And what an excellent 4.0.3 it really is. Sprinkled with some bricks, too, but one
can't have everything.

I couldn't understand why people think I am not satisfied. A few of my friends are using nexus s and they had solved lots of problems after they upgraded their phones from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4

yes because that phone was the first to be shipped with ics, so that is basically the bleeding edge for ics

I don't mind a 403 without the bugs atm battery(wakelocks) sucks, touchscreen sometimes hangs, apps not working well do OS bugs, Lockscreen bug hangs alot processes/apps, more importantly LPY bricks issues, don't think it is 100% lpy problem but still want my mind not to it all the time, want to wipe phone and can't.

v4.04 upgrades the Note to 5.4 inch screen, quad core processor, bug fixes.

Official 4.0.4 change log:
Stability improvements.
Better camera performance.
Smoother screen rotation.
Improved phone number recognition.
Sound a like a worthy upgrade to me.
But I'm on CM9 so I've it already.

Well my sgs2 got 4.0.3, 2 months ago, and still no upgrade to 4.0.4. So won't be quick for note either. I love the way they release something totally new and it's need upgrades for bug fixes straight away. How hard it is for these massive companies to get it right first time!

Got mine yesterday.. I would say its quite good. Just dat the system notification is a bit too soft and the lock screen sound is delayed by 2 secs. Another thing is, camera mode is not stable.. Otherwise good.

My camera stop working at the first time, need to force close the app few times before it starts working again, strange!
I'm using face unlock now hence didn't notice the delay.

lol if everyone did one for every region.. that'll be pretty annoying

I barely see difference between gb and ics, makes the whole waiting a bit dissapointing. I guess for most users it is comfortable.
Ics should also be more battery efficient, dont know how Samsung managed to mess that up.
Anyway speedmod kernel is pretty good combo, for seeking to increase battery life

My note crashed abnormally on ICS after a phone call morning, the screen turned still with blue lines covered.
Battery life is like 1%/min use time, tried everything this forum suggested but still poor.

I know thats more like OT, but when i updated to XXLT4 (DBT) my battery life was getting better alot! On XXLSZ i had 3 hours screenon time on a average day, now i get about 7 hours. LT4 have a good battery life for me, just a hint.

Mmm my battery life is actually the same or slightly better. After reading all the horror stories I braced myself for the worst... but it's without problems.

I was on xxlsz but am on LT4 now i don't know why but I feel LT4 got better battery life and performance :silly:

Really? They have basically confirmed that they will be providing the next version of Android to the Z instead of just abandoning it in favour of supporting the newer flagships that are releasing soon.
Seems like good news to me.

Seriously??? Good news???? The Z was always going to get 4.3. Not getting it would have been disastrous.
It's a question of timing. When? This year? Next year?
The Z right now, more than anything else, needs a flipping update to sort out this buggy 4.2 crap laggy Rom.
Sometimes, I feel it has a mind of its own. I regularly pull my phone out of my pocket to discover strange goings on like mobile data off, Bluetooth on, so many apps open.
It's like it goes totally berserk sometimes.

But is is so easy to update to a Global 4.2.2. You are on XDA, that means you are not the average Joe, update with the tools the people over here provide us with.

Must whining and complaining infest every thread regarding updates? Even when good news is announced, the usual suspects surface to moan.
It's getting seriously boring now. If you're not happy, sell your phone and move to another manufacturer.

The slow and bad updates what we are unhappy with.
My wife have S4 and she get 3 ota updates within one month,seriously i don't know what they fix in this 3 updates cause the phone was very good without it.
Imagine that we are going to get 4.3 after 4 months you will still happy?

Sure. The phone works fine without it. Just like it worked fine when everyone had the pitchforks and torches out because they thought Sony were taking too long over the 4.2.2 update. Look how rushing them then worked out. I would have waited longer to allow them more time to work out the slight kinks with 4.2.2.

Works fine for me. I did a 'dirty' update via PCC without any wipes. I only suffered slight lags in the stock launcher, so I swapped to Nova.
This isn't my point anyway. Any time updates are even mentioned, the same people appear to whine about the same things over and over. Complaints about 4.2.2 are nothing to do with this thread in any case.

It looks like Samsung is going to release uncompleted roms...
Today they started rolling out the S3 one that is missing Knox and interesting features from s4/note3....
The same looks for Note 2... maybe Mj5 was a release candidate...
They are going to give us just a "core" refresh, porting 4.3 to their touchwiz rom ... for compatibility with Gear.
Just my impressions.

My battery drain is normal and with google now active no problem.
I installed the latest gsearch/launcher & play services from kitkat and I've a smooth experience.
The new launcher is snappy and smooth on cyanogenmod, maybe the 4.1.2 libs were not ready for it.

It's my turn

I kinda get the feeling that this update wouldn't have the new S Note, making it a huge let down for me... At least the leaked 4.3 doesn't have it.

The more things change the more they stay the same..Or what do expect from 4.3? 4.3 will be not able to toast bread or to cool my coka cola
