Make sure that SuperUser is not set to automatically deny SU access to new apps.
If it is not or it does not seem to launch properly, download the SuperUser or the SuperSU flashable zip file and flash it through your recovery. That should fix the SU problem.
i downloaded apex launcher

Here's a very easy way to gain root access to your Nand HD builds. Some have mentioned something called z4root from the market but every time i put that in search it couldn't find it. What i DID find was an app called Super Manager that works like a charm and has many functions such as task manager, apk manager, file explorer, and app back up. What you want to do first is go to settings(where you can access just about anything..shake capture, full screen mode, font size..etc.)then go to 'enable root function'. After that, you'll be able to go into root explorer..and enjoy.
If you can't find them on the market, you can always find them HERE
hey thanks lude. that page must have eluded me cause i had no idea it existed..probably because i never really checked the android only pages. i usually hovered around the hd2 android pages.anyways,thanks.i have one question for you..i hear allot about busybox but i'm not exactly sure what it is..or the magic behind it. could you explain?

Dung8604..iv'e heard the same thing...Another reason i went ahead and used Super Manager. Well that and the fact that it has so many options.

Basically it gives you additional unix/linux commands so you can deploy different tasks at the root level. Similarly, it's like having a registry editor in windows for you to slice and dice around.
i cant remove apps from system
but titanium backup have root right
is this will help ?

I'm gonna give it a shot and report my findings then. Thanks.
Edit: I've gotta say this is definitely worth a go. Don't know if everything works as described, (such as app backup) but I'm definitely looking at my system files. I tried copying the miui music app into /system/app directory but it said not enough free space. Strange, but I will play with it some more tomorrow. Thanks for the find!

SYS App Unistaller will take care of the System Apps you want gone.??
EDIT::: Anything in Squash may have a issue. Not running a "Squashed" ROM so I can't test.
Doesn't hurt to try...

Hello,
I have recently installed Nosense 4.2 in my HTC Desire HD. My only problem is that the rom has stock gmail app version 2.3.5 and I want to downgrade to 2.3.4 since 2.3.5 cannot handle correctly multiple accounts. Up to now, i have tried installing the older version with no success, tried to copy it to the system/app with no success. How can I downgrade an application succesfully ?
Thanks in advance.

Did you set the permissions too on the new apk?
You can set it with Root Explorer after you copied it over.
Just tick every box (that way it should work).

Not really. Try to get Root explorer ans set the permissions, so the apk can be read/write/executed correctly for all owners.

never heard that bug..do you think google will leave a bugged version there?
are you sure u didn't wrong someting in the settings?
btw this is the desire section, non desire hd
Does the phone need to be rooted inorder to downgrade to 2.3.4? Thanks.
Superuser is not granting permission to any app at all (titanium backup,...). Those apps just wait for root permission. Anyone else with this issue? And maybe also with a solution?
Thanks, Manfred

Goto superuser app and then:
menu-button->settings->the most above menu item-> select "always ask" in that screen
If this doesnt work:
Reflash rom or use the last nightly from arif-ali
If that doesnt work:
Wipe all and then reflash rom
I've tried the setting with no success. And I did actually wipe everything before I installed this 7.1.0.1 when it was released.
As this is not a showstopper for me right now, I will likely wait for CM7.2 or see what happens to the rumor of CM9 for our device.
Thanks for your help!
Ok, after several boot loops, I have flashed cm7.2 beta and this solved my problem...
what is your cm7.2 beta ROM 's full name ?
update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-click-KANG-signed.zip ?

Hi! I sorry for my English.
I have a HTC hd2 with android 2.2. but I didn't installed it. One friend installed it.
My problem is that I can't be root and I am searching with google and I don't find it. My friend had installed Superuser but now I don't have permissions and I can't move apps to sdcard.
My sdcard is partitioned in two partitions one of them is ext2: 1Gb and the other is FAT: 6.98Gb. I try to install link2sd but i don't have permissions and now i want to update the binary of Superuser and I don't have permissions.
What do I do?
Bye, thank you

You're using the DFT Stock Desire ROM. That is the only HD2 ROM which isn't rooted. Flash an update ROM and you should be fine. Look at the guide in my signature below for more information on how to flash.

if you have your rom in NAND you should be able to flash it.
if NativeSD, use a root enabled file explorer to put it in /system/app folder and reboot.
Backup first and give it a try
