1st of all you have to be patient and wait for an answer before opening the same threads
2nd you need to be more specific e. g. what is the model of your defy?
Last but not least, please use the search option to find your answer. I am sure that someone before you had the same problem already.
Maybe this or this will help you, but please take your time and read
This kind of problem was debated on the forum. Take off battery and after you put it on press power+vol+ and after 3 sec release power. From now one proceed according to a guide.

What is your problem exactly? I mean, be specific and give details as in what happened and what is the situation? what were you trying to do? at what step this happened?
You need to tell us;
- What did you flashed into your Defy, give us the name of .sbf file(s) you used. All of them.
- What happened when you try booting into Bootloader mode, stuck at logo? blank screen?
- What happened when you try normal boot up, stuck at logo? blank screen? nothing happened?
- You sure your battery didn't drained yet? You can't charge it when your rom isn't ready.
- Did you have external battery charger in handy?
If not, try to preserve your battery juice as much as possible, or you'll need to go McGuyver.
There, be extremely specific or we couldn't help you one bit.
White LED means that your system pass the bootloader and can charge the battery. If you remove the battery, press simultaneously on the power and vol+ put the battery in place and after 3 sec release the power and after the vol+ the system MUST enter in USB SW update and AFTER driver is installed will be recognized by PC/RSD.

When I mentioned which model you have, I meant do you have MB525 or MB526, red or green lens? This is important to know if you want to flash an SBF-file! To prevent the future issues, if you're not sure what you're doing - don't do it.

turn off the device and remove the battery and sim card, wait 10 minutes then reinstall the batteries alone. after that make sure the device is in bootloader mode and flash again
I hope this helps
I've tried them all but nothing not help!
I read all the forums and did not find the answers.
A lot of people have this problem but nobody gives a solution, the phone is not responding-not to enter the bootloader!does not help one key combination, I think that somehow got into a phone via USB cable and using computers but do not know how?

You can't downgrade, search for the SBF here: http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2 and download it from here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_milestone2/list.php
Then, read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497263

first of all thank you very much for quick replay
the phone is no more able to be putted in bootloader mode
the battry is ok then the led of charg light on when lug it to usb
then there is no possibility to take it to moto for me
so there is an other method to force it (my phone) to get bootloader mode by hardware like gtag in samsung
If your phone shows a black screen right after turning it on, then it means you're on bootloader mode...
Next time pay more attention to the warnings...

Try entering bootloader mode (vol up + camera + power). Even though the screen will stay black (but with backlight turned on), the phone will be in bootloader mode. You can see it by connecting USB cable - the white charging led will light up. At this stage you can simply start flashing latest stock gingerbread firmware via RSD lite. After several minutes the phone screen will display some info about flashing and you just have to wait a little bit longer.
You might be at a bit bigger trouble if your battery is empty. If so, you can try to recharge it with +5V current i.e. from USB port as described in this forum. Or you can find somebody with MS2, just to recharge the battery.
I also simply downgraded my MS2 to Froyo, and had problems like you. I was scared I bricked my phone, but luckily it's not so easy to be damaged!

I'm having the exact same problem, and if someone know how to fix this I would be very grateful.
But before I log out I have a question about this? If the phone's ROM was bricked, what procedure Motorola should take to resolve the issue?
I heard that they make a direct installation on the ROM's cellphone, but just don't know how they do that. If someone knows how to, could tell us to reproduce the same strategy in our home's. I believe this knowledge could fix the problem we have.
:good:

1. Install Moto's USB drivers.
2. Install RSD Lite
3. Download an SBF depending on the software you had before.
4. Reboot into downloader mode, and flash that.
If it still doesn´t work, google it. Use the defy forums, the MS2 has the exact same hardware.
If it STILL doesn't work, google again.
If it STILL WON'T WORK, google once again.
And if it still won't show signs of life, take it to moto's service center. Use your social skills and play dumb and maybe you get a cheap repair.
99% of problems happen when users don't read before flashing. It's explicitly written in huge bloody red letters to NOT downgrade from GB.

I've tried to flash the phone using sbf_flash at Linux. In older days I used RSD Lite and windows stuffs, now just Linux. But considering the behavior of the phone, it'll not meter what kind of tool I use, the problem will not be resolved. How you've said: "NOT downgrade from GB"
I've done this, and now the phone looks to be over! My mistake!! And now I would like to know if someone have the knowledge to bring the phone back from this situation, without physically change the ROM. What Motorola's service center people do to recover the phone in cases like that? If not involve hardware stuffs, just software, I believe it's possible to fix it for ourselves. And THAT was my question.
I know the things about downgrade, and the loss and bricks that this procedure could make, once I read it. I'm not worried about what was made, but about what could I do from now on, to repair the phone.
What was done there's no coming back!
But thanks anyway. If you know the "how to" to fix bricked phones, I'll be glad!

