What bugs?
Screen flickering ,random lags when accessing settings or apps.

I've seen none of those problems at all. No screen flickering, no lag, nothing.

Got a source for the upcoming update?
U must be the lucky one, I been searching and seems many have this problems. Do u use the Google services like all the sync features??? What about drive?

Chrome seems laggier than it should be, hope there is some issue there than can be fixed to improve performance.
Every Nexus 7 I've had so far (that'd be 4) have all had washed out looking greens and yellows and over saturated whites. Hoping that is something a patch can fix.
Tegra 3's Prism smart dimmer feature causes the screen to look over exposed while and after videos play (fades away after a few seconds). I've disabled the smart dimmer, so it's okay for me, but seems like an issue that needs a patch.
I have seen nothing in JB 4.1.1 that would require an update at this point.
Might as well expect an update for dark pixels.

Screen flickering is a known hardware issue
Mine lags bad from time to time. I wonder if it has to do with google now because my galaxy nexus lags just as bad if not worse when i tap the google now search bar. I was trying to find and app (shazam) and thought it would be faster to look for it through now, but it lagged and lagged and lagged. By the time I got the app open, the song was over and I couldn't tag it.
My Gnexus is great, fast ,no complains at all,Google now is quick I got no lag, but on the nexus 7 it becomes a problem to the point that I have to switch it off and use the browser.

I use dropbox which is pretty much the same in terms of resources. I have play movies, music, currents, books. I have pandora on there, google now, generally everything you could need. I've done this on both stock 4.1.1 and on Paranoid Android (every iteration). Literally NO lag. Even being slightly underclocked.

Nope, it's from a poorly soldered wifi chip, that is drawing power away from the screen when wifi is low.
I had this issue, and called Google personally for support, and the person confirmed that the screen flickering was hardware, not software.

That's what I thought he meant, but I think he means 4.1.2 to fix any bugs (that I haven't noticed) in 4.1.1

Never had any of that so I doubt its a "software issue". If it is its likely something you installed.
quick update about the lag on the nexus7:
i used Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2 to root and install recovery about 4 times ,and in all this times i had problems with lag ,so two days ago i decided to restart again and root the n7 with Galaxy Nexus ToolKit v2.0 but without installing the custom recovery.
now it very quick and as no lag at all,and yes i loaded the identical apps all the previous time.
ideas???

I think most of the lag is because of a bad app or a setting somewhere. Glad to hear you got it sorted out. I'm just looking forward to the update that fixes the bootloader issues with accessing recovery without the usb cable or using terminal commands/adb/apps.
Can I know how many updates have you gotten out of the box and do you know what each update are?

What a weird question
I got one, from 4.2 to 4.2.1 which fixed the calendar bug..
I think you may get it delivered with 4.2.1 since it's available for a while ^^

Hi,
thanks for the reply. I'm asking this weird question because I've got 2 updates out of the box which I found weird and I did not keep track of the versions before the updates. According to my knowledge there's only the 4.2.1 update to fix the calendar problem. Could it be regional problem? I got mine from Malaysia.

I don't know exactly what was preinstalled on my N7, because I got first OTA update the moment I turned it on, and it got updated to 4.1.2
Then I got OTA 4.2, and later on 4.2.1
So I guess it came with 4.1?
All together 3 updates so far. (I got mine in November, few days after 32GB was released).
I guess you just got one of the older ones, it doesn't really matter how many times it got updated.

Hmmm, maybe it was 2× the 4.2.1 update.. That's what happened to me, got the 4.2.1 notification, updated, it rebooted (with everything normal, so no error message or whatever, it "installed" the update like normal), but was still 4.2 and reloaded the 4.2.1update

issak42 - I got mine last week. Yours is the 3G version too? I always thought 3G version came with 4.2 but I might be wrong.
fushla - Thanks for the info. I think mine was a similar case to yours. After my first "update" I did check and it was 4.2. And I am pretty sure it's already 4.2 prior the first update as I was able to rotate my home screen which, to my knowledge, is a feature of 4.2.

Hey all,
As the title says: I'm having random reboots while using the camera. First it freezes for about 3 seconds and then hot boots into the Nexus logo. It happened 3 times over the past month so it isn't bad, but still not as it should. I'm on unrooted stock.
Any experiences/tips?

He's not rooted so it's some issue with the stock firmware. TC you can try factory reset.

Yes I see I failed to read the last sentence haha. I would also recommend a factory reset.

