Hi!
So im not new to rooting, i have a Desire HD, rooted over a year now, but today i tried rooting my freinds ideos x5, I rooted it with an app called z4root, and it went well, then i flashed the 5.0.2.6 CWM recovery and then tried to install CyanMobile rom. but from my rooting habbits i wiped boot and system partition as well as data and cache. And then i flashed the Cyanmobile rom. When booted it went to a blue screen, which i resolved by flashing the overseas firmware with the "dload" method.
soon after i finaly got access to the recovery again and just flashed the CyanMobile rom, it booted and then the only thing to show up is the Status bar. so i tried flashing cm7.2 and it just goes in a long bootloop, it says "ideos" for a while then shuts down and again and again....
oh and it was on froyo before.
EDIT: i tried restoring a nand backup, but when restoring it says : Error restoring android.secure. and it freezes on IDEOS logo when booted.
so i used the dload method with the pink screen, it rebooted directly into recovery, like there is nothing to boot to.... and when it enters recovery it puts out this

So, you had a problem and to solve it you flashed official firmware with dload folder right? And after that, you tried to flash cm7.2 and it bootloops is that it?
What version of the official firmaware did you install? .32 ou .35 kernel?
solved it by flashing the official firmware again , installed the 5.0.2.6 cwm recovery and flashed the cm 7.2, it works now. My first time dealing with rooting a huawei device. im not sure why it bootlooped.
So its working right now?
yes it works

and afterwards have tried to use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929
but received these messages (the first is while on recovery, the second is after pressing on adb sideload in the recovery
right now only the data partition is mounted but i am not sure whether it's suppose to be like this, and i still don't have zip inside my phone.
the recovery is team win recovery project v2.6.2.0
please help as i am getting crazy. i wouldn't mind using the toolkit if i knew which option to chose.
thank you
Hi, to install a 4.4+ rom you need to update your recovery to 2.6.3.3 and then try sideload again.
P.s you wiped the user data partition.
well i was already noted it is something like this but i also cannot install the PA RC2 via the adb sideload.
is there a previous version available, as i didn't find any?
and how can update the recovery in such a state?
Download the recovery img not zip!
Copy the img to adb folder boot to bootloader , open cmd and type: fastboot flash recovery file_name.img .

Thanks it worked! I installed the factory img of kitkat I'll try installing vanir later!
I don't know what happened to my phone. From what I've read, I think its boot loop? I had recently edited my build.prop file. However, I found this was completely unnecessary and was going to overwrite the build.prop file with one that I had backed up to a micro sd card previously. After I did this, I was stuck on the screen(see image). I tried using android recovery mode. I tried "wipe cache partition" and wipe data/factory reset. Afterwards, I tried to reboot from recovery mode, and I saw the word error and the screen was stuck again. I've removed the battery and nothing works. Is something like adb the solution and if so, can someone link me a guide that's really noob friendly. My phone is rooted and this happened after I overwrite the build.prop file and restarted the phone. I have never flashed a rom. Thx in advance.

Similare problem here
I have a similar problem, but a little different...
Rooted the phone and then tried to flash TWRP using their official app., It stated that everything was successful and asked if I wanted to reboot into recovery. I tapped yes so I could make my first backup., Now the phone starts and shows the logo in your image then goes to a blank screen and thats it... Cant boot into recovery or bootloader or anything...
Any advice out there, or do I now won a brick?
I also have this problem and I can not do anything, neither recovery nor odin ...

Google ?
Or search XDA .
Or search XDA while you search in google
lol
Search how to flash firmware with Odin, simple stuff and it should get you out of your pickle
Fully aware how 2 use odin but not sure how that's going to help I've installed 2/3 firmwares to no success m8No m8
Do you not upgrade firmware through Kies.
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
No m8 I don't really upgrade just either bang a rom on it or download firmware and odin it

Kies as in to fix factory mode .
You can download stock firmware from sammobile
These are odin compatible.
I had a similar situation when i flashed custom rom with latest twrp. (I used twrp 3.0) So i got stuck on download mode. After many searches i found how to use odin and flashed stock firmware. Then rooted it, changed recovery to custom and then flashed custom rom with twrp 2.8.7
Also provide your model no. and what you flashed so that more experienced guys can help you to come out from download/factory/odin mode.
Will do I've flashed a few bobcat and darklord to name 2 of them with same outcome I'll take screenshot on boot up
Just went ahead and googled for the heck of it... would "This" be a solution to your problem?

try this method!!!
Flash latest Stock Oreo build, along with it's firmware.
Boot into TWRP... use this one>>((( http://bit.do/evcGZ )))-fist do fastboot boot bootonlyrecovery.img
Wipe system, cache & data
Flash the ROM - may ask which partition simply just hit the stock OS partition
Flash twrp installer zip
Reboot back to recovery
flash Magisk
I just got this phone, and am enjoying it.
I installed the unofficial TWRP from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...overy-unofficial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3921637 . I just got a new "OTG" update for this phone that I want to install.
However, I just learned that you can't install OTG updates normally with TWRP installed as a custom recovery. I also have Magisk (systemless root) installed.
I still want TWRP installed for the benefits, but I also want the improvements from the official OFG updates. I am also aware that OTG erases root with each update.
Does anyone know how to install this latest update (without losing all my data)? Is there a custom file/build I can flash that will update my system but not wipe everything?
It shouldn't be any rush but I don't want to be running behind on all the important updates coming to this phone either.
Thanks.
(UPDATE; Deleting the compatibility.zip file inside the latest OTG update rom .zip file from here: https://www.fonearena.com/blog/279737/xiaomi-redmi-note-7-software-update-tracker.html , made the installation suddenly work! Yay! I also installed Magisk.zip again, because I probably would need to anyways. Should be easy from now on!)
Hopefully this will help someone else!
(Looks like my issue is similar to this recent post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...overy-unofficial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3921637 . Not quite sure if I understand the directions completely however... hmmm...)
If there is a ota just download the full Rom. Works with twrp..
After Update install magisk again.. And voila. [emoji6]

*edit*
Better you use orangeFox recovery, theres no Chance to overwrite with original recovery on Update.