They use JTAGs, but even if you get your hands in a JTAG box, I don't think we have any way to flash anything with it.
Hello guys,
my friend gave me his defy+. I successfully rooted+flashed a new JB rom on it. He was experimenting something, he started to flash another rom on it, and now the device wont even boot. It does nothing, only it shows a white led when it is connected to the PC. The RSD lite recognizes the device.
Is there any solution to fix this or it should fly in the trash?
edit:
I flashed this rom
DEFYPLUS_U3_4_5_1_134_DFP-231_CEE_ROOTED_No_Signed
now the device starts, gets to the Motorola red logo, but then it goes to a black screen, where are these informations.

battery OK

Issue is even when connecting to PC phone is not getting detected hence I could not flash it.
My Moto Defy will not turn on ... Bad situation.. i need to get my phone up and running by monday please help
I know there has been many cases like this before and i just spent 2 hours looking in all these known case... tried what worked for others and i still has no luck in getting my device to turn on.
All i know its not a battery related problem ... i got 2 bats and they both have over 70% juice.
there is a post on youtube ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoVBV-njUOw
My situation is the same as his .. but his rsd lite is able to detect his defy....
now i was thinking that i recently formatted my pc .. and all drivers are gone and i did not use rsd after that ... so no drivers were installed for it to detect the defy ... then re installed the MOTO DRIVERS but still no luck ????
Any thoughts of what i can try to fix this next

Mainly can be a Drivers Problem.
Sometimes the ROMs can have a Bug, in the case of some 10.1 ROMs, this is precicelly the bug, if the phone is discharged completelly the cell is not turning on anymore. I was lucky, because i was ussing iLLusion Rom on my DEFY+ when it happened to me and i lett the phone plugged to AC power and after a couple of hours it turning on. after this i don`t let it down at all...
Not at all the people that make it this, it worked as sollution. i hope you have luck.

Hey,
have u installed the Drivers only or the Motorola Device Manager?
Your phone show really nothing after u press vol+ and power? It's really rare that this happen.
Try going to an unofficial service center, to get your device j-tagged (google it), they will restore your fully working bootloader.

Install this, may it work better than the msi pack, sending the device to a service center is last thing i would do.
Have u try following: plug the device without battery to the pc and hold vol+ and power down at the same time.
it should boot in bootloader and show that battery is needed if u insert the battery after that u could programm it.
no luck

Just after you posted this ..i started to try this solution .. and its not working .... if i plug the usb cable without the battery the white led just flashes for less than 1 sec . like a millisecond .... then nothing .. even if i try the vol+ power ...
i remember now trying SWAPPER2 yesterday and since then this happened .. OMG ...
After u enabled it, u change location of swap file? If I enabled it and choose my third sdcard partition with swap partition the system gets really laggy, always reported it. Maybe ur choose wrong path and let swapper format boot partition?
must be

Well all my thoughts are going towards that now .. maybe that is the problem ...
because before applying swap i was looking for infos about the swap partition directory ... will it be what is default when i installed the app like ... dev/block/mmcblk0p1 ... or should i change it too mmcblk1p3 ... but i could not get any infos for defy.. so i tried with the default one it didnt work .. then i tried with the one i thought would be the right directory ... it worked .. though after i type free in terminal .. it was saying 508 kb when the created swap was suppose to a 256mb partition ... but the phone was ok and working .. then i switched it off to replace sd .. but KAPUT
So i beleive there is no way of recovery boot partition then ????
mmcblk1p3 is some partition in the phone not on sdcard there is the problem, mmcblk0p3 is third partition if sdcard! Ur last chance I think is really the service center
---------- Post added at 08:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:16 PM ----------
Yea after I looked what mmcblk1p3 contains, it really seams that u blown ur bootloader ur can't recover it, last chance is service center
Even with self made factory cable I think it wouldn't be recognized from PC

Hello guys, I have a huge problem with my P9 Lite:
- the phone does not start, does not show signs of life, the pc can not see it, it is impossible to enter the download mod, nothing ...
This is P9 Lite, before uploading Nougata about a year ago it was VNS-L21, but after uploading it changed to generic-a15 and instead of CxxBxx it was NRD90m test-keys.
Phone died today after uploading UPDATE.APP, but, I think, for P9 (EVA-L09) because other updates didnt work because of 5% error (on EVA-L09 soft 99% for few minutes and then screen off) ...
Please, help ...

Hello,
so why you haven't searched for help when you got generic a-15 ??
Now you did a big mistake flashing EVA-L09 firmware.. (you know it's for P9 not for P9 lite)
Hope you will "save" your phone but you have to know exactly what was your model (L21/L31/L23, etc)
cust C432/C185/C02/C55/C605,etc.. and firmware B160/B161/B360/B370/B380,etc.. (mine are/was L31C432B381)
When u sure model and latest firmware u have/had try follow the rollback guide u find in
UNIFIED HELP THREAD.. here's the link

P.S.: READ CAREFULLY ALMOST TWO (THREE IS BETTER) TIMES BEFORE DO ANYTHING !!!
I think I did somethink like this, flashing oem info from P9.... I waste many time but it's ok now. I've try many way... The first step : drain your battery to 0 % , make your phone unable to start
then plug usb holding power and volume - , you could use fastboot, then, unlock, then flash images from update.... there is many tuto here...i 've use them....
The better advice is from Campobasso :

Hello @KaJzii2807
you wrote on UNIFIED HELP THREAD but until now u didn't get any help... i know,
sometimes things won't go as we expect...
Let me see if i can help you make dload rollback method...
You have L21 but some other info needed to do this, like single or dual sim, and very important
i have to know if your CUST is C432 or a branded version like C02 or other...
ASAP i will try to give you OEMinfo.zip + stock rom for your model, maybe you'll be able to unbrick.
Regards
Its Dual Sim, i had NRD90m test-keys, before this i probably had unbranded C432

Good afternoon,
first of all dude, install HISUITE for windows and minimal adb and fastboot on your computer
(with windows) u find here on XDA..
Make a try, only a try....
You said phone won't turn on, so try keep vol - and connect to computer with USB cable...
If won't turn on try (even holding vol -) press power button until it boots to fastboot.
Report what's happen when you do this...

Do not despair...:fingers-crossed:
The only thing from now is to wait a few weeks hoping that will completely discharge the battery. This should make some sort of wipe. After this try again if phone starts in fastboot mode ..
Without fastboot you can't do anything ...
Wish u the best and fingers crossed.
