I have an LG E900 WP7 phone (Orange UK) and have recently updated to firmware 8773, all went well and didn't get no errors but when i try to create a new txt message it goes to open then kicks me back to the main menu. (strange i know) this also happens when i try to go to Settings --> About and also when i try to use my Wifi
Has anyone come across this before ?

P.S does anyone have the firmware after 8773 ?
This happens to my phone now and then too. Restarting it does the trick for me.

Hey.
I updated my LG Gt540 to Eclair 2.1 and I am really happy that I´ve done that.
As I wanted to use the internet (no WiFi, i think its called GPRS) it doesn´t work.
My question is, why is it so? Can I bring it back to work?

go to network settings and select your 3g network provider manually.
if that doesn't solve it, you'll need to flash another rom. I don't have internet on the baltic rom, but no problems with the open europe one. have no idea why that is...

Can I check my APN with APNonoff or another app?
Ehm. I don´t know if network is the right word for my problem. So in german its something with the internet. So the Internet (no WiFi, WiFi works well ) does´t work.

O.K. I have a Problem!
As I wanted to update to an open European rom, the OS seems to be a bit broken.
Evertime I did anything a small little Windows Pops up, that the OS ist broken.
What do I have to do?
As I boot the Phone again it stops with the "LG"-Logo. How can I do an downgrade or Update or anything else, so that the Phone works again?

After flashing camera aplication hangs up and back to main menu.

Ad1. I'm just ending flashing again my phone. And this time i used Open Europe ROM, and still cannot use camera. When i push a cam button or choose a camera aplication, program start up and back to main menu. I'm very very angry and I have no ideas haw to ..... I think that I say sorry ma HTC Desire with Android 2.2 and LG will go to trashcan
I close thread. I did it. Thanx a the.rider1290. I was flashed again polish rom and did factory rest from MFG. And now, camera works perfectly.
I am happy you found the solution. Sometimes the firmware and the hardware may not match.
Yeah I know but is one thing what is very important. I unpluged battery for a few minutes. After this I did factory reset in MFG.
But right know i'm "fighting" with ****in MMS. It dosn't work without Internet conection by EDGE or 3G. When I'm choicing in MFG Set network profiles, MFG shut down and phone goes back to Main Menu in WP7. I'm very pissing off :[
Got exactly the same camera problem after flashing my optimus using DZ_LG-E900AT-00-V10b-202-XXX-NOV-09-2010+0 rom.
How did you find out which is the right version for yours? I'm lost.
I'm from Poland. My firmware is ROM: DZ_LG-E900AT-00-V10b-260-XXX-NOV-09-2010+0. The number: 260 in firmware name means it is polish firmware (not exactly polish, Eastern Europe firmware with polish language support). I have to use this one cause I will not able to upgrade to full polish version in future. You should find your national version or use Open Europe ROM, but this one dosn't work with my phone.
Try remove battery for a few minutes. It works for me.
Everything ok! I did remove the battery for a few minutes and the problem is now gone ;-)

all seems work fine(BOOT,gps,sound,wifi...)
BUT A STRANGE ISSUE REGARDING THE CALLS RECEIVING AND DOING CALLS TO EXTERIOR...
ANDROID PROCESS STUCKS AND STOP RUNNING...
I GOT TO TAKE MY BATTERY OF TO UNLOCK THE PHONE...
CAN ANYONE HELP ME??

problem resolve with a cyanogen stable version + clockwood recovery
i have decided to instal another room...
the Cyanogen 7.1.0.1 and clockwood recovery tooll...
and my problem of the calls is partialy solved....
i am now abled to do and receive calls...
but a new issues as apear lolll
i am using a Sim (TMN portuguese operator) in Roaming mode... and i need to use a USSd code

(that woorks fine with regular phone)
to receive an message from my operator about my phone credit...
and with this rom, i get
"mmi code invalid"
also another strange issues is:
to know my phone credit i can also call
12044
(usualy in a regular phone, i listen my phone credit by voice)
but with cyanofenmod 7.1.0.1 the call hangs and ends after a couple of seconds...
(i know it is not an issue of mobile network contracts, cause use the same procedure in a regular phone ant it woorks, i get my phone credit either by message or voice)
does anyone got same issues, or problem???

