Are both of the vents on the bottom of the phone speakers? I only get sound out of the one on the right.
They are both speakers although they are VERY quiet in my opinion..but if you're rooted there's a thread on how to make them louder.

I'm not concerned about the volume so much, but when I place my thumb of over the left vent there is no change in the sound and when I place my thumb over the right vent the sound is noticeably muted.
Just wondering if I should take it back and get a new one.

Only the one on the right is a speaker. The other is a mic. For gaming you would block that speaker part.
Like said above only one is the speaker.
Thanks for the info. I couldn't seem to find much info on it elsewhere.

Hello guys I have a quick question.. I have a problem with my speakers.. Phone and headphone jack... when I plug in my headphones the music starts and the beat sounds nice and the but I can't hear the voice.. It's always faded but the beat sounds fine.. Also the onboard speaker does the same but not as nearly as severe but a reboot fixes the onboard speaker and goes back to normal.. Is my headphone jack done for? Again the beat sounds fine but voice is non existent.. Is weird. Thanks in advance.

Do you an app that adjusts the sound? like an equalizer app or sound app? When i had a galaxy s3 if i had it in rock mode or anything other than stock the sound was not as clear as in stock mode.
A similar thing happened with my iPod Touch. It turned out to be the headphones. Maybe try some new ones? I am not sure of the onboard speaker problem however.

Yeah I tried my computer speakers and sound works but still sounded a bit funny.. Not enough to notice though.. I'll check a different pair of headphones when I can.. And yeah I did flash one of those sound mods from the nexus 4 apps section but I uninstalled it..

The G2 has two outputs sound down, only one is only giving sound!
Is that really so or is my phone is faulty? Algém can confirm this please?
If you put your finger over the outlet on the right side the phone is practically no sound!
Sorry for my English, google ...
The G2 has only one speaker on the bottom, the other is a mic. Just like the iPhone.

Hey guys, I received my new Note 3 today and it's absolutely amazing. I have a small issue with it, and that is the speaker, it's really loud. Even with the lowest volume possible it's sometimes feels too loud for me. Is there any way to set it to a bit lower volume? Help is appreciated.

Does anyone knows a "solution"?

Anyone else notice that the earpiece quality is very average? Voices aren't that trebly or clear and can cause vibrations. Have tried 'clearsound' and 'adapt', but doesn't make much difference.
Any tips to make voices sound crisper?

Does the S5 still have Adapt Sound, if so, I found that to grearly improve the earpiece quality on the S4

Might end up with an earpiece as the phone isn't comfortable on my ear for long periods either due to the slight raised edging.

Any way to increase the mic volume? Very hard to hear on Skype.

If your rooted then download and install Viper4Android. Check XDA for the apk and information. It blows away any other audio mod. It includes increasing the volume (gain) among many other controls.

I've had Viper since it came out. Best mod ever too! I didn't think you could adjust the mic volume though. I can hear them fine but they can't hardly hear me on their end. There's adjustments in a prop i can male but Iscrewed around to much and killed my sounds altogether and needed to reinstall the rom. I've got it working fine on my phone but it has headset properties that the tablets don't.

This is an example of the headphone adjustments I've made on my phone to increase the volume.
