Please help

I flashed my defy with a Chinese sbf which upgraded it to version 5. I found this sbf and flashed it: 4.5.1-134_DFP-132. I have no camera now. I am assuming I have a green lens defy which is why it is not working but I cannot install 2nd init to use the greenbread mod. Keeps saying parsing problem with the package. Please help!!

Android Version- 2.3.6

But... as far as I know Greenbread mod is not working with green lensed Defy`s flashed to 2.3.6 so you`re stuck with not working camera.
But, you can try installing latest Cyanogen mod for Defy+ which should work fine with your green lensed camera.

That will not work. the sbf he istalled is level 6!, and that procedure is for 2.3.4 level 5, so you're stuck in 2.3.6 at level 6, the best chance is use the CM7 for defy+ like said marko1103

[Q] Install Cyanogenmod on Defy with Defy+ sbf

I flashed my Defy with a Defy+ sbf because I bricked it.
The sbf is :
DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-139_BLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_USADEFYEMARAB1B8RTFR004.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNGIBRRTFR_P019_A022_M002_HWp3_WIG148201_Service1FF
Now I have a few problems like I can't phone without activate the speaker, which can be pretty uncomfortable, and I can't download apps without Wifi.
So I want to install a custom ROM and I'm wondering if it's better to install Cyanogenmod in its Defy+ version than the Defy one.

In the list of ROM and Firms, you have one good notice, an user post the CM 7.2 for Defy Plus MB526.. or you can try install the WhitteRabbit..

I prefer the defy froyo kernel builds and you might agree. It sounds like you may have a green lens defy. If so, you will want normal defy built rooms if you are choosing cm9. The camera only works with corresponding build depending on your type of camera. Hope that helps.

Hello, currently I got CM7.1, Android 2.3.7,
I didnt understand if I need to install Defy Froyo kernel or Defy+/Defy GB Kernel

surely you must install kernel froyo CM9, GB versions for defy+ are for those roms with installed gb kernel or are unable to downgrade

Gb kernel works for red lenses defys,
From cm7 to 9 wipe data and just install zip, change kernel if you want, there's plenty of tutorials on here
FYI This is dev thread and a double post next time use general or Q&A

Since u r using CM 7.1 u r on Froyo Kernel Already .. So just select Froyo based builds of Quarx and Flash them without flashing any kernel...if ur's is a red lens defy then u can try GB buils also but right now GB builds are not perfect as Froyo builds...

i am running BL7 2.3.6 on my defy Redlens ... Will it work on my defy if i dont flash the Kernel dht_22 ???
Anyone has Got any luck with this MIUI ???
Edit: I just flashed this Miui Rom ... it cool man .. but the tutorial on both websites is not good even if translated by google chrome
Am having trouble with the chinese language which is here and there in the rom ?? Is there any language pack i could install to get rid of this problem ??

Cant install MIUI GB

I have a defy and recently i have flashed an Asian Defy+ sbf on my defy.
I have rooted it and installed the Defy 2ndInit...and then afterwards i tried to install the MIUI 2.4.13 GB stable version on it.
But the installation was not successful. I got an error at the boot loader screen....something like (Err: A5,70,00,00).
Can anyone guide me how can i install MIUI on my defy again. I have attached the screenshot of the kernel details here.
I know there could be some problem with the BL it dont exactly understand it....

You have a GB kernel and the ROM you are flashing is based on froyo kernel.

miui is based on the CM7 kernel for defy. The froyo kernel. There is no chance to get miui work on the defy+ GB kernel.
so if you weren't able to flash a froyo sbf (downgrade), you might use cm10.
