Locating a replacement earpiece - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My wifes earpiece has stopped working on her Defy XT555c. It FUNCTIONS, but is a fraction of the volume. Does anyone know where new parts can be had?

Is anyone having this problem?

When I put someone on speaker it sounds very soft. The speaker button is activated but the sound is going through the phone not through the actual speaker. I have to hang up with the person and call them back just to get the speaker to work.

I might have a defective speaker. What should I do now since I'm rooted and want to take this phone to my local sprint store for repair? I have soo many apps installed on my phone.

I installed blazers 1.4 Rom and everything works like a charm including the speaker. I guess it was an app that was causing my problem.

on stock rooted with zero problems
Odin back to stock and return it. If they say anything tell them it wasn't booting and Samsung tried to troubleshoot you and had you restore and reset a bunch. I don't they'll even care or ask.

How do i send speaker output to mic

I was wondering if there's an app that will send whatever is going through my speakers to my mic so the person on the other end of the call or Skype can hear it.

Speakers

Are both of the vents on the bottom of the phone speakers? I only get sound out of the one on the right.
They are both speakers although they are VERY quiet in my opinion..but if you're rooted there's a thread on how to make them louder.

I'm not concerned about the volume so much, but when I place my thumb of over the left vent there is no change in the sound and when I place my thumb over the right vent the sound is noticeably muted.
Just wondering if I should take it back and get a new one.

Only the one on the right is a speaker. The other is a mic. For gaming you would block that speaker part.
Like said above only one is the speaker.
Thanks for the info. I couldn't seem to find much info on it elsewhere.

Only one of them is a speaker, the other is a mic.

Speakers problem?

Hello everyone. I've been a proud user of G2 for a month now. And I just noticed that only one of the speakers on the bottom is working. Is there a problem with my phone?

The left is the mic, right is the single mono speaker. No worries!
Thanks for the answer. Got worried there for a moment. I'm used to a single small hole as a mic.

Mic Volume

Any way to increase the mic volume? Very hard to hear on Skype.

If your rooted then download and install Viper4Android. Check XDA for the apk and information. It blows away any other audio mod. It includes increasing the volume (gain) among many other controls.

I've had Viper since it came out. Best mod ever too! I didn't think you could adjust the mic volume though. I can hear them fine but they can't hardly hear me on their end. There's adjustments in a prop i can male but Iscrewed around to much and killed my sounds altogether and needed to reinstall the rom. I've got it working fine on my phone but it has headset properties that the tablets don't.

This is an example of the headphone adjustments I've made on my phone to increase the volume.
