I have the opportunity to acquire a nexus 4 on virgin UK. An orange sim works in it but atm cannot prove if my o2 simply will work. If anyone can confirm if carrier supplied handsets are unlocked that'd be great.

Yes as far as I know they are .. for GSM networks.
They are all unlocked.

From what I have seen, I am sure they are.

All Nexus 4's come unlocked.
Great thanks everyone - as I don't think this was bought from the Play Store, but instead carrier provided, I wanted to make sure.

I'm sorry if this is already answered. I live in India and a relative lives in America. I want him to get the Nexus 7 4G model for me. Just wanted to know that has Google begun selling it and if he orders it today then by when should the product be delivered?

Yes google has begun selling Nexus 7 4G
If you want to buy it in India you can get it from eBay they ship worldwide. Mine just got delivered yesterday(delivery period 7-9 days).

Cool. BTW there is a sim card slot in it, isn't it? And does it support Indian sim cards?

Can anyone please confirm whether Indian 3G cards like Vodafone, Airtel, etc work on it or not?

Should since the nexus7 only has 3g NOT 4g.

I am pretty sure any nexus 4 bought anywhere was already unlocked. Might want to talk to whoever you bought it from.

even i got this problem...anybody out there with any suggestions???
I really doubt that it's SIM locked, even if the shop said that it was.

can you guys let us know which carrier it is locked to?
Hey everyone, I just bought a used Nexus 4 today. The previous owner had used it in T-Mobile, but I wanted to use it on AT&T. I had read that it doesn't matter who you buy the Nexus from, its always unlocked. When I called AT&T and had the rep run the IMEI, he said it was clean but the phone was carrier locked. Does this sound right or was the rep wrong?
Rep is wrong its unlocked. If I'm not mistaken even the T-Mobile one is unlocked. Try a att sim

Lmao yea he's wrong

Change your SIM then change the APN accordingly to AT&T.
Enjoy your Nexus 4!

Wow he should not be working for AT&T if he thinks a Nexus 4 is ever locked. Lmao!
Nexus 4 CyanogenMod 10.1.0RC5
Ya, I assumed he was wrong. I explained that all Nexus 4s are unlocked, but he said that it showed it was locked on his end.
Yea he is not aware of the nexus. It will work. Just pop your microsim in there and adjust your APN settings accordingly and you are good to go. Just got mine a few days ago and I had no problems setting it up.

Hello guys, does anyone know where i can buy the Xperia Tablet Z 3g? Been looking EVERYWHERE for 2 weeks there is either no stock, or only Ebay links, for american resellers.
Or would the USA version work on the Tmobile Baseband overhere
I would counsel against getting a US model unless you're certain it'd work. US networks are generally quite different to UK ones and I wouldn't, by default, expect a US device to work in the UK. Maybe someone with actual experience can correct me, though.

Was that on contract? As I want to buy outright. If not I will have to go with the 32gb. I don't mind having the 4g, as it still has the 3g basebands.
Out right no contract

Bought one from o2 after them saying it was unlocked. Took it back 5 minutes later due to being locked. Bought one from Vodafone and exactky the same. After 2 weeks of sony being out of stock I came home that same night and at 23.30 Checked online and was in stock! Not going to lie its a beast!
Hello,
Been wanting to root and maybe even flash a rom to my Nexus 4. But I've hesitant because my nexus 4 service is provided by any of the popular carriers(Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile) but the carrier is exclusive to the 4 surrounding states I'm from(Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico)
So my question is can my phone be rooted? Since it's provided by any of the above carriers
Yep. It has nothing to do with who you have service with.

Okay, thanks I was worried that it might mess up the phone if I tried to root.
So I guess everything is built around [Build Number] or Android version