hi peeps, this is my 2nd phone i messed up this week lol, thought i would plug the phone in to laptop and see if there was any official updates for it as it was on 2.1 and ive never tried to root this phone (yet) any way said there was an update so i started it going and it lost connection and crashed so searched for hours on the net how to get the phone back up and running after it bricked and downloaded kdz update software, had trouble to get it to flash phone but it did it and i thought every thing worked again till i noticed that the phones signal is full and shows my network provider but i cant make any calls out and cant receive any same with text messaging but and this is strange i can use the internet on it and i dont mean connecting through wifi, ive tried to re flash it through kdz updater and keep getting this launching SW update, unpacking KDZ, KDZ file extraced, extract file error ===FINISHED===
so i have no idea why its doing that worked before, also get problems some times with keeping the phone connected to laptop and installed windows 7 drivers and disabled the phones modem driver
i have also phoned my network and asked them if theres a problem and they tried to phone the phone and couldnt work out the problem as the imei is not blocked and is still present on the phone which hasnt been changed by flashing it so have no clue whats wrong. if any body has an idea please get in touch

just wondering if i have locked phone to another network with messing about with it as the imei is showing as unblocked by network provider ?

try a full wipe ( factory reset)
go to settings > security > factory reset

the phone was an unlocked carphone warehouse phone running on o2 network in the uk, unable to return phone as warrenty ran out etc, many people have had problems with the lg update and bricked phone like i did after it failed half way through it but i used kdz updater to get it up and running again but having problem with it making and reciving calls and texts but it is able to use internet through o2 network. i have got a few kdz files to try re flashing it with them but kdz updater starts to extract file then gives an error now but didnt before, saying that my laptop needs a clean out as well full of crap from messing with phones

I've noticed something strange this past month. I was getting data disconnections and I could'nt figure out why. Each time I look at my phone, turning the screen on, mobile network (voice + data) is missing for a few seconds, and comes back.
Now I know that if I keep the screen on for a while (I tried more thant 1 hour), I don't loose the network, but if let the screen go to sleep I immediately loose the network (I don't receive whatsapp messages in background), and when I turn the screen on, it comes back.
Weirdly, when my phone could reach 4G, I had (almost) no disconnection. It only happens in a 3G, edge, or nodata zone.
I changed my carrier (I just moved from europe to New Zealand), and it doen't change the problem.
I'm using CM11-Nightly (sept) on a I9505. I tried installing an old nightly(from july), and it was really full of error messages, so I switched back to a recent nightly, but in the meantime I had no disconnection.

I don't know exactly where this option is, but it's for battery saving. You can choose that somewhere in your settings I think
I think that's true for Wi-Fi, but I never found it for network.
And now it seems that network won't come back if I don't go to airplane mode and back to normal mode.
I'm having the same problem, seems to mostly affect lollipop installs.

No I didn't. It seems that somewhere in july 2014, CM11 included a new version of the modem. So every CM11 build after that and every CM12 build is affected (I don't know about other roms).
I read that it was the way the modem handled finding the best network method. With the previous modem (v5 ?) it tried to get LTE, 3G, etc... but now it fails when it fails to get the prefered network.
4 solutions:
- flash the modem (didn't try it, don't know how)
- You're supposed to be able to choose you're prefered network in the options and choose 2G/edge. Didn't work for me but I'm interested in your feedback.
- get an old version of CM11
- live with it (my current option :'( )
There is maybe another solution, I'm not an expert, just a desperate user.
Hey again, I did fix it for myself.
The modem is the problem (I flashed my modem, and my bootloader just to be re-up-to-date).
If you want to get lollipop for yourself you should do it, its not too hard

I don't mind trying to give some pointers if you need help understanding how to do it, but I did this at 5am while sick so my memory of what I did is not 100%, never the less I would like to help if you need it.

How did you choose which modem version to pick up ? the latest ? Do you have to do it after every CM upgrade ?

And what does flashing the bootloader do ?
"What it does"... I am not 100%, I assume it initialize some part of the system, HW or kernel level, but I might be way off.
In any case I did use the dual modem pack to flash both "PHONE" and "PDA", another thread I asked in just replied to another user with the neccessity to flash the new bootloader aswell (dont know if the version numbers applies for you):
u must be using a 4.4.2 baseband and bootloader .. just a 4.4.2 baseband will not work .. once updated ur set

Tip: I had to save the PIT to a file (did it twice to be sure) with heimdall before using odin to flash (couldn't get heimdall to work for that part), all because odin would not play nice inbetween loading the PIT from device and flashing, this might not be a problem for you at all so it's just an FYI.
I managed to flash the modem & the bootloader. So far, no disconnection, so I'm quite happy.
