Is anyone using a portable USB battery pack ?
I'm currently carrying a 1700mah unit made by Digipower
I purchased it years ago so its quite bulky
I was wondering if anyone is using something that they can recommend
Maybe as thin as the N4 with more power than 2000mah
Thanks

i just bought the anker astro3 10,000 mAh/ 3A dual-output model from amazon uk for £25.99. it's about ~10% larger and heavier than the N4.
will charge the N4 from flat 4x +.
also 2 devices simultaneously with different ports optimized for android and ios.

Anker slimtalk. 3200mAh
http://www.amazon.com/SlimTalk-Exte...qid=1360855855&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+slimtalk
Two things I love about it.
1. It's THIN
2. Has it's own cord that can be tucked away.

I have one with 3000mAh (5W) and another 5000mAh (7,5W)
I found that 5W charged my iPhone 4S well. But it charges a little slow no N4. So if you wanna buy one, get 7,5W or better.
I posted this in the "external battery pack thread," it seems like there are a few similar threads open now:

i bought a 2000mAh and i hardly had to perform any surgery on the battery to make it fit, a few shavings on the corners but otherwise nothing, and my back fits fine with the stock back

Really, I'd rather get one day out of mine than carry a phone that has a back look like that. It is just waaaay too bulky looking.
How did you get your hands on a DZ in Bulgaria? I have been waiting for this phone here forever!

Iffn it was me I'd use an old phone repurposed into a android media player. Our get a SanDisk Sansa Clip. I have a Clip, and I use my old Droid Charge as a media player.
I put my N7 in a fanny pack when I want it at the end of a hike/walk. But I have not tried running very far with it. Mine is more of a hiking pack, but there are packs aimed at runners, especially ultra-marathoners.
Current: Note 2 - Nexus 7 - Charge
Retired: Player 5.0 - Fascinate

Read twice, flash once
I don't recommend running with your nexus 7 because the larger screen is more likely to break if dropped. With that said I would think some kind of body strap would work best since it would probably be awkward and less secure to run with it on an arm. A silicon case with 2 hole and bungees going through it would probably be the best way to secure it to your body.
If you do decide to go running with your nexus 7 let us know how it went and how you secured it.
I'm 99.99% sure your N7's screen gonna break if it falls face down. So it's better not to run with it if you don't have a plan to get a new one...
Btw the best way to run with it might be to find a back pack like this

Can see the title - I can charge my phone from 4% to full in rougly 90-100 mins using stock charger. This seems significantly faster than reported by other review sites, does this mean my battery is not fully utilizing all its cells?

Mine did the same thing....
Mine charges super fast too, but I still get great life out of it. 5-6 hour screen time, all day and into the next.
This phone gets better battery life than any other I have ever owned. The fast charging is a great bonus.

It could also have something to do the the 1150mA charger. That's more current than most phone chargers.

On a related note, this thing either charges faster on a car charger or is just much more efficient than the Galaxy Nexus. My Galaxy Nexus's battery would actually drain when using GPS in the car while plugged into my Kinivo BTC450, especially while also playing music. My Moto X actually charges reasonably quickly while using GPS and playing music. There's definitely no need for some high voltage car charger.
With the S4, I could easily carry around extra batteries in my wallet. The batteries in the S5 look significantly longer, and I want to know if they'd fit. Does anyone know how long the batteries are?

Awesome! I remember seeing that a few days ago, but thanks for linking it!!
Edit: does anyone have the height of any of the other batteries then? I'd like to use some ratios and find out the exact height.
Edit^2: I found the dimensions of the S3 battery, and by using a ruler on my screen for ratios I found that the dimensions of the S5's battery are 3.37in (85.6mm) by 1.65in (42mm).
This is EXACTLY the length of a standard credit card (85.6mm by 53.98)!

Removable batteries are great to have I am scared removing too much damage the plastic cover and fail to keep water out
I don't think it will. The clips holding it in on the S5 are stronger than on previous generations, so I don't think it will be a problem.

You can calculate the watts yourself. Pretty easy by multiplying the voltage by the amperage . On that one the two options are:
5v*2a = 10 watts
or
9v*1.67a = 15 watts
thanks man. I guess I knew that but hadn't used it in so long. anyone found a high watt car charger ?
