Hello,
how to make gallery only show pictures in Pictures folder and those taken by the phone?
It showing random album covers and logos renders it almost useless for me cause it is hard to find things. Any solution?
PS.: I am aware that i could make a .nomedia everywhere but that would defeat the purpose of making things easier since I'd have to do that every time theres a new folder on my device.

Hi
I dont know why the pictures and videos of my games shows up in the gallery. Is there a way to remove them without deleting them from the game directory?
It never happened before but it happened since i upgraded to darky 9.5

Simply place an empty file called .nomedia in each directory you want to hide. Don't forget the dot in front of the name.

awesome thanks. it works
This is really annoying as I have about 60 books. How can I keep my gallery just my own pictures? Thx

Try creating an empty .no media file in the covers folder then rebooting the tablet.

Just to clarify the above poster, get a file browser app if you already don't have one installed (I use EsFileExplorer).
1. Navigate to the folder where you have all your audiobooks stored
2. Tap the menu button > New > File
3. Rename the file ".nomedia" (no quotes)
You don't need to put anything in the file and now all the files in that folder will not show up in your gallery.
Thanks u guys rock!

I just noticed today that all my pictures from the instant upload got split into like 50 folders, there are are pictures taken on the same day in referent folders, different dates everywhere, it's a mess, when did this happen? Any fix?

That is Google's fault. I think they've done something on their side. I have the same thing on my devices. Worse, my intant upload photos don't appear in gallery anymore and I have empty instant upload folder that comes back even when I delete it from picasaweb, :<
Same here.

So I have an instagram. It automatically saves the picture to my gallery àpp whenever I post it on IG. I backed up all my photos and unrooted, and went back to stock everything. Now, I've posted something on instagram. So now I have two photos in my instagram folder in the gallery. When I save the instagram photos from the old backup into the same folder,it causes my gallery app to crash.

I used a cloud service like Copy. (Copy is an app. Just to clarify) I noticed if I delete the backed up pictures from the gallery after it crashes (I use es file explorer to delete the pictures because the gallery won't let me) the gallery becomes usable again. Also, other galleries like quick pic are fully usable with the new pics added

I would Luke to state that I've resolved the issue. The thing was that I was transferring the old IG folder onto a path on my phone then I'd move the pics manually to the folder which was already on my phone. This time,I just moved the backed up folder (with same name as the folder on my phone) and it simply merged the pics beautifully as one folder. Thanks once again.

I noticed this when browsing through my videos on mx player. I've never known it to be found here, let alone twice. Easiest way to explain it would be to just look at the screens. Anyone else have this issue?

that 'media-rw' folder you have has symlink(s) to the storage(or mnt) directories.
Like a shortcut to a directory.
That makes sense. I was thinking it was a shortcut. So, two things I think it could be is either folder mount, or Google+ backup. I didn't notice it before either of these, but I've since turned off backup. It's slightly annoying since all folders duplicate within my video player.

So I'm going to do a backup and delete those shortcuts, see what complains about it. Anyone know?