I also thought that would be the eventual outcome, but I'm really not into that . I guess I can live with it then and I will unlock my bootloader when I get sick of stock so things will be alright .

Same problem at some devices at a hungarian forum. Mine does it some time. We are afraid of hardware problem.
Edit - just noticed the date on the OP ...
Have you tried re-flashing the stock ROM? It would be worth a try.

I had this problem on a DHD. Althought this is not a dhd the problem might be the same.
That was battery related. When i changed the bad battery, my problems went away.
Usually if your phone reboots during camera shots, it means the battery is borked. RMA it man.
Is it confirmed battery related?

Who knows... I got it as well, I notice it happens while focusing with flash and/or taking photos with flash for long time then it got reboot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46312752) got it on stock camera app, with camera 360 tried the same situation and no reboot at all...
Maybe the flash warm the cpu or something which cause the reset...my battery temperature seems fine as I monitoring it.

Hi, Do you have a custom recovery installed? Reason Im asking is because I have difficulties to reproduce the problem after flashing a 4.3 factory image.
Edit: Im not sure what kind of impact a custom recovery could have. I have reproduced the issue on cm 10.1.3, Cm 10.2 and a stock rom flashed via cwm. But as I said, I have problems to reproduce it after flashing 4.3 factory image.

No mate, I'm on stock clean (without root/open bootloader) as it comes from google play 4.2.2 (I even didn't update to 4.3 just to check the stability of this version).
Now I got it again, I can confirm its nothing to do with 'heat' or anything about hot cpu...the device was cold. At this time also wifi was off so if someone had a thought...its nothing to do with it.
Seems its some bug with the stock camera app and/or gallery app... Shots only 2 photos with flash, take a look at the gallery and it got freeze and reboot.
Maybe the option to move from gallery to camera with only swiping...donno... Anyway its happening only when flash on so its weird....
Do you got this reboot only with macro flash photos or any type of flash photos?
Again, tried camera360 with more flash shots at macro and seems works without any problems , also Ive found it more accurate then stock one, eventough I like the stock app.
Has anyone found the problem cause I'm also having this same problem. Its happened three times, two of the times it was when focusing with flash. The phone just froze and rebooted. I did notice that before it rebooted I heard the camera aperture shutter a few time really quick and the the phone rebooted. The other time it was when I went from camera to gallery and zoomed in on the picture I had just taken.
I maybe thought it was the ROM problem but to hear you say its happened to you on stock ROM and not rooted my not sure what it is. If it matters I was on AOKP 4.2.2 and cm10.1.2 ,cm10.13.

My Nexus 10 has started running like a slug at times. Rebooting does not help. Last night I upgraded to 4.3 and it still seems to be an issue. This device is stock.
Any suggestions?

It worked fine up until last week. Then it would go through spells of slugginess. I would reboot, and it would seem fine for about 10 minutes and get sluggy again. I figured it was an app action up and I was going to set it on born on date and start all over. I put the 4.3 on it thinking that might help, but it still had issues. The next day, all was fine. It has only been two days of working fine, so who knows, but i am happy again.
Looking at some posts in this thread, I will assume that you are not happy with yours and have been very vocal about it.
What are your issues?

Ive been browsing through the various note 8 topics and im seeing lots of problems being reported about 4.2.2. Things like Spen inaccuracy, smart dock not working after update, multiwindow problems etc.
Ive just rooted my note on 4.1.2 and i find my note to be quick and reliable, im just thinking is it really worth unrooting my perfectly working note 8 to update and get what seems a worse experience, then have to reroot it seems like alot of faffing about for no real improvement.
What are the new additions in 4.2 that make it worth while? (i have no use for multiuser).

There's also issues with the screen freezing every so often... Well, not really freezing but more like it doesn't recognize touch inputs for 1-3 seconds.
I'd recommend sticking with 4.1.2 til they can fix everything.

If you are happy with your Note then I would suggest staying where you are for now.
Especially if you use the Multimedia Dock. I believe the Spen issue has been or is being corrected in the custom ROMS however Stock ROMS are waiting for an official update.
For me personally, I decided to jump to 4.2.2 since I do not use the Spen and the UI improvements are noticeable enough that I found it hard to go back to 4.1.2 once I got used to them. The Music widget on the lock screen is my most favorite new feature.
Rooting 4.2.2 is exactly the same as 4.1.2 it takes only a minute or two. Good Luck on your decision.
