3-radio-bugs-causing-cell-connection-drops-on-some-nexus-4-handsets-fixes-in-sight/ from Android Police for your problem. It's a bug with version 4.3.
BTW, I just bought a Nexus 4 from swappa and I am also with T-Mobile and currently using Galaxy S Blaze What a coincidence!!!

Ok thanks taodan! That actually sounds like what it could be. I'll see how 4.2.2 works before I jump to any other conclusions.
Hopefully you got a good price since Google just lowered it to $199/$249 on the Play Store. Their price protection is getting us $100 back even though we got it a couple days before price change.
I had the same issue with the 4.3 radio, flashing the 4.2.2 radio has alleviated my problems.

Couple days late but for anyone having this specific issue, the 4.2.2 radio has solved all problems!
